Comment: What lovely RPS! A mood ring!!! I have always wanted to play with one. My daughter was thrilled. A zombie tin! Now incorporated into toy train station. A scarab! A flowery wool skeleton! A bike pin! Trees from Sweden! A sincere bald guy in a uniform from Norway! All in a Tire Biter mailer!! The fun never ceases! Thanks for a great package!!
Response: Also, there is a butt on the mailer. That's what the dog is biting at. I'm not pointing that out to get attention, just sayin' so cause it's kinda hard to notice on there. Lol. Thanks for the super-fast rating and for hosting!
Comment: What a wonderful story Emily! ^_^ The National is totally my style... I love that dark atmosphere... and I use to listen to the Boxer album too. I can perfectly understand your feelings although I usually look for something different of what I already have... silly girl ( or damn rutine!)! xD Thanks for your beautiful songs!
Comment: Emily, thanks for everything! Enjoyed the edibles and look forward to wearing the socks soon & sending out pc's. Great swap! I am drawn to the dia de los muertos skeletons lately -- that would be my choice! I used to dress up but haven't in years, I know, boring!
Comment: So sorry for the late rating!!! This postcard is so awesome, I just love everything about it. It's super creepy and has that old style horror element to it thanks so much for sending this it is totally one for my wall!! :) I just love the old Frankenstein and Dracula movies too. You deserve a million hearts!!! Hope your Halloween is amazing and spooky!!! :) xoxoxoxox
Response: It was a really fun swap for me, nightwolf. Thank you for hosting it!
Comment: I got my Halloween skeleton socks super fast! I received them on October 2nd! Thank you for making my first swap on sap_bot memorable! I am looking forward to many more swaps in the near future! Thanks Emily! :)
Response: heehee. I'm glad your first swap was fun and that I had a part in it!
Comment: Haha, I just love the zombies in this romantic postcard. The zombie walks have indeed been pretty over-done, though being out in the boonies I haven't personally seen any myself. A spider invasion would definitely be a funny one to see! Thanks for the great postcard, have a great Halloween :)
Comment: Truly beautiful postcard! I also absolutely love Bonzai trees so I was delighted to get those awesome stamps (you had no way of knowing it, but it was an awesome choice on your part haha!). Thank you so much for the postcard :).
It' makes me happy that you like the card and stamps. I thought they were pretty, too.
Comment: Hey girl!
I was going to archive the swap and I have found I didn't rate you! =( so sorry!
The roman expression "Veni, vidi, vici" (we came, you [???... I think I've missed something =/] saw, we conquered) uses to have a negative connotation in Spanish (too fascist) so it's nice o see how it changes in different places of this world =D (this sentence is really great, anyway and I'm not sure if I've understood right in English).
I really love the art in the Brookland CUA Station! ^_^
Thank you so much for sharing!
Response: Well who knows what the artist meant? perhaps he is an aspiring fascist. Young north americans are like that sometimes, unfortunately. The usual english translation is "I came. I saw. I conquered." The artist changed it to "we came. They saw. We conquered." So like I said in the email, it sounds aggressive. I LOVED your pics. I must do your rating asap.
Comment: I chose Spike and Buffy from BTVS.On Angel I like the new and improved Cordelia. But I remember Fred didn't she get involved with Conor at one time?Dr Who is awesome too. Thanks for the neat card
Response: ooh yeah. I loved Spike in both Buffy and Angel. I have a strong preference for Angel over BTVS. Just because it felt more grown up I guess so I got more attached to the characters. Willow from BTVS is a favorite character of mine though... Oh and Fred was in a love triangle with Gunn and Wesley! The connor story arc was pretty awesome...
Comment: Thank you!! The end of your email was beautiful. Also, I think it's fine to be what you call an "armchair supporter," although it sounds like you are far more than that. To me, "armchair" means you just watch it all happen, but you spark conversations and educate which in my opinion is the most important piece of any movement.
Response: thanks for hosting this swap & thanks for representing the 99% in philly.
Comment: The button you found was so fun and unusual! I definitely wonder what it was for, or if it was just cute...and the story about the other items you passed by was great. Thank you for a great swap!
Comment: Yay! I zoomed write in on the photo of your journal (just to be nosy!), and found that you mention both The Butterfly Anarchists, AND Douglas Coupland in the same sentence!
Response: & this was back in June too... so you can see why I was excited when you posted your Generation X swap! I've been rereading the book this year and my partner has been reading it too to try to understand how I got so weird.
