Comment: What a fun A to Z list you sent me!! I enjoyed reading it!! We have a few likes in common....Foghorn Leghorn, hot chocolate, lilacs, mountains, naps on rainy days, watermelon, fresh cut wood...what a treat to get such fun happy mail!
Response: Thank you, I hope we get paired up again. I have foghorn on my keychain, and now I have a great grandson named Henry my own little Henry .chicken hawk Ha ha
Comment: Thank you for the lovely spring package, Marcia! The post-its are so cute and I'll plant the marigolds in a pot on the deck--I've never been one for digging around in the dirt outside ;=)--it's container gardening for me! Do you enjoy Ohio? I don't like the heat so the summers are brutal for me. Thanks again and hope we're partnered again soon!
Comment: Marcia ~ I LOVE that fabric, it's so fun! Thank you so much! Love the buttons too! My grand kids LOVE to play with my buttons too and I have a ton! After they are here I find buttons around the house for days!! Thank you again! :)
Comment: Great technique used on this ATC, and love the little extras. These crochet hearts are adorable. First time I received a crochet item, and I love it ......something different. Can't wait to use them with my card making. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Hi Marcia! Received your box today, with the cutest Elephant ever! Thank you so much! My one grand daughter will see it for sure, when I display it on my one shelf. Every time she sees something new, she thinks she has to have it, LOL! She's 5 yrs. old & loves stuffed animals! Any way, want to thank you for the awesome knitted dish cloth & buttons & eyes! Love all! Thank you again! Debbie
Comment: Marcia, the yellow fabric is great. I love the assortment of buttons, Thank you for sharing with me. I noticed pricing of sewing things has gone way out of hand. I used to make all my clothes and my daughters in the 60's and early 70's, then found out it was cheaper to buy them. Thank you so much for the fabric and buttons, Shirley
Comment: Thank you for the bright yellow fabric. Iam working on a quilt with bright spring colors and this will go nicely. We live about 2 hours from Amish in PA. The past few years we have spent a long weekend there in the fall, we really enjoy it.
Comment: Thank you for the dish clothes. I needed some new ones and these will fit perfectly. They are beautiful. Also thank you so much for the recipes. I will cherish them as they are from your childhood and are hand written. You are such a great partner and I am glad you were mine again.
Comment: Sorry about the delay on rating. I had set aside the package and just found it. WOW!!!! love the bag. Thread painted flowers are great! I will use this as my new purse. I had made my daughter clothes out of some of the scraps you used. Memories. :)
Comment: WOW... Thank you for everything. The blue yarn and the boot topper pattern. The very cute handmade little purse and the recipes, along with the letter. You are such a great swap partner. Many hearts to you and a very high rating.....
Thank You again.
Response: so glad you liked everything, I felt like I knew you and it was easy to pick things out for you. I too loved to make jelly and jam when my children were younger. It brought back many pleasant memories best wishes.
Comment: Hi Marcia! I see you are in New Comerstown. I pass that way when I go to Amish Country.
Love your cute monkey glass. It will be a great one for kids to find! I think that I will leave it at the library on a book shelf . Thanks too for the lovely necklace. It's truly beautiful. Thank you!
Response: Hi, I love to go to the Amish communities too. I am glad you like the monkey . I love children, I was a kindergarten teacher many years ago, cub scout den mother and 4-H leader for 18 years. ha ha and Yes , I had 5 children of my o wn. Isn't this the most fun swap.? I felt like a elf leaving my abandoned art in the chair in a library also. ha ha
Comment: Wow... You made my day with these beautiful and so accurately made gifts. You are very creative and diligent. I am very happy being your partner. Thank you so much. Wish you inspiration and cozy winter :)
Comment: I loved reading your letter. I read the part about your childhood memory to my Hubby. He said you could be one of the Waltons. Maybe John Boy's sisters had the same experience. LOL. Thanks for sharing your life with me. Hugs, Diane
Comment: Thank you so much for the washcloth, I am very happy you spent the time making one with my favorite colors together! It shows you took the time to read my profile, which was a lot I know.
