Comment: Ahh… to have an eleven-year-old around the house! When I want that feeling, I just invite my two grown sons over - some things never change!!!! Thank you for the BEST ever PC. It felt like Nancy Drew time.
Comment: The 10 years Cover to Cover tote arrived, it must be a bookstore tote! Thank you. I'm sorry you paid so much in postage. May I suggest the Canada Post dimensions and a postal scale? Let me know if you'd like to know more (ie: this swap may have only costed $2.95 at most instead of $14.47). Take care fellow Canadian swapper! ~* The Liberals won!
Response: yes, it's my fave little used book store ... plus they sell K-Cup which makes me love them more! and yes, i was a bit taken aback with the postage cost, oh well. Yay Liberals - i was glued to cbc.ca all night, shouting "go red team, go red power rangers!" lol
Comment: Thank you for the great pc. I love the tid bits about the lobster. Thank you for sharing a little part of your life in your note. I love your idea of topping last year's summer goals. May your family have a safe and fun filled summer. I hope we do cross paths again. Thank you for sending cheer.
Response: thank you for the kind words and rating <3
Comment: How could I forget my CPKs? I had two, a regular one and a premie. I liked your letter, we had quite a few things in common. My bedding was Strawberry Shortcake though. I got it for my 5th birthday, and we're about to do the same for my little one, only she's getting Monster High. Times have changed. BUT... I had a computer in the 80s! I remember too that Christimas of 89 or January of 90 was when I conned my grandma into getting me Prodigy, which was pre pre pre AOL. That was awesome.
Response: did you have that giant plastic strawberry "house" toy that Strawberry Shortcake lived in, the one with the carrying handle? i loved that thing!
Comment: Thank you so much for my little parcel of wonderfulness! I came home (after being away for a few days) and sat in the living room chatting to my flatmate for half an hour and then went through to my room to see it sitting on my bed ;D so excited! It's funny that we both got each other things for our feet :] The library I work at re-opens on Monday so I'm going to wear the funky socks as it is a special ocassion :) Thanks for the tea, postcard (up on the kitchen wall) and the LITTLE LEGO LISA! So cool <3 I recently started to collect these- now I have Milhouse, Ralph & Lisa- they are like a collection on their own! :) Thanks again Ami!
Response: i'm collecting the Simpsons LEGO too, i have 7 out of the 16 so far ... i might have to turn to eBay to complete my set! this was a great swap, i'm definitely looking forward to the next <3 whenever you're up for it :)
Comment: Sorry for rating late - unexpected travel and going through my mail took time and I missed this one. Love the NRM PC with a dog - too cute. Spring has barely been here as well - every time we get a warm day then it goes back to cold - last Saturday 75 - then Monday SNOW !! Take care, Annette
Comment: Yay! I got mine too! And I loooove them :) thank you so much!!! I got a spongebob ATC, how awesome is that!? And the strawberry one is sooo cute! I definitely swap with you again :) thank you also for so many extra stickers :) you rock!
Response: definitely a great swap! i really needed an excuse to make a Spongebob card ... so thanks for that ;)
Comment: You've made me the happiest girl in the world! Words cannot express how much I love your art! I wish I had your talent. Chewbacca is my favorite! I don't think he looks like a cactus. lol Thank you so much!
Response: flattery will get you ... kisses <3 and likely more ATCs ;) i'm so glad you liked 'em. great swap :D
Comment: My mom forgot to give me my mail last time around, so I am JUST NOW giving you feedback! Such a wonderful card, it makes me feel so much better about my...monthly issue. X'D I hope to trade with you again sometime! Your art is amazing. <3
Response: i was starting to worry about this swap! i'm so glad you liked it ♥ thanks so much for swapping with me :D
Comment: Thank you so much! I accidentally got a sneak peak of the Pepsi one on the flickr preview on the home page. I could tell it was yours! You have such an awesome drawing style. Such vivid colors! Nailed it. Thanks!
