Comment: It's always so nice to be your swap partner! I found your letter to be incredible and I totally understand about the whole "enjoy" thing, I've read books like that too. I hope all is well with yourself and those you love. Thanks again for joining this swap, I really loved your letter!
Comment: I am amazed that you can read so many books a month, I barely read a couple, haha! I remember watching documentary videos about hanyeo several years ago and your WW2 book selection seems intrigung, thanks for sharing your reading list!
Comment: I always laugh a bit at the reasons for books being on the banned list. That the Bible is on the list for 'religious text' always makes me laugh. Most religious texts are on the banned list, though, for the same reason. But really, what do people expect religious books to be about?! Oh well.
Comment: Libraries are just full of unknown potential aren't they? I love that you go to old libraries. I have been to two older ones here where I live (Montreal) even though I wasn't a member of either. I just poked around for hours. The one had a very narrow wooden staircase that led up to a partial floor that made you feel like you were entering some secret stash :)
Comment: Hi - Yes, I have heard about that phone box in Japan. I think we watched a documentary about it, actually. I didn't realize there was also a book. I think it is a very nice idea. Maybe we need more things like that. :)
Thanks for sharing. :)
Comment: Thanks for the swap. Sorry for the delay in rating. I have been non-coved related ill.
I'll be reading the Bee Bus book. I love bees. Helped my Uncle when I was a child. He put out sugar water and I would follow the bee-line to their nest and mark the tree. He would go out at night and get it and bring it to one of his hives.
Comment: Thank you for the email letter swap! It was nice getting to know about your and your country. Even I love swapbot letter and crafty swaps but sticking to email swaps due to COVID. Take care. :)
And sorry that you had to send the e-letter thrice.
Comment: Thank you for sharing this books with me, Karen! The both of them sounds interesting. I've just check "After the Flood" - in Bulgaria the rating is 4.85 from 5. I will put it in my list "what to read next".
Comment: Thanks for sharing. I will definitely read After the flood, I'm gonna check if it's avaliable around here somewhere. I can't help but thinking the same was as you do when reading a book, especially this one :)
Comment: Yes a Mustang car and travel the world would be amazing don't you think. I love the sound of a starting Mustang car (unfortunately there aren't many around here) Thanks for sharing and hopefully we will a lottery soon.
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing! Hmm... A house by the sea might be nice if it was far enough away that you aren't right on a beach. Too much sand. Have a wonderful day and stay safe!
Comment: LOVE NZ! Some Kiwi friends of ours took us on a tour of NZ some time ago. The LOR tours were just getting set up, so we missed that. You are very lucky to live there! It's beautiful and the people are so friendly! It's a very healthy country! Your comment was very informative.
Comment: Ms. Karen you sound like you Have GREAT FAITH!! I felt like this was an amazing verse because they had to BELIEVE BEFORE it was TRUE just lIKE we do AFTER it was true AND BEFORE THE SECOND COMING!! you JUST BELIEVE. Quoting from one of my favorite Christmas movies growing up!! "Seeing isn't believing; Believing is Seeing!!" I'm pretty sure that was The Santa Claus but when I started to write it I thought it was Miracle on 34th Street LOL
Comment: Kasa: Lifting you up in thoughts and prayers as you miss your Mom this year. I'm sure she's watching out for you and knows how much she's loved. Stay safe. Stay Healthy. Wash your hands. Wear a mask when outside. Be blessed.
Comment: Hi Karen, thanks for swapping with me. Take care during this time. So many strong inspirational women of the Bible. I especially love Esther and how she was reminded... Perhaps you were made for such a time as this!
Comment: I’m so sorry about your mom and not being able to bring her flowers on this 1st year 🙁 and not being able to see your brother during this time either...I hope that things ease up soon so you can do the things you would like to do...stay safe and healthy
Comment: Today I wore a mask in Walmart and My asthma made it sooooo hard to breathe that I almost like DIED (passed out as Kyle said, he's probably more accurate LOL) and I had to go with out it. It is sad the way we have to live now!!