I wish I could give you more thatn one heart! <3<3<3
Comment: Marcia, I have read The Longest Ride some time ago. I just might read it again. The newspaper in New Bern, NC just had a huge front page article along with a picture of Nicholas Sparks and his wife getting a divorce. I didn't think it should have been so overblown, but it was. Guess they don't have anything else to write about. Shirley
Response: thanks, so sad about them getting a divorce, but I agree it is their business alone, not to be blasted over the news, I am a divorcee myself, many years ago, I lived in small town so it was big news there, but many wondered why I waited so long, I had children and never regretted taking them out of the situation, I do love his books, I think I have read all of them, Marcia
Comment: Hello Marcia:
The postal service man just delivered the package to my door. The color of the scarf is a very lovely and rich deep royal blue. I like the color very much. Is this a knitted scarf? I crochet and it doesn't look like it's crocheted. Also, I've never seen any yarn texture like this before. It's very nubby, but soft to the touch, which is very different. What brand yarn is it?
Comment: Hi, love to hear good words about my beloved state! I'm a lifer Oregonian! Some of my "people" hail from the Roseburg area, tho I grew up in Eastern Oregon, graduated from OSU & now live in the PDX-burbs. <3 it!
Comment: thank you so very much for this lovely swap.
I felt really christmassy, when I opened it, and I loved everything - especially the football-hat! Your parcel was waiting for me, when we came home from the hospital (we have a baby boy:)) and even though it is still a bit big, we just had to try it on right away:) Would love to do a swap with you sometime in the new year?
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful recipes and the sweet letter. I will definitely be making these recipes, especially the fudge. Happy belated birthday! I hope it was a wonderful day!
Response: Thank you for the birthday wishes. I hope you enjoy the recipes, as I said they have been in my recipe box for many years, ( you can always tell the good ones by the stains for the ingredients on them) LOL
Comment: Wow, I've just spent the past half hour doing research into Kurt Muse's life. Fascinating! Thank you for sending me on this trail, I never even knew about the rule of noriega and conflict in Panama.
Thank you for the insight!
Comment: Thank you for the yummy sounding recipe. I bake with my six year old granddaughter so will make them with her. I used to work for the City of Garden Grove. That was 25 or so years ago but I enjoyed it.
Comment: Thank you very much! I love the page you picked, a little gory, certainly makes the whole thing interesting! :D Thank you also for the bookmark, it was a really neat swap. I will have a read into Mrs. Roberts' books. :)
Comment: Thank you so much marcia for the delightful little package you sent. I love the snowman pin and will certainly enjoy opening up my special christmas gift from you on christmas morning. I'll be sure to come back and comment at that time. Thanks and hope you have a Merry Christmas. OMG, I opened it up early and WOW, what a beautiful scarf. I love it and I will be wearing it on Christmas day. It's just beautiful and thank you so much for making it for me.
Response: I am so glad you liked the scarf, I make them for craft fairs and quarter auctions here in Ohio, as well as gifts for my family and friends. Every one keeps telling me I should teach a class, maybe I will when the roads are not so bad. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Comment: Haha, how wonderful! The hat is so great, no wonder they're popular where you live. The tassel on top, the flower on the side, it's so funny! You've really put quite a lot of effort into this one. Thank you so much :D
Response: I am so glad you liked it. I read your profile and you sounded like a fun person who would like something that was different than the ordinary, after I sent it, I was afraid that maybe I over stepped and I was worried that I had made a mistake. I am so glad I read you right. LOL I loved making it for you. Marcia
Comment: Thanks for the memories -- you are the second partner who grew up on a farm at almost the same time as I was growing up on a farm in Indiana. We all had happy childhoods, I think that says something important and farm life a mid-20th century.
Comment: Wow, you really pampered me there, Marcia! Thank you very much for the assortment of interesting hot chocolate types - some even with marshmallows! That's something I've heard of but have never tried before! I can't wait to try them all! Thank you so much!
Response: I had heard that you didn't get marshmellows in hot chocolate there, so I always try to send that type. The marshmellow in chocolate is big with kids and adults here, also whipped cream. ha ha Enjoy them, Too bad postage is so high, or I could have just sent you a box of them. Do you have flavored marshmellow there?
Comment: My grandparents lived in Akron for many years and my mom grew up there too. As a child I'd spend part of my summer in Ohio. My grandparents would often take us to Amish Country- my sister and I were obsessed with apple butter and peanut butter whip and would buy jars of it to bring home! My grandmother just passed away a couple of weeks ago and your PC brought back happy memories. Thanks!! Long comment sorry lol
Response: thank you, and the comment was wonderful. We have apple butter festival near here at Roscoe Village . It is a village near Coshocton, that has reinactments, and the village has all the old buildings, with the businesses the same as they were in the early 1800's. So happy I was given your name to swap with. Marcia
Comment: Oh, wow, thank you very much for the special bookmark, it is so cool! It is just amazing, how you thought of ways to make this simple swap into an extra- ordinary one! I wish I thought about that!
