Comment: You are too sweet. Thank you so much for remembering the kids. Mason's been really sick today with 103 temperature so what a perfect time for him to receive the stickers. I love the card. Amazing how God just seems to use others to say just the perfect thing! Great answers and great swap. Thanks so much !
Response: Hope Mason gets well soon. And thank you for joining the swap. Part 2 will be up soon!
Comment: Hi Mandie! What a fun way to share about your September! Happy Early B-day to your hubby! Wow, that's a bunch of CDs! Yes, once the kiddos are back in school, lots of Mom stuff to do with them - hope you have a wonderful time! Going to the school sounds awesome, one of my favorite things to do! Thanks for the goodie and share! Always fun to have you as a partner! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Wow, Mandi. This journal is absolutely amazing! I'll have more time to really go through and savour it after we move and get set back up this week, but my page through last night...I love what you did with this, and how you did it! Magpie journaling definitely comes naturally to you. Thank you so much for being part of this swap, and our group! xoxoxo
Response: I'm so glad that you like it! I was a bit worried I'd done too much when it wouldn't hardly shut to mail it! Hahaha I had a blast creating this and I look forward to making more of these!
Comment: Hi Mandi - are you tired of being partners with me yet? LOL! The other swappers need to join up, right?! LOL! Hope Jacob is enjoying 4th grade! Rats would not be my pet of choice but to each their own and sounds like you know what you are doing, so you go girl! Thank you for the share and the goodies! Hugs and Happy Swapping
Response: Hopefully after the summer, things will pick up. But I'm having a blast getting to know you better, too! :-)
Comment: Thank you for this swap.
It's the living word, and it will speak to each of us differently, it was good to read your notes and interpretations, and your everyday challenges. I have verses that were given to me a few years ago, that crop up and still remain a puzzle to me. One such verse has finally revealed itself to me, and it did it through a book that I read, one chapter a week of. The book is called 'Wake up to the Joy of You' and it's by Agapi Stassinopoulus, the chapter in her book was Chapter 32, pg 170 "Often, we don't discover these truths until we are faced with closed doors and forced to dig deeper and excavate the lost TREASURE'.
The Bible verse, which you may have now guessed is: Matthew CH13-44
Response: I know what you mean! I love having these Bible studies because it gives us each a fresh look at verses we may have read hundreds of times. I also like using the notes in my Life Application Study Bible to help me understand some of the verses that tend to make me go "huh?". Especially in some of the parables! I hope to see you in future studies.
Comment: Hi Mandi,
thanks for your answers to this swap in the Bible Study. As always alot of the scriptures that you mentioned are the same ones or similar to the ones that I wrote in my study. Thanks for your personal sharing and honesty. Blessings to you.
Response: Thanks for joining again! I'm enjoying these studies and I hope that you are as well. :-)
Comment: Hi Mandi. Thanks for hosting this swap and letting me take part in it. It was interesting to read some of your answers and the scriptures that you choose from each chapter as I had similar verses /scriptures for me too. Blessings to you.
Response: Thank you for taking part in the swap. I'm having a lot of fun seeing other people's responses too. It's a great way to fellowship and to learn more (at least I hope others feel the same way). Happy swapping!
Comment: Hi Mandi! Thank you for your share about your July - I am partners in another swap and will be sending that out shortly, so will respond to the info you shared! Happy Early Birthday - hope you enjoy wherever the day takes you! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thank you for the early birthday wishes and for rating. Happy swapping!
Comment: Absolute LOVED these - you would never guess you are new to ATC making. The vintage ephemera and images you used are cool. The pressure is now definitely on for me!!! Many thanks for such a great swap!
Response: Thank you for such kind words! I had a blast creating these. I definitely look forward to creating more ATCs in the future.
Comment: Thanks for the lovely and varied clusters. Was worried about the large size of mine as it was hard to judge from the video what the actual sizes were. These are a nice range of sizes as well as quotes that will be put to various uses. Thanks again!
Response: In glad you like them! It was my first time doing these but I really enjoyed it. It was fun using my stash to create new things. Happy swapping!
Comment: The first package was assumed stolen from my porch. Mandi was very responsive and created a new amigurumi doll for my son. It was sent requiring signature confirmation to make sure it wouldn’t be missing again. The doll arrived quickly and Mandi was great with communication.