Comment: That's so disheartening that you could not visit your mother's grave with flowers. I'm so sorry. I actually miss going to the post office too! I did just buy some stamps on line though - if that helps. Stay healthy and safe.
Comment: Hi Karen Be, you were not really my partner but having given you a ‘5’ it wouldn’t let me out! Apologies to your genuine partner who will wonder why your comment is already completed. Oh no, now I see all ten are not the ones assigned, hey ho! Stay well, best wishes, Jane xx
Comment: Im also intensely enjoying the peace and quiet of these unique times.. I was Always kind of a hermit, and now I don't have to feel guilty anymore hehehe
Wishing you and your family good health!
Comment: Thank you for your book reviews! The books sound very interesting and I love that you're interested in history. I put the first book on my "to read" list. :) I hope you and your family is safe and healthy too! ♥
Response: Thank you . Hope you enjoy the book if you get to read it. Happy Easter.
Comment: Thank you for contributing to another thought provoking round of LQ - the kidneys was an AMAZING answer! I really appreciate your sharing a bit about how you sacrificed to keep your sister alive too! What an encouraging reality to inspire all of us through this time of uncertainty!
Response: Thank you for your compliments . Happy Easter to you.
Comment: The human body is an amazing thing. Thanks for playing. My 31 year old needs a kidney, so I liked your comment. Thanks for giving.
Response: Thank you for sharing about your 31 year old needing a kidney. Praying that they get one soon. Their life will be so much better for it and the donor will be an inspiration to others by making a really positive difference to someone else. Happy Easter.
Comment: Thanks for the great list. Sorry the rating is late. I just found it in my SPAM folder.
You are in the majority. The US accounts for about 70% of eBay buyers and less than a third of the adults population here has purchased from it.
Response: Thanks for reply to my email. A lot of my emails are ending up in people's spam/ junk mail so I appreciate the fact that you went looking for it.
Comment: Sorry it took me so long to rate: your email was buried in my 'promotions' box for some reason! That said, I have printed off your email so I can remember to see if I can get the titles you read from the library - once they open again, that is! I have only read one book by David Baldacci - not the one you did - and none of the other three, so I think I am in for a treat. Thanks for sharing! Take care, Tracy.
Response: Thanks for your rating. lately my emails have been going into people's spam/junk mail so you are not the only one. Hope you enjoy the books if you can read them if and when the libraries open again. Happy reading.
Comment: Thank you so much for your touching recommendation ! I have set it on my wishlist immediately. Do you know that there is another book about one of the main characters ? Thanks for sharing this special book !!!!
Comment: Hi Karen, I would have to say that your lie is #3, that you spent a month in Japan as a foreign exchange student. Please message me and let me know if I got it right or not, okay? Thanks!
Response: hi there, sorry but I actually did spend some time in Japan as an exchange student. the lie was that I spent time on a cruise traveling around the south pacific. I have never been on a cruise but it is on my bucket list. blessings.
Comment: I loved reading your Alphabet answers. Very creative, and they let us see a bit of you. I'm so sorry about your mom passing. My mom passed away in 2008 and I still miss her every day. Your mama will always be a piece of your heart. Prayers!
Comment: Thank you for your letter Karen! I hope you had a good time on Christmas despite the bad year you’ve had, and may 2020 be a lot better for you!!! - also always funny to read about Christmas in the summer time haha!
Comment: This card got here quick, for as far as it traveled! I'm very sorry to hear about your mum; losing one's mother is definitely one of life's toughest blows. I hope your heart finds peace & comfort soon, thank you for your beautiful postcard.
Response: Thank you for your comments and I realize that you have also loss someone you loved and I pray peace and comfort for you as well.
Comment: Sounds like you are trying to get organized. I might have to look for a couple of those books because I am always looking for new ways. The Rainbows one sounds especially interesting. I’m sorry you lost your mother. That is so hard. My Dad died in October 2002 and my Mom in January 2004. I went through a grieving period it seemed nobody else understood because I had a family I still had to care for, so I just trudged on. It’s been 15 years, but I still think about them every day.