Comment: Thank you for the great ATC Marcia! As a book lover myself I know how hard it can be to "destroy" one for other uses but I think in some cases it is worth it because the book will live on in other means. Happy Swapping. :)
Comment: Thank you for the lovely letter...I can hardly believe that you were in Tustin long ago! Oh, how the world is small! I am originally from Michigan and we have Amish not too far from us as we'll...your town sounds fascinating...I love old historical buildings, etc .... Enjoy the rest of your summer!!! Thank you also for the bookmark and postcards!
Comment: I enjoyed your letter so much! Your stories were inspiring, you're an awesome woman! I could relate to the wonderful recollection of camping trips, that was so enjoyable to read. Oh and fyi, I'm not a fan of katsup either, and I get a lot of flak for that! Thank you for the recipes as well, what a great letter.
Response: thank you, Once I got started I felt like I was talking to a old friend, and the memories of camping, etc, made me happy to remember them, and I forgot to tell you about the time the dog grabbed the steak off the campfire, we ate hot dogs that night, the dog slept with a smile on his face. we will never forget that trip. LOL thanks again
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful scarf - I love it! I put it on right away and got so many compliments :)
Response: I am so glad you liked it, I struggled with what to send, I injured myself in a fall in Dec. and was housebound for some time , so I got a lot of scarves made for craft shows and quarter auctions, they are very popular here, so I hoped you would like it. Then it was what color should I send? ha ha thanks for the heart.
Comment: I am truly sorry for not rating you until now. You sent a wonderful package. I loved the fold up purple bag and the purple material. Heck I love it all. You are A plus swapper my dear. I had been in the hospital for over a week and a half. I had to have surgery. They went and strapped me into the cat scan machine and put me half under and then I was on my side the they numbed my neck and put a wire in the mass and took the pictures. Then rushed me to the OR and removed the mass. I had a small one removed a couple years ago but this one was deeper near the spine. And then I had a hard time breathing and they thought I had a blood clot in my lung. But, they took care it. Thank you again for swapping.
Comment: Thanks Marcia, you plainted a really good picture of the chicken farm and the school and the things you did for fun. I was a farmer's daugther in Indiana and relate to some of it- the no friends nearby part especially except you got lucky.
Comment: Thank you Marcia... I don't sew but this will allow be to pass on a few things to my swaps that are sewers... thank you fo everything else though!
Response: sorry, I should have read your profile more thoroughly. I have been recuperating from a fall, had blood on my brain, and I think I was not concentrating on what I was reading well enough. Did I send enough things that you could use? I don't do paper things so I had no extra things there. But I am sure I could find something else to send.
Comment: Thank you! I enjoyed reading your letters each week. The monkey cup warmer/muff that I received this last week was cute. I haven't seen that pattern before. :) Thank you for sharing yourself with me these past 6 weeks. :)
Comment: Loved the hand painted black cat on your ATC! You did a great job on it and I hope you'll keep working on ATC art...it gets easier to play around and be confident the more you go for it. <3 Have a great Halloween!
Comment: Thank you! I loved her book "Seperate Beds." I have read only some of the Outlander series, but enjoy each book I get through. I really just need to get reading in general. I just arrived at school and have virtually stopped reading. It's terrible! I am rather home-sick for it...=/
Response: I understand, you have so much to read for school you won't have much time for pleasure reading. School is important, Stick to it, It will pay off in the end. I remember my kids complaining because they had no time to read. Now they have their degrees and are working well. I used to send care packages and that helped with the homesickness. hopefully your mom will too. Best wishes Marcia
Comment: It's lovely....love the butterfly! Thank you so much!
Response: you are very welcome, I had fun making the butterflys for the holicaust swap we did, so decided to see If I could make some small enough for a ATC. I am stil learning to make them, but like doing them very much.
Comment: Thank you! Nice handmade tote :) Love the cat card!
Response: so glad you like it. I love to try new patterns for totes. I have two tom cats, They are my buddies. ha ha So I enjoycats. my daughter has two batches of kittens right now, someone forgot to take them to the vet for clipping. My granddaughter is in heaven, She has them all named. ha ha
Comment: Thank you for the postcard, nice to meet you.