Response: ♥♥♥♥♥ you're very welcome. great swap! ♥♥♥♥♥
Comment: oh you just rock! i love the atcs my mom got a kick outta them! i appreciate you swapping with me and i hope you like the atcs i sent you! i'm not nearly as good of a drawer as you, though! if you ever wanna swap again let me know!
Comment: Holy crap. Worth the wait! These are freakin' awesome again. Go-Go Gadget Goblin! And Mario's goblin suit (complete with boils & critters) is pretty amazing. His pointy little feet are perfect. Put me on the waiting list for another swap! These are so damn cool.
Response: goblin-izing beloved characters is where it's at! if you want Penny and Brain to go with your Gadget, hit me up :)
Comment: If you're not going to be doing inchies again I sure am glad I got the ones you did do, because I really like them!! Thanks wunderland :)
Response: never say never, but the size frustration outweighed the fun factor ... this time around anyway; maybe i just need to become a better artist? or relax! i'm really glad you liked them though - i'm a big pvz fangirl too :D
Comment: This is a great ATC, love love love the rainbow background! I can pretty much tell your ATCs apart, but that's because they have a certain look to them (and that look is hand drawn and super quality!) Looking forward to my inchies lol :D
Response: thanks for the nice comments as always <3 <3 <3 i wondered if my ATCs get boring to receive if they all look the same ... inchies are hard! i'm having so much trouble with the scale, but i like a challenge
Comment: LOVE. Thanks so much, Ami!! I really appreciate that you ATC-ifed the design because I can't save the gorgeous envie forever but I can totally keep the ATC... and I shall! By the way, my partner loved your disco daleks too so thanks for giving me something to share with him.
Response: <3 Yay! You're very welcome: had lots of fun making it :D
Comment: I got the ATC and it is fab! Love it, it's so cute and fun! I've never heard of the game before but it's great. And also thanks so much for the ATC by your son, my son likes it very much! Very cool!! He did great!
Response: <3 always a pleasure. happy moms and boys all around :D
Comment: Thanks for the nice ATC. I don't remember those toys but my husband does!! It's very nice (as always) ^-^
Response: I remember every cheap plastic piece of crap that came out the the 80s! Someday i'll just happen to find the stix at a rummage sale in perfect condition ... someday ;) Always fun sending to you :D
Comment: I don't think there are words to describe my glee at the goldfish with moustaches. This is AMAZING. You are a seriously talented artist - my housemate thought that the envelope was stationary and wanted to know where it had come from when she saw it! Thank you so much!
Response: What a great compliment! Thank you <3 I was happy to get you as a partner again; your profile conjures fun ideas :D
Comment: sign me up for round 2!! wonderful pkg of goodies & my first Canadian lib card:) Hubby is already adding the cocoa mix to his coffee for morning mochas. Fun fabric- my neighbor's business is Wonderwoman Construction so I give her related icon items but this one's a keeper, lol
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you liked everything ... I stress out so bad when I send surprises. You're a great swap partner - see you next swap!!!
Comment: I love it!! This is my favorite one I've received of yours, and ALL of yours are always great. Thanks!!
Response: Thanks for the love <3 I had been itching to Trek something out, Vault Boy was the fortunate victim :D It's nice to know you're not sick of me yet - I'm working on an "H" ATC for you this week!
Comment: Thank you so much for the amazing decorated envie and the ATC and the story! The combined story/ATC made me laugh while I was trying to feed the pets at lunch - Small Dog looked at me like he thought I was crazy. (This is not entirely unusual behavior for Small Dog.)
You are wonderful and deserve all the hearts. Thank you for making me smile on an otherwise dreary Monday!