Comment: Thanks for all the info about your library. It's great that you have so many different things for people who speak different languages. We used to have a Spanish class, but I don't think it still exists. We do have a program that explores food in various parts of the world - and that's cool. Libraries are such great places to explore so much more than books!
Response: Thank you for sharing with me about the program that explores food from different parts of the world, That sounds good. The libraries are my happy place. Happy reading.
Comment: Hi Karen, I am praying for your requests. Thank you for sharing with me. I feel it is a privilege to lift up your requests to our Heavenly Father. I have placed your letter in my Bible and will pray daily. I am sending you a hug from South Carolina. You have touched my heart.
Comment: Thank you for my letter. I will be responding and sending you a letter- I am new to swap boy so I’m not sure what the friendship book is, can you explain what I need to do with it? It’s very interesting! Thanks so much!
Response: Have sent you a pm relating to my address and friendship books. Looking forward to your letter,
Comment: I absolutely loved reading your swap and thank you so, so much for not just writing as little as you could like some have done. (Grr!) When I can get things caught up on and time to do it, I plan on messaging you back. Have a wonderful day, friend!
Response: Thank you. If you have time to message me back that would be great. it would be nice to hear from you. Blessings,, Karen.
Comment: Oh Karen I'm sorry about what happened in New Zealand. We didn't hear anything about that in the news, but I suspect we will in a day or two. I love handmade envelopes. I always do my envelopes, no matter if it's not needed. I feel like it will better stand out in someone else's postbox and make them happier. Losing a person is very hard and it's nothing like losing a house or car, etc. There is nothing material that will help them, but praying for them to get their justice. Wishing you to have a nice weekend and hope everything goes well with the dentist. Thank you for your stamps, we'll always remember you. Because of you he started getting serious in this and now his collection is 100x bigger then before.
Response: Thank you for your support and encouragement , it is very much appreciated. I am so pleased that your dad is back into stamp collecting. PM me with your address if he would like more stamps as I have a few here that he can have. Enjoy your weekend.
Comment: Happy Women's Day to you! I enjoyed reading your PC... But right now I can't help but to think about the situation in Christchurch right now. I hope you and your love ones are okay. We'll be thinking of Christchurch tonight (:
Response: oh thank you so much. Bless you for thinking about the horrible situation in Christchurch. It seems so unreal, we are heart broken. Fortunately my loved ones are ok. Thank you so much for thinking about us. That means so much to me.
Comment: Thanks you so much for the in depth response to the questions, I know what you mean about minimalist life and keeping things simple. Apologies for getting back to you and rating so late and wishing you a wonderful 2019. I hope all your plans come together - God Bless :) ~ Kate
Comment: I really enjoyed reading about your reads, thank you for sharing with me. I had been curiously circling "The President Is Missing" for a while trying to decide if I wanted to give it a go, thanks to you I'm taking the plunge. It's so out of my usual genre so I'm excited for a new reading adventure--enjoy all your own this year and all the best to you.
Comment: Thanks for the great swap.
I always think that electronic swaps should have multiple partners. After the time and effort to do it, it can easily be shared with several people. Thus, although not my assigned Partner, I'm going to email you mine to read or not, as you wish.
Comment: Enjoyed seeing the birds that you saw on your hike. I've never been to NZ so it was a treat for me to see them - even if it was only in photos. I can only imagine how exciting it was to see a rare bird. I love watching the birds here in Minnesota (U.S.), and am thrilled when I see a type I've never seen before.
Response: Thank you. I am glad you like watching birds as well. Happy New Year to you.
Comment: Thank you very much for the nice Christmas card, the Christmas stamps and the extra postcard .Happy to read we like similar things ❤
Wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ! Monique
Comment: Thank you sooo much for the letter :) I really loved it, prepared with lots of care and love, and it really made my day! Thank you for including the stamps and postcard. I hope you can spend some other time here in Spain. I wish one day I could go visit the Bay of Islands. Abby will write you back soon. Have a great day!