Response: Thank you, I have found alot of friendly ladies on swap bot, It has been loads of fun. I had a sis named Barbara, We called her Bobi , She was everyones favorite aunt., so your name reminded me of her.
Comment: Thank you for all the goodies in the tin, I love the tin itself and the crochet gloves! They're a tiny bit big, but that's ok, they are beautiful! :)
Response: so glad you like the gloves, If you find some yarn you like some time send it and I will make you a pair smaller. Those were suppose to be medium, but they came out larger than I planned. I happen to find two tins alike so now you and I have matching tins. LOL
Comment: Very nice card, thank you. My husband use to haul logs not as big as this I doubt! He will get a kick out of this card.
Response: I lived near Roseburg Oregon, well known as the timber capital. These loads with only one log were not common, but the loggers who had them would wait till just before dark to bring them out of the woods, as by then the scales were usually closed and they could sneak by without having to be weighed.( and fined for having a overweight load. Then they would park their truck in a lot such as a big grocery store has, so they could get them in the mill as soon as it opened in the morning. sneaky little devils. LOL
Comment: Thanks for the lovely dishcloth! That is funny that your son used to live here; my sister-in-law's family lives near Tremonton. :) Most people have never heard of Vernal, so is nice that someone here has heard of it.
Response: I used to live in a little town called Tenmile, It was named for the distance from the last stagecoach stop, back when they ran. Strange the names of some of the small towns isn't it?
Comment: Wow- you must have mailed quick! Thanks for the red square - great stitch pattern, and shows what a great knitter you are! Thanks again, Meg.
Response: Thank you, I knit while I watch tv in the evening. So when I signed up for this swap, I knit the squares one evening and had them ready to go. I love to make up patterns, So I knit lots of scarves to try out different options. I found a book once that showed how to make your own sweater patterns, so I drew squirrels that my young son wanted on a sweater and then made a graph and made his squirrel sweater. That sweater got passed down through all of my kids, with new buttons added along the way. ha ha
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely ornament. i can;t wait to put it on my tree! :)
ANd thank you for the extra careful packaging! I have atcually kept one of the walmart bags as a sort of souvenir! :)
Response: so glad it got there in one piece. ha ha I made one for my grandson of Sponge bob, I hit the car door with it as I got out of the car, and smashed it to tiny pieces. I made a new ornament for each of my children as they grew up. Then gave them the box of ornaments to take to their new home when they moved out for their first christmas tree. I try to date them, it is fun watching them remembering when they received each one. LOL
Comment: hey marcia.loved the bag was out of this world... any time you fancy a natter pm me or if you like to write to me even better ... you stay in touch look after yourself hugs rea
Response: glad you liked it, I love to sew. I did a baby quilt and the browns were left overs, a friend of my daughter's wanted a cow quilt for his first baby, in browns and cordinating colors. Brown happens to be one of my favorite colors too. I would love to correspond with you, You could teach me how to do some of the things on swap-bot . I keep busy doing crafts and reading, but could always use another friend.
Comment: Thank you so much for such a stunning, beautiful hand painted ornament. I am going to hang it in my bedroom window and keep it out all year long. My bedroom is pink!
Response: so happy it didn't get broken, I tried hard to find a way to pack it. ha ha I love to paint, Perhaps I will get you for a partner again, and I will find something else to paint for you. It is so much fun to make something and know it is appreciated. thank you.
Comment: YUM! The buckeyes were melted :( but I threw them in the freezer and they were de-lish! I also really enjoyed the sassafras drops - I love sassafras. It reminds me of haning out with my dad when I was a kid. He also really liked sassafras. :) Thank you so much!
Comment: What a fabulous package I received in the mail today! The fairy is so FABULOUS!!! I can hardly wait to frame it and place it on the wall. I know Sage will love it. The scarf is soooo me. In the fall and winter, I wear one every day. The beading makes it very special. Love the little ghost. I am already anxious for fall and Halloween. Everything is just perfect and we will make a fairy chair this weekend. Love to give you 100 hearts but they won't let me. Thank you so much for making my day. Hugs, Mona
Response: so glad you liked the fairy. I had planned to make you a tote and put the fairy on it, but time got away from me. I had a book on painting that was fairies and elves, but don't know if I still have it. I will look incase I get you again. ha ha
Comment: Before I decide if I want to read a book I always read the first couple of pages... I read the first few pages right after I opened the book you sent and was HOOKED!!! I can't wait to continue!! Thanks so much!