The doll was beautifully made. My son enjoys his new buddy!
Response: Thank you for rating me and for the great swap experience. I do hope you enjoyed the amigurumi doll. Happy swapping.
Comment: Thank you so much for such a great flipbook! I loved it - and the tuck-ins we're super generous. I will write back too, but I ask for your patience as it may take a bit. But truly, thank you for such a lovely swap! xoxo
Response: I'm so glad you liked the flipbook & tuck-ins! I had a lot of fun creating it. And I look forward to a reply. No rush of course.
Comment: Lovely letter! I got a noise machine last week for my huggie because he complained that i wake him up when I get up early. It totally works and he sleeps through it! Thank you!
Response: I tried a sound machine for my insomnia... it didn't help at all. LOL But now both my little ones have one in their rooms. My big kid (Jacob) doesn't have one but he doesn't seem to have any problem sleeping.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely notecard! My current favorite cleaning product for my kitchen is some Scentsy countertop cleaner. It cleans well and smells so good!
Response: I've never tried any Scentsy stuff. I bought a big bottle of concentrated all-purpose cleaner recently (that you dilute with water into a different spray bottle). It is economical but at the same time I'm ready for something new! I want to try Mrs. Meyers!
Comment: I have read at least 3 of Anita Blake. One of my favorites is the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones. She's hysterical! I actually met Charlaine Harris last year at a book signing!! Love True Blood!
Response: The only authors I've met are Nicolas Sparks and Paula Dean - both at book signings. I have had Laurell K Hamilton respond to a few of my tweets when I had a Twitter! :-) I'll have to check out the Charley Davidson series.
Comment: Thank you so much! Maybe I'm being petty but it's nice to see that you put thought and effort into this, even though it is a simple swap. I appreciate it more than you know. And yes - sloths are the best! xoxo
Response: Thank you! I loved that we both love sloths.
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing your day with me! I wish I could get my little quilt group to participate or even someone from our church! Every time I mention something to do for charity everyone is all in. Then when it comes to the doing it ends up being just me, myself, and I. LOL!
Response: It started as a crochet group, but nobody knew how to crochet and I'm not a good teacher! LOL So we decided to do sewing. I'm a newbie sewer, but I'm enjoying it.
Comment: Thank you for your swap and picture of you and your hubby. I wish more people would send pictures hum maybe I will do a swap about selfie lol. Glad baby girl was ok and you get to finish your night out.
Response: Glad you liked the swap. I saw on your profile that you liked photos of your swap partners and thought since I talked about my husband and I that I would toss in a photo from our wedding. If you do a photo swap, let me know. 😊
Comment: Thanks for doing this for me! Your idea of using a movie case was really cute! I'll make use of it, too. Very clever. My 10 year old grandson asked me what the movie was when he saw the case...he got a giggle out of discovering there was no movie in that case!
Comment: Wow, you really did a beautiful job of documenting and reflecting on your journey through "Sticking to the Budget" for two weeks.
I wish I had documented like you did. I used more symbols and creative twist to my journey.
You did very well and you will get there for sure.
This sounds like a strange question. Do you need your journal back?
I struggled a lot with my budget for early January, didn't do great journaling, just happy to start the process of writing down. I loose receipts all the time so I didn't have many to speak of in my journal, but I did reflect on the spending and where I need to focus. I also embelish with stickers that represented the budget process and included articles that I was reading.
Hopefully my partner will understand my process. Haven't heard back but given the East Coast and other parts of the country had horrible winter storms, thus the mail not moving through.
I am giving her through Friday to rate me and then I will nudge her gently. I have been away and I am due back in town Wednesday, can't imagine the mail pile I am going to encountered.
Your journal is a beautiful example of how to journal and what. I plan to start a full writing journal today on my budget so I stay on target for retirement in September. Trying to cut back to retirement level budget - very hard to do.
Response: Thank you. And no, I don't need it back. I hope I'm better able to stick to my budget as I journal my spending thru each month. :)
Comment: Yes it does seem we have a lot in common. I will write ya back but I am a bit behind so it maybe in a couple of weeks or so. Hope you don't mind that. Happy swapping! Not sure if have Dark Slayer or not i will check my books =D
Response: Just let me know. If you'd like it I can send it.