Response: Pleased the letter made your day. I have sent you a pm with address. Looking forward to hearing from Abby. Happy swapping.
Comment: Nice to meet another Compassion sponsor! I have lost a few kids when they left the program and one girl, the very first I sponsored, because she's in India and India said groups like Compassion couldn't work there any more. But it's a great organization and I'm so glad to be involved!
(And great news on the kidney!)
Comment: Karen, I am blessed beyond belief with the beautiful verses you wrote out for me ♥ I have read and reread them. Thank you so much! I will have this card up for good days and upside down days! I really like the postcard of NZ, and thank you for the Scripture one too and the sweet puppy note paper. ♥ God bless you dear sister in Christ. :o)
Comment: Thanks for the swap, Karen. Funny about seasons. When my daughter was 5, we moved from the Mid-West to California. It was a sunny December and she kept saying 'It cannot be Christmas, where is the snow?' We told her there will never be snow for Christmas here and she said 'I want to go back to my old land'.....lol
Comment: Thanks for the lovely note and cool PC! Still not much going on here as far as film goes, although it looks like it could be picking up a little. I'm heading to Buenos Aires tomorrow, but I'll write when I get back. Or would you like a PC from there?
Comment: Thank you so much for the wonderful email Karen. I loved your jab about our Springboks. I've travelled to Auckland twice because my sister lives in Algies Bay so I know the beautiful place you live in. xxx
Comment: Thank you so much. I love the card you sent. We still have heat and humidity here even though Saturday is the first day of fall for us. It was almost 90. Spring is probably my favorite season! Thanks for joining and I'll get your card on it's way! Oh and the little bag with envelope inside was adorable!
Comment: Interesting prompt idea!! I'm going to have to have a long think of what to do. The first thing on my list is ordering dessert first at a restaurant, then main, then starter! A little tame I know but :) thank you for your prompt!!
Comment: Hi Karen. Thank you so much for the nice letter. The card is beautiful a I love that it’s made by a student. I would love to have a pen pal from New Zealand! There was a lot I didn’t know about it. I will get a letter ready to send soon.😀
Response: Thank you, I look forward to your letter. Happy swapping.
Comment: Yesterday I received a big bag of bills, junk mail and swaps postmarked from May-June with no explanation where it's been hiding all this time. I'm slowly rating swaps so that's why you got rated for a swap from months ago.
Response: Bless you. Praying that the mail gets to you on time and at the right place. God bless.
Comment: I GOT IT!!!! The address looked okay on the first one. I don't understand why it got returned. I'm thinking that with the last name of 'Stock', maybe they assumed I was a business instead of a person?? It came through just fine when you addressed it to Steve! I don't understand what is going on with the mail system. Thank you for trying again with this. I appreciate it!
Response: not a problem. You are welcome. Thanks for letting me resend. Hope your mail gets sorted out. Look forward to swapping with you again especially the colouring pc.
Comment: Wow, can't believe I got the PC so quickly from New Zealand! This is my first Free Ad Card Swap; it will be fun to do more just to see what I get! Yes, it's hot here but we've had rain lately so it's has cooled off a little! My baby says thanks for the compliment! Thank you!
Response: You are more than welcome. Sorry meant to respond earlier. Enjoy the swaps especially the free card ones and hope you get cards from all around the world. Happy swapping.
Comment: Hi! It arrived with the post today :D It must have been on an adventure to have taken so long! Thank you for your answers. I especially love the Starry Night sticker you gave me. It is one of my favourite paintings of all time!
Response: Thank goodness for that. I was prepared to do a resend but glad i dont. Wouldnt it be nice to see where the mail travel too to finally get to their destination. Have a nice weekend.
Comment: Karen thanks for the chunk from NZ. We live in the southern part of USA and it's been in 90s some days. The humidity is awful and it's been unbelievably hot. Only about a month and a half more of this. Lol. Thank you !