Response: Is his name actually Small Dog, 'cause that would be a riot! My small dogs' name is Patrick Stewart ------ I hope you think of my envie if you ever have a bad day at work ... maybe lasers will shoot out of your eyes? Maybe ... it could happen ;) Thanks for the love <3
Comment: Definitely not a boring choice! Kermit's who i picked to, for the same reason. I still have all my Muppet's stuff from when i was a kid. Great atc, TY :)
Response: Kermit is the best! He's the Super Mario of the Muppet world: a well-rounded character :D He's always the voice of reason ... I love that. I'm glad this ATC went to a fellow Kermy fan, thanks for giving me heart #200 :)
Comment: I love your zombie page! So...I guess there will be face eating LOL! You are too funny. :) I really love how you made the page look aged and tattered...it does look like it has been through the zombie apocalypse, so mission accomplished! Thanks so much for the awesome art and for hosting such a cool swap! :)
Response: It smelled like it went through the zombie apocalypse too! When I put it in the envie, I thought, wow: you're really gonna smell that I had been burning it ... did the stink wear off? :p FACE EATING!!!
Comment: Thank you Ami! I love the ATC :D You drew it so well, I found drawing Lisa a bit of a struggle :O Hmm as for the 2 episodes that inspired it I'm thinking the episode in which Lisa prints and distrubutes her own newspaper 'The Red Dress Press' and the episode in which she tries to get the bus to the museum on her own & gets lost? Am I right? Do I get a cookie? XD Thank you again!
Response: The cookie is yours :p I can draw Lisa well enough but my markers bleed too much and made her look a bit like an old tattoo! Oh well :) I'd do this swap theme again anytime! Thanks for the heart <3
Comment: He got the ATC and he really likes it, was really happy showing off what he received in the mail to everyone, tell your son thanks!!
Response: Aw, my guy is in bed so I'll tell him in the morning ... he'll be happy and ask me 101 questions that I can't answer about what your boy is doing / thinking :p Great swap; I haven't done a kids swap in a while so I appreciate this ~ thanks. btw, yesterday I bought the Lego Vader clock pictured our swap description for my son for Christmas!
Comment: What wonderful PCs!!! I love the cut-out one and they will go right into my collection, as will the wonderful fairy! I really like the 'missing map and the ship ones too. . . and the zebra that you wrote on is fabulous ~~ thank you so very much!!! I'd give you more hearts if I could ~~
Comment: thoughtful, wonderful pkg -- thank you. Happy to send some tea back your way -- isnt that chai smell awesome? makes my entire cupboard smell good :) book arrived in time for b-day gift & the clips are too cute!
Response: You're very welcome. Am I weird for using tea bags and wax tarts to freshen up my dresser drawers / closets? Because they have to best and most lingering smells. That chai tea knocked me out! Please hoard yours, I'll think I'll go buy a variety of CS now that I've tried it :)
Response: YAY! Chuck is cool. I'd work at the Buy More as long as I didn't have to be a spy on the side ... that's just too much pressure :p Hey, what's up with "B" ... you still didn't rate me for Brain. hahaha
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely chocolates from Canada! We can't get these here in the states and I'm very excited to try them. XD It's 100 degrees out today and surprisingly they arrived unmelted. Hope we can swap more again sometime, your really fun to swap with. Hugz
Response: You're quite welcome, I love trying new chocolate as well so this swap was great! I'm sure we'll meet again in the swapverse :)
Comment: Oh, this was SO worth the wait the postal strike made. They are really awesome. I can't think of anything to suggest. The SW one is so disco and is just awesome. And the ST one is just clever. Great job. I'd give 10 stars if I could.
Response: I'M SO HAPPY these ATCs finally made it to you! I'm glad that you like 'em ... I'm really into glitter glue, can you tell?
Comment: Wowee! What a super mail day for me not one but two swaps from you on the same day :) I absolutely love everything you sent to me and I can't wait to show it all off. The Royal Wedding souvenir pack is far superior to anything I could have bought here. This swap deserves more than one heart :)
Response: Hahaha ... I'm still getting over my pants mistake! Well, I'm very glad that I sent a swap deserving of a heart considering it's from March! Always a pleasure to swap with you Carol. And again, I'm excited to see the magnets you've created :)
Comment: Thank you for such a fun letter! I have a retention pond in my backyard and love the ducks, especially the ducklings. It would be so fun to raise them! I could do without the geese and the poop they leave all over my yard though. I'm kind of a techno-phobe myself and hate cell phones. Mine is ancient and is just a phone-it does nothing else. It's also pre-paid so I never turn it on and don't really want people to call me on it-it annoys people to no end that they can't get a hold of me. Have a great summer-your projects sound like fun!