Comment: Mandi! Thanks so much for the lovely Intro Zine and bonus happy card! I am so lucky to have you as my first swap partner and I have learned so much about good swapping practices from your entire package. As for the content, I feel so much warmth and passion from the zine and I am looking forward to getting to know you better! Also, thank you for making this opportunity available to newbies - it was great to get started right away! Now I am going to start thinking about answers to your questions and send something out to you soon! Take care!
Response: So glad you got it and liked it! Looking forward to a reply. Check out the group I have created for pen pal zines! I'll be hosting another round of this swap soon as well. Have fun on Swap-Bot. Happy swapping!
Comment: sorry (i guess it didn't save it when i first wrote it so here goes, the second times the charm?) - I loved what you sent :), but the most amazing (have to admit) were a few PC that were simply... briliant (simply put) - the best pics i've ever seen on a PC (ever)!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Thank you so much!!
Response: I'm so glad you got the package and that you enjoyed the PCs!
Comment: Hi Mandi: Thank you so much for the beautiful postcard of Fort Myers Beach. My grandfather, who passed away in 1975 used to live down there during the winter months. He loved it there, and after seeing your post card, I can understand why! It's a beautiful place. Thanks again, Have a great weekend, and Happy Swapping! :)
Response: :) I visited there for a week with my mom last October. It was wonderful. I'd love to move there.
Comment: Thanks for the re-send my dear! I used to work in a bookstore (the ill fated Borders) and those books were really popular. The series is right up my alley and I bought the first book but never had the chance to read it! Hopefully I can start sooner rather than later since there's so many books in the series! Thanks for resending and Happy Swapping!
Response: Yes, they're quite popular! Warning, though, the series gets slightly... erotic... in the middle! The author is finally getting back on track though. LOL
Comment: I'm glad that you think philosophy is interesting. I love reading and studying this subject matter. Thank you for your invite to join pinterest. For now I find a girl that is going to invite me soon. Thank you again!
Comment: Your answers made me giggle! I also like the sweet tea vodka. Its so easy to drink when I'm around my family because they think I'm just drinking iced tea! LOL Thanks for joining and happy swapping!
Comment: Thanks heaps for the site. Good luck with your amis. Once you start it does come together pretty quickly. I have only been doing it for six months and when I compair the first ones to the recent ones the difference is amazing.
Response: I made a granny square last night, and it took me an hour! But it was only Day 2 of my learning how to crochet, so I know it will get easier.
Comment: WHAT A FUN PACKAGE! You did an excellent job! Thanks for reading my profile and compiling a great package! Thanks for sending me my first ATC's and Colt will have much fun gluing the box top to his worksheet! Billions of hearts!
Response: I had a BLAST putting the package together! We'll have to do this again sometime!
Comment: LOVE the stamps!!! You sure you want to part with the heart-shaped one??? Thanks so much!
Response: I LOVE the heart shaped one but I didn't want to make an ATC with it (as it wouldn't fit my typical style of ATC) and that is what I do with all my used stamps, so I decided it would be best to pass it on to someone who would love it as much as I do! :-)
Comment: Very nice swap-neat and fun to read! Thanks so much for the stickers for my kids too. I really enjoyed reading about your life and appreciate the effort you put into this swap-I look forward to swapping with you again sometime! You single-handedly restored my faith in journal swappers :)
Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed the journal! It was my first so I was trying to make sure it was neat & well put together. :-) I'm glad you have faith in journal swaps once again! It's terrible when someone gets flaked on!
Comment: Your ATC's are very nice -- they don't look like a beginner's work to me! I especially like the Italy one, as we lived in Sicily for 2 years before moving to AZ, and the Paris one also strikes a chord because I majored in French at the Univ. of Alaska/Fairbanks! Keep up the good work, and happy swapping!
Response: I'm glad you like the cards! :-) Let me know if you ever want to do a private swap.
Comment: Being crafty is fun. You should give it a try! I learn how to do most things by reading about it in a book or finding a tutorial online. ATCs are a great place to start..you should find a newbie friendly ATC swap. Thanks for making my profile less lonely.
Comment: Thank you Mandi for the interesting letter and the extras! My daughter thanks you very much for the stamps for her church's mission. I am down with a terrible cold, but as soon as I am better, I will get a letter back to you. Hugs!