Comment: Hi sweet Karen!! How cool of you to send me a note on a postcard with such an awesome back story and old picture on it along with your stunning Christian postcard!!! Where in the world did you find it? I had to make one myself. lol The Daily bread is ALWAYS appreciated, and will definitely keep this moving. Blessings! Dina
Response: Hi Dina, glad that you liked both postcards I sent you. You asked where I got them from. Would you believe a second hand shop, which I think in America you call them thrift shops. Even though they were in a 2nd hand shop all the scripture postcards and old vintage pc were in good condition in a set. I had never seen scripture p/c until then. God bless. Karen.
Comment: Thanks for the nice note! What was the movie you saw? Not many films are made here anymore, unfortunately. AZ got rid of the film incentive and they literally fly over us to film in NM. Sad--especially since I am an actor who loves to work in film!
Response: The movie was called everything must go with Will Ferrell in it. Thanks for the rating.
How amazing was that to know you were in that movie too just as I was sending you a postcard. Keep acting, dont give up. Blessings. Karen.
Comment: Thank you for the goodies and a lovely story of a “stow-a-way” kitty. My sister’s cat will do the same thing to any cat that parks in her driveway. Luckily, she’ll jump out a window if she feels the car move. Lol
Response: Thanks for sharing about your sisters cat, it made me smile. Happy swapping.
Comment: Karen, I am so so sorry my rating is so late! Thank you so very much for your book page! Which I AM buying cause I need to know what to do after you have ALL your books all over your floors! LOL Thank you again! Thanks for the buttons too!
Response: Thats okay. Was wondering if you had got my letter, so am pleased that you did. Thanks for hosting this swap. Happy swapping
Comment: Thank you for the laces and towel. The towel is so cute, I don't know if I want to use it. :-)
Response: Glad you liked them as I was a bit worried on what to send you. I really enjoyed shopping for the lace for you. Now I am interested in lace , especially all the bright coloured ones, so thank you for guiding me to a new hidden interest in lace.
Comment: You are so sweet. Thank you so much for the sweet extras. I assure you that they will be put to good use including the devotional. The postcard is beautiful. I hung it at my desk and I will get the other moving! We are blessed and I am blessed to meet another friend. Thank you very much!
Response: Thank you for your kind words. Have a lovely weekend.
Comment: Wow! What a great assortment of cool stuff! I may try making those Anzac cookies, if I can figure out some of the ingredients! Language barrier strikes again! Haha! It sounds like it was a lovely ceremony and tribute. Thanks so much. Wish I could send myself down there to visit your beautiful country! One of these days....
Response: So pleased you liked it all. If you want to make the Anzac cookies I may be able to help with the ingredients. just pm if you want. Happy swapping.
Comment: I received your envelope today. As it says on the back, I will wait to open it on my birthday. How funny that I got two swaps from you today. Thank you!
Response: Didnt think that your birthday card would get there so soon. Often mail takes awhile from here but its proving me wrong (in a good way). Thanks for rating me even when you havent opened it. Happy swapping.
Comment: Thank you for this great Auckland postcard, Karen! I haven't ever been to New Zealand, but someday I hope to visit! I'm familiar with Marie Kondo's name, and I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed one of her books so much! :-) Thank you for sharing! :-) <3
Response: Thank you for arranging this swap. Enjoyed doing it. Thanks for your email to everyone. Like you I was really surprised that my postcard got to you so fast . Didnt expect that. I try and send my swaps early because of the distance they have to travel. Happy swapping.
Comment: Yay for being born again. A fellow library goer, too. I think I’ll go there after writing this ;) Love your answer to why you would like to spend the day with your grandmother. We have a lot in common. Blessings.