Comment: What a delightful Halloween postcard that you created! (Even more amazed that arrived here "naked" and in perfect condition!) BEST use of glitter decoration, EVER, and this is from someone who doesn't own glitter... not usually a glitter person, but this card is AWESOME! THANKS!
Response: I'm not a glitter person usually but I sometimes make an exception for Halloween! Cause then it's EVIL glitter so it's all right! Its goood to hear it reached you intact.
Comment: Thank you for your picture! I zoomed in a bit and I love the cut+paste in your journal! I love seeing a notebook fat with ideas and extra pages. Also, the colours of your thread look so so vibrant - love the green! Anyway, interesting swap =]
Comment: Emily! Grrrrl, you made my daughters day AND my day today!!! What a thoughtful person you are:) Thanks so much for the spook-tacular box stuffed with great goodies!!! I don't think I already had anything in that box!!! I really in truly love everything in it and how you designed the outside;) Lily loves her goodies too and has the tattoos already on and the headbands :P Thank you so very much for such a thoughtful package!
Comment: Hey! Sorry it's taken me way too long to rate you. I've been caught up in things. But your drawing is the background of my computer! You gots skill girrl I love that picture. Lemme know if possible, if we could do another private swap of whatever to see if I can get my hands on that physical copy ;) if not anyway we should trade goodies again! peace.
Comment: Ohhhh i really liked the booklet !
The drawings seem very organic and beautiful. I specially liked the one on the cover of the man and the dog, i like that type of detailed drawings. Also is good to have trading places to get some CD treasures and affordable CD's.
I'll do swaps like this more often ! Thanks so much . Cometa
Comment: I got my bracelet a few days ago (Sorry so late in rating)! I LOVE it! I've always wanted to know how to make one adjustable...I'll have to inspect yours! I'm wearing it today!! Thanks so much!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I used what they call the "wrapped knot"-- but I would like to find an adjustable knot that is more adaptable to different amounts of fiber.
Comment: Wow! Thank you SO much for all of the goodies. I love everything. I even cut the picture off the front of the envelope to save. I love the skull beads and the skeleton cuff and the ribbon is so wonderful. Thank you thank you thank you! I wish I could give a thousand hearts!
Comment: Great PC! Pulled this out of my box during Irene and had to really do a double take because these are most of the -isms I also wrote. Then silly me turned it over and saw a beautifully hand made card and knew it was not mine. Thanks so much!
Comment: Eeeeeee I got my shirt today!!! THANK YOU!! I love it!! I love what you did with the sleeves, the buttons and the pocket...this shirt is amazing!! And it's so soft too! I'm so sorry that it took so long for me to get it and to rate you. Thank you so much for this awesome package!
Comment: Yay ! My favourite was the green outfit, also the underpants in the head are cool , haha ! Well, just if they are clean of course. This was a cool swap, my photos are also webcam, but the objective is to be creative and have fun. Lets do this more often. Cheers ! .Cometa
Comment: Thank you, that postcard is kind of funny. I noticed the old Norman Rockwell stamp as well. (We've had a couple of rainy days. I didn't even know there was such a thing as fair trade rain boots, that's cool!)
Comment: Sorry for taking so long to rate!! Thank you so much for sharing the details of your last bit of time on earth. I love Kim Stanley Robinson!! Haven't read the Mars trilogy, but I really liked In Memory of Whiteness. I really enjoyed reading your answers, thank you for making me smile :D
Comment: I love how we both gave names for our mixes, it gives mixes a great feel and solidarity when it's around a theme, right? Anyway, I have the flaming lips "fight test" on repeat now and you've helped remind me of past favorites like b&S if you're feeling sinister. I like your zine too! You made good points about consumerism and i spend (definetly) more $ on etsy than I actually make but its alll good bra. And I like how you mixed handwritting with text,. Well that's it. When you make a new edition, let's trade again if not sooner fer sure! P.S. good luck with lucid dreaming, glad you got something out of mine ;)
Response: I loved your mix title. It made me sad I don't have a porch. Sharing a drink on the porch is the best. I'm digging the Blitzen Trapper song you put on and a bunch of others. I've gotten a lot of criticism over the years for making mixes of songs that don't sound good side by side. I always have that in mind when I make a mix. For this I was sort of looking for songs that feel relevant politically and emotionally to the moment even though some of the songs themselves are way old. Yeah, we should swap again! That would be cool.
Comment: 10 hearts to you ~ What an excellent package! I certainly will enjoy using all these goodies. I especially love the Valentine coloring book - it will give me many hours of pleasure, if I ever get time to play with it - LOL!
Response: Aw, that is wonderful to hear. So glad you liked it.