Response: Oooh, the poop is the worse! Thanks for the heart and for participating in my swap :)
Comment: Ami, this was the best package ever! Teddy got home from PDO today and the package was waiting for him. He tore into it and, at first, was super excited to see the Pokemon lunch box (and he got a Pokemon backpack for his birthday so now he's got the set). But when I told him to open up the lunchbox and he saw the Uxie, he went into orbit. He had to call Daddy right away to tell him. And THEN he saw the stickers. He's in Pokemon overload and life is good. He's asking me to open the kinder surprise and his cars, but I told him he needs to wait for until a little later. Thanks so much for the awesome gifts. It really made his birthday!
Response: YAY! I'm so happy that he liked everything, this swap was so much fun! FYI ... my favourite Pokemon is Dragonite :)
Comment: Oh, Ami, you had me at "strawberry stuffie." This was the SWEETEST (and funniest!) note I've received in a long time! :) And I sooooooooo needed it after the day I had! The balloons were a fun touch, maybe I can fill them up with some of the air from my newly-inflated ego (the result of your note!) :) After reading your profile, it does seem that we might be soul-mates. Let's keep in touch, darling! :)
Response: I'm so glad you're flattered ... meet me at Make Out Point!
Comment: I love how the dog's tongue is sticking out. Also, is that your DS?
Response: Yup, that's my dog AND my DS ... both looking quite pathetic in those photos, but my dog was wet in the sink so he gets a free pass. My DS is just a nightmare that I'm still clinging to until I can afford to pick up the new 3DS
Comment: Ok, this was totally NOT fair! I owe you! You need to set up a new swap where you send me ONE envelope of hot chocolate and I send you 200 postcards. You nut! I love it all and I'm totally serious... I'm'a send you something else to make up for the discrepancy - I can't even *imagine* the shipping you must've paid. Sheesh!
Response: I admit, that's the most I've ever paid for shipping! Who knew hot chocolate could get so heavy ;) I figured I'd go out with a bang since I'm pretty much done swapping 'til 2011. I was going to tuck a bunch of Canadian chocolate bars in instead of more hot chocolate, but I wasn't sure if they'd melt ... I assume the rest of the world is on fire while I'm up here in my igloo and get to the post office by dogsled :p I'm glad you're happy. Don't you dare send me anything else for this swap!!! We'll clash again in the swap-verse ... maybe I'll challenge you to a future swap duel ;)
Comment: Thanks for the fun haiku canoe. Yes, the little haiku made me smile :) I also enjoyed seeing how we each interpreted the swap. Your haiku were all inside of the boat, waiting to be discovered when opened and mine were on the outside. This swap inspired me to make some very large origami cranes with poems written on the outside.
Response: You're welcome of course :) I love the idea of poetry on origami cranes!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely comment on my profile. I am defintiely not the cookie cutter mom and wife. LOL :0)
Response: You're welcome ... I adore honest people who aren't afraid to be themselves, even if they're still trying to find out who that is; I think it should be a constant mission anyway. Thanks for the heart :)
Comment: I am very impressed with you HTML email skills. I don't think I could have managed quite the snazzy looking email. Maybe I am just old. Thank you (oh and I am also totally in love with the TARDIS cookie jar too.
Response: I got a complaint from a swapper once that my emails were hard to read, so now I try to keep them tidy ... I'll take snazzy as a huge compliment :) Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Wow! Ami, thankyou for the marvellous selection of postcards, I really like them all. Canadian stamps are a favourite of mine :) Ta also for the enclosed note explaining your choice of pc's. The railway museum sure looks interesting I hope your son enjoys his summer there.