Comment: Thank you so much Karen, for my 3rd envelope from New Zeeland! I love the card you chose and Will happily pass it in in the next round! Thanks for all the extra's you've include! You really are my "New Zealand friend" now , after 3 letters! Hope .you are well! 💕
Response: Lovely to hear from you again. yes i am well. You are more than welcome when I sent extra items to you. Hope your mail box is full. Bye for now, Karen.
Comment: Thank you, loved your list of 5 books, I understand the atlas I too love to open it and explore maps. Also loved the bookmark plus the list from Auckland libraries. So much to read so little time.

Response: Thanks Sue for emailing me back. Very much appreciated. Was worried that the zebras had gone missing somewhere between my place and yours. So I am glad they arrived safely. Until our next swap, enjoy your mail. Karen
Comment: KOALAS!!!! One of the things on my bucket list is to hold a baby koala. So, to answer the journal question; one of the things I would do would be donate time and money to the Australian Koala Foundation. I would also make as many dreams come true for the Twilight Wish Foundation; it is the 'make a wish' for seniors. One woman was able to get her high school diploma at age 105!
Response: Thank you. Good on you for wanting to donate your time and money to help others. Wonderful causes.
Comment: Dear Karen, your swap arrived today. Thanks you so much for what was- indeed!- my 2nd letter from New Zealand! Maybe next time it will be me who has to send you something. Anyway, it was great to be your partner again, I really enjoyed reading about your wishes and goals for next year and I wish you the best of luck with fulfilling them! â¤
Response: Thank you. Looking forward to swapping with you again in the near future.
Comment: Thanks for your letter and the post card. I have read a lot about N.Z. and would love to visit but I'm afraid I won't be traveling that far. Loved the Lord of the Rings scenery and the seaside in your post card.
Comment: Hi Karen! Thank you so much for your lovely replies & postcard! :) I enjoyed reading through them all â¤ï¸ Trifles are also one of my favorite holiday desserts!! I actually ended up making one for my family and I this past Christmas haha I'm glad you spent the holidays well with loved ones. Happy 2018, and happy swapping!! :)
Response: Thank you and keep making those trifles.
Comment: Thank you Karen for sharing a page from your book! I enjoyed reading in and it made me curious about the book itself ! Thanks a lot for the extra postcard, loved it! It was the first mail I got from NZ! And since your country is at the top of my "want to travel to" list it's extra special to me. Happy holidays! 🎄
Response: Im pleased that you liked the page and postcard. i hope that you get the opportunity to visit NZ. Happy holidays,

Response: Glad you liked the extras and yes it is nice to get happy cherry mail. Blessings to you .
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful Christmas card and your lovely note - it made our day! â¤ï¸ Preston is a (now inner, but perhaps an outer in your grandparents' day) northern suburb. Merry Christmas and keep cool up north!!!
Response: Thank you for the information about Preston, very much appreciated. happy holidays to you.

Response: Yes please come and visit New Zealand. we like tourists from around the world.
Comment: Thanks Karen for the christmas card as well as the post card and stickers. The islands are beautiful. I can't believe I found another Bay City Roller fan. Les is still kind of cute. Lol Would you like to be pen pals?
Response: Yes, why not. Looking forward in seeing a letter from you in my mail box really soon,
Comment: Karen, I received the beautiful Kingfisher PC - thank you so much for sending just the right card to me! I envy you getting to walk along a beach; I'm landlocked and haven't gotten to the beach for several years now. What kind of buttons do you collect? Thanks so much for a wonderful swap!
Response: You are more than welcome. Thought you might like the Kingfisher PC. I collect buttons mainly to do other craft work with but if I see an unusual or different button I buy it. Also the brighter the colour of the button the brighter.
Comment: Thank you so much for sharing your weekend with me. I wish I could go to the museum with you. I love this type of museum better than art museums. Thank you also for the postcard and the ribbon. My mother had breast cancer back when they didn't know as much about it as they do now. Today they may could have saved her life. That was 43 years ago.
Response: Thank you Diane for the heart. Thank you for sharing about your mother and breast cancer. glad the letter arrived. Happy writing, Karen.
