Comment: Nice pic and note! Would you mind sharing if you sprayed something on the artwork to protect it, and if so what? It holds up so well.
Response: It was supposed to be more watercolor-y, but I couldn't find an ultra fine point sharpie. The thicker lines called for bolder color. I sealed it with Valspar gloss topcoat because that's what I had. I don't like the rough finish. I think you can use any kind of spray - I read recommendations for Krylon.

Sadly the group didnt last more than a year because the center we were knitting them for wanted more that 4 people could do and we felt like they didn't know you couldnt just whip out stuff in a hour. Response: It is strange. We have had dogs that eat people food even if they don't like it because they think they SHOULD like that cherry you dropped on the floor. But Argus went out of his way to get to the peppers so I know he liked them.

Comment: Becky...Thank you for the creative upcycled card....just so you know the adhesive you used did not hold up...the items all separated from the cardboard and some of the items lifted enough to get torn off...the truck only had a front and back wheel. The giraffe lifted and was torn on his neck.. I'm still giving you a heart though because I appreciate that you read my profile and took the time to make it a very personal, creative swap!!! Response: I'm so sorry, Charlene. I checked all the edges with my fingernail before sending, but I guess maybe it loosened up when it was exposed to the damp air. :( I have asked several people how to make these durable enough without getting glue all over, and I've gotten no answers really. Google is no help either. Everyone is saying "just glue it down." Yup, it's as simple as that! Ugh.

Comment: That is a cute story! Dogs do eat the strangest things! When I was growing up, we had a terrier mix, and she was a handful. One New Year's Eve we had our neighbors over for a prime rib dinner. Mom put the roast and stuff on the table and then we all went to look at the addition to our home that had just been completed. When we came back to the table to eat, there was Frisky, EATING the prime rib on top of the table!!! Needless to say, we did not have prime rib for dinner...... thankfully Mom had also made lasagna!! Love dogs, don't you? Thanks!

I actually created the name My Retro Soul specifically for my vintage shop that i have on etsy that has been on hiatus for a couple of years now. LOL! When my interests shift i go hard and snail mail has taken the time that i would have usually put in to selling vintage items in my shop. I still hunt for the good stuff at the thrift stores though and sell best finds on eBay every now and then. I keep meaning to get the my etsy going again but life is busy. I probably should just to pay for all the postage i use on swaps.

Comment: Becky--this ATC is an absolute work of art. I love the technique (how did you do this??) and the colors, the hand drawn image of the tree with leaves -- it's beautiful! Then the extras you sent me! This foil paper is amazing and I will definitely use it in my upcoming swaps. How generous of you.
Response: I just drew it with a sharpie and colored in with watercolor pencils. For years I have been using them to gently color in stamped images. This was my first experiment with laying on the color thick.

Disney world with our granddaughter was amazing. She gets to go to Disney Land in California with her mom and dad in December.

Thank you so much! we have a place that sounds similar to the shop you described. They are named "Art Asylum" Their description of the store is "From the basement to the attic and Grampa's garage too, we've got it all just for you." I would love to go and spend several hours in there but it's way across town and I don't drive the freeways here anymore so I have to take hubby. He's good for about an hour then he gets antsy. Of course, I don't think my checkbook could afford more than an hour or so in there. LOL!

Comment: This has to be one of my favorite postcards I have received over my 15+ years of postcarding! Thank you! It's perfect.
I thought it odd that you get oats from Omaha in your game - there is so much agriculture in Nebraska, but I wouldn't really think of oats as one of our big ones (wheat is the third-largest crop in NE, but i never associated that with oats? laughing at myself over here)... where I live farmers rotate soybeans and field corn (not sweet corn). Nebraska grows more "popcorn" corn than any other state. We have lots of cows and pigs, of course. I recently was surprised to learn we grow lots of sugarbeets, too! I truly love my state.

Response: Interesting. Omaha supplies us with wheat too. We "get" our corn from Des Moines and St. Louis. :) So glad you like the card. I thought the art work was cool.

Response: Funny. I didn't know what is was either, but I just looked it up. It's Maxfield Parrish. The Dinky Bird was/is an illustration in a book of poem's for children. There is a really interesting article about Parrish's work on Wikiwand.

Were the squirrels pets or animals that lived nearby? It's great that you are able to have that bread each day. I'm sure it helps with the healing process. Response: Thanks, Tammy. The squirrels just lived in the neighborhood, but she would have 20 or so in her postage-stamp lot at feeding time and just as many pigeons. It must have looked a little creepy to passersby who didn't know better, but she loved them.
