Comment: Hi! The PC arrived in perfect shape. I can't see anywhere that anything broke off or got scratched or anything. And, I LOVE it!! Did you use a sand texture paste or gel on it? It's so cool. I'm excited to add it to my collection! Thank you!!
Response: I used a Pebeo gel tecture medium in yellow sand and I mixed a little acrylic paint into it. I've used liquitex and golden mediums in the past but I found this Pebeo one on clearance at Michaels recently and had to snatch it up :)
Comment: Yay! Great collaged Kandinsky card!! I've had it on my list of techniques/ways to try to swap (since I'm hoping to do all or almost all of them :D), so I'll follow your inspiration and try it next! Thank you! 💌🎨❣
Comment: Thank you for the cute ATC!! :D And I'm loving the stationery you used to send the ATC. :D Those piggies are so darn cute!!
Response: I worked at an art supply store that had gifty things too for a few years and the buyer would always try and get me cute pig stuff in, there is a kitty cat one too, but I had trouble finding it. I stocked up on the little pig ones though before they were gone :)
Comment: Thanks for the nice envie of papers! I would suggest using packing tape over the deco tape next time as deco tape doesn't always stick the best. This was practically open when it arrived. Thanks again! =)
Comment: Thank you for your copper-poo card, Diedre! I used to work on archaeology digs where I learned that the word for fossilized feces is coprolites. Maybe you've created copperolites!. Sorry, I couldn't resist :))
Response: lol, glad you enjoyed it! I'll have to remember that term for future possible art mistakes :)
Comment: Thank you so much for the card. You sure put a lot of time to stick and cut and modpodge it :) I think it's called right?! Anyways thanks a lot! Sorry for not rating right away. It arrived between xmas and New Year. :3
Comment: This is amazing!!!! Thank you so much! My dogs are going to go crazy! They LOVE Nudges!!!! Thank you thank you thank you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to pick out things my crazy dogs can actually eat!!!
Comment: thanks so much for the beautiful card! I'm going to frame it for my Halloween mantle display :) love those cute stickers too - perfect to share with my kids because they aren't too gory. Happy Halloween!!
Comment: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you----did I say thank you? Loved all the items and the wrappings!!!! One daughter wants to know if you made the paper---the other wants to know where you got the tape? They were as excited about my package as I was!!!!! I have already used some of the bird stickers!!!!!! It was a wonderful surprise-----thank you!!!!!!
Response: I work at a local art supply store called Artmart, the papers were handmade though not by me, and were some we have extra sample pieces of, which employees use often as wrappings. The tape came from a variety of places, some was washi tape I've collected here and there the other was a scotch brand patterned tape I got as a sample from our store owner. We unfortunately don't carry it though. Glad you all enjoyed!
Comment: Love your work! I was a fan of ceramics too when I was a teenager and went to ceramics classes. But it was unreal for me to make something not in the studio as I had no equipment, so had to forget about ceramics. And now after your e-mail all of this memories are coming back to me...
Comment: Thank you for the stickers. They will all be used in my scrapbooking and they will be so cute. My grandaughter wnts the dogs in her book. and seseme ones too so I will get a few. If you want to do some private swaps let me knw that would be fun. Have a real nice day.
Comment: Thanks, Deidre, Love your chimpanzee card!
We like all of them here at the Loon Island Zoo regardless of their taxonomy. Chimps, monkeys, apes, orangutans, gorillas... we even like some humans!
Comment: Just got your letter. I had a family emergency and apologize for the delay in rating. The envelope got ripped in the mail so I am hoping you only sent a letter and no extras. Hearts for doing this swap!
Response: IGlad you received the letter, I did have a tiny practice origami butterfly in there but it looks like he must have escaped. Hope you enjoyed this swap!
Comment: Postmark was 5/8, a week after the swap deadline.
Response: Mailed them all at the same time and everyone else gots them and enjoyed them in a timely manner, not sure why the postmark is late on this on I dropped them in the box the day of the swap deadline.
Comment: The first package she sent to me got lost in transit, but as soon as I told her she had another package whipped up and in the mail to me! I really enjoyed the package that I got, and I am sure the first one was just as good. Thanks for the fast reply, quick re-send, and ofcourse the wonderful swap!
Comment: Thank you so much for the fabulous items. The cats knew right away there was something for them in the envie. I put it on the table and they started tearing at it! Love the oil and burner, so cute and the kids will make the ornament this weekend. Great swap. Wishing you a fabulous holiday. Hugs, Mona
Response: It was a very cute kitty toy, I almost wanted to buy one for my dogs, but one of them would have eaten it whole probably :) Merry Christmas
Comment: Thank you so so much for the three adorable little pigs! I actually have a few other glass pig beads in my china cabinet right now, so they're going to go right into my display (along with their slightly larger brother!). I love the packaging and the extra little sheets of pig paper, too ... you really outdid yourself! Thanks again - I love it all. <3
Response: I have tons of pig stuff! So thought I'd share with others who would also enjoy!