Thankyou for swapping with me.
Response: You're welcome Carol. I'm glad the cards arrived quickly ... I can't wait to receive mine :) Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Yanno, it's funny.. I was looking at your flickr for some reason, and saw those cards and I was like MAN!! I'd LOVE to get a gameboy postcard. I didn't even realize you were my partner. Then it shows up in my mail and I squeed and my boyfriend tried to steal it and I FREAKING LOVE IT! lol. Out of ALL the systems I had, I never had a gameboy original. I had a GBA, but its still not the same. Thank you!! It was a big hit in our house. :D
Response: Awesome!!! I'm so glad you liked it. They were fun to make, now I want to go scavenging the flea markets to find on old Game Boy just for nostalgia sake. I found a Power Glove once in a dirty old box, but the dude wanted way too much $$$ for it ... lame. Thanks for my 100th heart :)
Comment: Those were great RAK's you did!!! Somebody's got to think of the kids :D And my great great (I don't know how many greats exactly) grandfather Andrew Carnegie would have been proud of your book RAK...he's most well known for his monumental RAK when it comes to sharing books with the world :P Thanks for sharing the details! <333
Response: Thanks so much for the heart :) Reading deserves to be promoted and rewarded ... I dread the day when real books go the way of the dodo bird
Comment: Beyoootiful envelope! I really love the cherry blossoms, they are just the touch of spring needed... and we have no cherry trees down here. I am SO looking forward to the hot chocolate, that stuff is food of the gods. I'm just going to hoard it for now, or as long as I can hold out. Thanks for hosting such fun swaps!
Response: I've got a stash of GdV hot chocolate ... so I'll be your go-to girl if need be ;) I'm glad you liked the envie - thanks for the heart(s)!
Comment: Wow - just got my cootie catcher of awesomeness! The husband and I started playing with it right away, he was very impressed with the 4 different insignia and said (and I quote) "wow, you mean there are other girls like you out there?"
Thank you so much, what fun!
Response: Yes! Score! My goal was that somebody ... anybody ... was as giddy about that cootie catcher as I was :)
Comment: thank you for great postcards, sorry for that late rating, I have forgotten about it
Response: This swap was so long ago ... I always wondered what had happened, but it was around the time when you were nearing the end of your pregnancy, so I just let it be. Thanks so much for the heart :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the package! (Especially the bonus postcard and stickers! :D) No worries; I absolutely love the pc's you sent, and I can't help but smile at the one of the lobster. Thanks again! :)
Response: Yeah, I love that lobster card - it's so hideously fantastic! Thanks so much for the heart and for participating in my swap :)
Comment: Super-cute card! Thanks so much. :)
Sad about the Albertians not knowing where NB is... that is something I would expect from Americans, but surely even they know where each of their own states are! Goodness.
Comment: Hi Ami, Thank you for the postcard, I LOVE it! It's funny! :-) Thanks for taking the time to read my profile and send me something I would like. It's perfect. The stickers too! :-) Happy Holidays to you. Take care, GT
Response: You're very welcome - I'm so glad you liked it! All the best to you during the holidays and the new year - thanks for the HEART :)
Comment: Sorry I took so long to rate! Sometimes when I check my mail on my way to work I forget to rate by the time I get home. I hope you accomplish the things on your bucketlist, Ive always wanted to drive across Canada too, though Id do it in the Bronco, we had a Bronco, I miss that truck..
Response: I think people want to drive across it because of the sheer size - what a huge adventure :)
Comment: it would of been nice if your answers had been in a different colour, kept loseing where i was! i am also a member of postcrossing but not been on for a while.
Response: Agreed - a little effort with colors and fonts helps when reading lists. I had sent out a previous swap list - Countries and Ideas - with lots of colours. I meant to with this list as well, but I got overzealous with sending it out quickly. I'll be more patient next time :)