Comment: I'm so sorry it took me so long to rate! I misplaced the envelope and just now went through my swaps and opened it. Anyway, thank you so much. I love the faces and the chaos in this ATC. I can relate to it as well. Thank you!!!!
Response: Yeh, that one was a bit personal and confessional for me. I'm really glad you can relate to it.
Comment: Hi Emily! Just received your great package. That tea smells delicious, can't wait to try it! And thank you soooo much for sending me red hemp too. That was so nice of you. I hope you will like journal I sent you :D
Comment: Thank you so much for yet another totally outstanding masterpiece! WOW - I really love it! When I see what you can do with a pen I want to start practice too... I'm in for great disappointment.... But I will admire and treasure the ATC you send me.
Response: I was lucky to get a partner who appreciates it! Thanks so much for all the nice comments.
Comment: Super awesome swap, partner! Love, love the centerfold--which made me literally LOL right there in the post office, with this tall suit type spying over my shoulder. I let him get a good long gander. Bahaha.
Response: Hurray! Good to hear it! While making it, I kept wondering how to get a stock photo of David's tight marble tushie, since they, for some reason, left that out of the calendar I was cutting up for your journal.
Comment: Wow!! Coolest packet of awesomeness EVER!! Especially for a destash!!! I think I'm in love with you!! lol. Everything was Perfect!!!!!! You rock, I love the images So Much! I think I'm going to cry, the bat charm/pendant is amazing and lovely. I love the way you decorated all the envelopes, the images are very much keepers in themselves. I hope we get eachother again!! You rock swapbot, thanks again! A million hearts!
Response: Hey... now I feel warm and fuzzy! I'm really glad you liked my envie. I got the bat in the Etsy shop Charms4Design but they seem to be on vacation now. My favorite part of your profile was the part about "no horrible words like love or memories." I do know what you mean and it made me smile.
i got you postcard today, thanks for the write up i love YA books. Look forward to hunting it down in the bookstore.
Response: It's won some awards and it's very recently published, so it's easy to find in this country. Maybe in yours, too. When I was a teen, Australian YA lit rocked my world!... especially books by John Marsden.
Comment: Thank you for your story. It was really interesting to read, and a bit sad too. This has been a real fun swap, it was great to read each others stories, and they were all so different. Thank you again for sharing!
Comment: Thank you for the comment - it's nice to get to know some other TD members! I haven't seen Howl, but your recommendation made me add it to the top of my "To See" list because I adore James Franco. I will definatley check that out. Pet wise, I have a dog, two cats, four ferrets, two rats, and a turtle. Our garden is 16.5' x 19.2' (it keeps growing) and we just started growing seedlings a few weeks ago, so our second bedroom is crammed full of budding tomato and pepper plans. So yum, though! I hope I run into you soon on TD or on the 'bot. :)
Comment: Hi Emily! Thanks for the nice comments on my profile! I bet all of those great old books you cut up turned out to be beautiful envelopes. Maybe we could swap some sometime! Also, I have seen The Last Unicorn and I absolutely love it! Another one that I also enjoyed was Howl's Moving Castle. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Emily you are a dear. Yes, you will have to try to get to Scotland. I do love it so, but like you not as much as Ireland and England. I love the people of the Isles, and homeland for us. They are spendid.
You are very sweet to leave such a kind message. Thank you. I'll enjoy swapping with you in the future as well. Happy swapping!
Comment: Just got these today, and wow! i love them! :D All were so cool, and i love that you drew them. Your sense of humor rocks. It's hard to pick a favorite, but i cracked up at the prescription from Dr. Wang. Just the other day, a friend of mine said she just couldn't find romance in a holiday whose abbreviation was "VD". Thanks so much for an awesome swap! (Oh, btw, i'm keeping all these for myself. They're just too cool to give away!)
Response: So glad you liked them! I have a friend who likes to say "Happy V.D!" on Valentine's Day so that's where I got that idea from.
Comment: You absolutely turned that ball of yarn into happiness for me! I lovelovelove my arm warmers! You could not have picked a color palette that would delight me more than this one does. You did a great job too. Thank you so much...really. I have them on right now.
Response: It was the boldest color they had at the store. It's nice to know they have a happy home. I had a lot of fun making them.
Comment: Thank you SO much for the beautiful bracelet - I LOVE it! And for the extra little woven bracelet as well - I will wear that one on my ankle :-) I agree, I love contrasted colours too, so I loved the colours you chose! Thank you :-)
Comment: Thanks! Good stuff; liked the extra effort with the tissue-paper packaging, too. I see we share a fondness for Cost Plus!