Comment: Love my zentangle...girl, you worked hard on those tiny bits! I especially loved the triangles with the circles, great detail on the 1/2 & 1/2 circles. (do you remember what i'm talking about???) LOL! Thanks a bunch!
Response: That is one of my favorite patterns I have been doing it for a while now and try to include it where I can. Glad you enjoyed it!
Comment: Thanks for the great zentangled bookmark! you did a great job to say it's your first.. I loved the part that alternated black with white dots and white with black dots :-) The clear tape makes it extra durable too!! <3
Response: I have been wanting to try zentangles for a while, since I do lots of patterns in my art work. Glad you enjoyed it!
Comment: Very cute postcard! I love the pointillist fortune cookies! I was stumped on the book, too. I thought "Well, I must never have read this book, because none of this is sounding familiar." So I looked up this quote on Google: "No. We have renounced you and all that you stand for. This planet is ours." And it turns out I have read this book: Many Waters, by Madeleine L'Engle. It's just been a few years. Thank-you for the great swap!
Response: No problem! I am currently rereading the Wrinkle series and Many Waters has always been my favorite L'Engel book.
Comment: OMG, Deidre, I don't know WHERE you found all those great goodies, but thank you SO MUCH for the adorable "bubble prizes"....the sticker is very cool..my kids are trying to sneak that one away from me, and all the little goodies are so sweet, I especially love the little hamster!
thanks again, you are awesome!!
Response: So glad you like them. I found the Hamster and the Pie or cake?? at a comic book shop where they have all kinds of those little eraser things in in bubble machines! When my guy friend wants to go in and look at comic book stuff it gives me something to do!
Comment: Thank you Deidre!
Mörkö loves the snacks and the toy! He was already excited when I picked up the package and the toy inside made a little squeaky noise. He followed me around the house until I opened the package and gave it to him!
Response: yay so glad it was received! I did another dog swap and the package squeaked when the postal worker took it and she was startled.
Comment: I love Sim City myself & have the latest version. However, after my computer crashed, I got Windows 7 installed ... and now I can't play Sim City! Waah! (Loved reading about your favorites, by the way!) :)
Response: I have heard of that happening. We had another game called Black and White and when my brother got a new system and could not play it :(
Comment: I love the fruit tart earrings, those look good enought to eat! That ring with strawberries is just crazy! I'd be afraid of the piece breaking off.
Thanks for sharing!!
Response: Don't they, thats the problem with looking at the food jewelr it all looks so tasty! And yea that is my biggest reservation about the floating rings, I know it would break in like 5 minutes of having it on!
Comment: oh-thank you so much for this great pc-i have been to the STL art museum MANY times, and love that statue, which i have taken lots of photos of! So sweet of you to send me a reminder of home! Happy swapping!
Response: No problem! I was excited to see someone from Saint Louis as one of my partners for this swap.
Comment: Thx for the visit! I found candyblog.net the other day and two days later I was in. I've always enjoyed candy and writing about what I love seemed to feel just right :) So I started right away.
Comment: I've been to Saint Louis a few times (my parents go every fall). My father does the wind forecasting for the The Great Forest Park Balloon race, but I've never been to this sculpture park.
Response: It is a great place. They have a museum that is the old house on the grounds that rotates shows, and every Mothers Day Weekend they have a huge art fair! I love the balloon race, and that I can always see the balloons from wherever I am. :)
Comment: Man.... how great would it be to get a real cupcake with a stamp on it in the mail. Yummiest mail ever!!! But, since you can't send that.. thank you for the super cute hand made cupcake themed postcard! :D
Response: Someday maybe the real cupcake in the mail dream will come true!
Comment: Thank you for your list and I will have to check out some of the bands you listed and this is between you and me, I secretly like Hanson. Was a fan way back, though I haven't heard any of their new stuff, gotta get on that.(My husband would totally make fun of me for that.) It's also weird when you realize you're all grown up, isn't it?
Response: It is a fun time at Hanson concerts lately! All the initial girls that liked them are like over 21 now so it's all a bunch of girls getting a little tipsy and jumping around to pop songs! It's always a fun casual group of people.
Comment: Awsome job with a great quote, you earn a gold star, well a swap-bot heart at least! I love KOTH yay for 9PM [as]! I have seasons 1-11 on my netflix que for streaming and I am into 6 on it already. (:
Response: Awesome! I always watched the show, but got really into it during the reruns on adult swim, sometimes when I am up late it's the only thing on!