Response: Yeah, I should have known with the reference to halloween pasta. Are you going to try their thanksgiving themed pasta? I'm glad you liked the package. Not everything was from World Market/ Cost Plus.
Comment: What great timing! I'm so glad I got your package today! I have been dying to watch Beetlejuice and never got around to renting it on netflix! I can't wait to watch it tonight with my wife <3 Everything was so awesome thank you so much!
Response: Whoo hoo! I'm so happy to hear that. Happy Halloween!!
Comment: I'm so late with my rating, I'm so sorry. I dunno why I'm so confused with all my swaps at the moment!
The package is great, there isn't anything I wouldn't want to use! Thank you so much for everything <3
Response: Yes! I was in a zillion swakps this October too so I feel the same way. I'm really glad it made it to you and that you liked it!
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful bracelet, I loved the colors of it! And the tea that you sent was awesome! I especially loved the special tea bag, I don't even want to use it! Thanks again and sorry for the late rate!
Comment: Thank you for the fun package! Love the halloween bag, socks, bat stickes, and my daughter loved the dots!!! she grabed those as soon as I opened the bag..She said you sent those just for her.lol Happy Halloween, Connie
Response: I am so glad that you and your daughter enjoyed the package! I had fun putting it together. I haven't tried the dots myself but I thought it was cool they were blood orange flavored--that's something you don't see every day.
Comment: Muckrakers!! Awesome!! Thanks for the great PC!
Response: Thanks for a swap idea that pushed me to think positively! On my own I'd be more likely to come up with "abysmal moments in human rights history." LOL. I had to put on my thinking cap for this one.
Comment: <3<3 LOVE this ATC! You did a great job. Interesting layout, love the doodles, very cool cat (and stationary), thought-provoking quote. And you sent me two postages stamps not yet in my collection. Thanks for the wonderful package!
Response: I was really pleased to see you liked it!
Comment: Thanks for the nice comments! I love finding other people who like the same books as me. I think Phantom Tollbooth should be required reading in grade school (although I still love it as an adult.)
Comment: Sorry for the late rating - I didnt find my way to the internet recently (; THANK YOU SO MUCH for such an awesome swap! The strawberry shirt is PERFECT and I like it veeeery much! You're a great swapbot swapper! (:
Comment: Emily, thank you for the great list! I have seen a few of those movies including Donnie Darko :) But I have not seen the other Jenna Malone movie which I will definitely watch. Thank you for personalizing this list for me and including all of my favorite genres including tear jerker! I appreciate it and am going to put these on my que now, if they are available to me. I have the $8.99 subscription. Thanks again!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely orange card and funny misspellings! :)
Response: It was hard for me to come up with natural-seeming misspellings. My misspellings were a bit outlandish. I've had friends who spelled badly in ways that I found amusing, I wish I could have remembered more of their misspellings to steal for this! (although "stuped" jumps readily to mind. I loved that one.)
Comment: Oh my goodiness Emily! Thank you for such an amazing swap. I love everything in it! My family are currently chewing on the ginger sweets and I'm wearing the hand woven bracelet and trying not to eat the yummy coconut lip balm! The paper and hand made envies are awesome, they're so unique. I could go on and on but basically I love it all. Thnx so much :) made my day, nay week! xoxo
Response: Maybe I went overboard. I feel it's important to do that when it has so far to go... make it worth it, right? I'm really glad that some of it hit the mark!
Comment: I got the gremlin pattern today, and even though there are more things on the way I wanted to go ahead and rate you because this is THE first item on my wishlist ever since I joined Etsy and before I even learned how to crochet. It's extra-special and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Comment: I love the package!! The Gorey postcards were awesome!! I can't wait to listen to the CD! The pacman candy was great as was the all of the other goodies! You outdid yourself! Way to be fantastic! I avoided the cherry blossom festival just because of all the people but I drive by the tidal pool every day for work so it's still a pretty sight!
Response: So glad you liked the package! I had fun picking it all out.
Comment: i haven't tried the cocoa yet, but i can't wait! your compliments were super sweet and i loved the wrapping paper you chose! thanks so much!
Response: hee. I think you will like it. It's just the whole foods brand, but I felt it was better to go with something I know is good than try an exotic "flavored" brand that is probably way too sweet. That happened before with costplus brand.
Comment: Etsy link #1 AnangkaArts I like her magnets. I made some magnets once but lost them when I moved I'm hoping to find supplies to make more. Etsy Link #2 Ziojioz It's a cool idea to recycle to make cute lil bracklets.
