Comment: The part about WRITE ALL THE THINGS cracked me up. Can so relate! Was the gym pic of Mick, Johnny or Troy? Take a look at Kensington Publishing in NYC. Thanks for your detailed letter!
Response: Hope you're doing all right after this past week! HUGS! Thanks for the kind feedback and letting me know I'm not alone, drowning in projects (since I sent that swap letter, I've added a 7-chapter short story to my list as well LOL). It's a photo of Troy in his natural habitat. And thanks for the suggestion!
Comment: Thank you for the awesome package of GoTG stuff!! I got Groot in the blind bag!
Response: Whew! I felt through so many bags, and I was 99% confident it was Groot, but I am very glad to hear I was right! He was the only Groot left in the box, I think! I'm glad you like your package :-)
Comment: Geronimo! How fun you had me for both swaps! I love everything - too cool the 11th Doctor travel mug. Can't wait to play the trivia game. I love the ATCs of my favorite Doctors, and the bowtie cookie cutter is too cool! I love the photos! I was in England with my parents in 1964 - just think, 6 months almost to the day after the very first episode met the airwaves! I would have loved to see everything -
although at that time most of the Doctor Who stuff hadn't happened yet - but the Beatrix Potter scenes would have been nice, but I was there with my parents, so we saw stuff like Stratford-on-Avon and Windsor Castle. I had almost forgotten about Missy! Thanks for everything - now I'm going to go have fun!
Comment: How lovely! Everything arrived yesterday. I love everything! Someday, I'll have photos of everywhere you went in England - between the Harry Potter stuff from that swap, and these two! My mom would love the Lake District, and Beatrix's lovely cottage! I love the sheep visiting! And the game you made is great! How nice that they gave you the box! Thanks for everything!
Comment: This was such a delightful package, thank you! I was so happy when I opened it, because PUSHING DAISIES! :D And I laughed out loud because you MADE A POP-UP BOOK! :D :D This was a really great package, I loved everything, thank you! (Also, I believe I have some baking to do now, with 50 pie recipes ...)
Comment: Thank you so very much Kate for the amazing bag/box full of Winnie the Pooh goodies!!! I will have to check out those books you recommend and thank you so much for the one you sent - I will be reading it as soon as we move into our new home - so looking forward to that. thank you!!!! darla
Comment: I loved reading about your progress and am searching your list for inspiration to finish my list! I love that you are aiming to 'walk to Mordor' - I happen to live in Middle Earth about 4 hours drive from Hobbiton.
Comment: Yay, it finally arrived! Very late, although I can see from the date on it that it wasn't your fault ... probably the customs who were curious as to what was inside! And so was I ... And I was rewarded with a treasure of Disney items! :D Thank you SO much for this, it was so much fun to open it and go through everything. I loved the address lables (have never even considered to make those and use for swaps - great idea!) and the tote bag had BUCKY on it so I grinned when I saw it. And the rest was just awesome, as well. Thank you again for this lovely package!
Comment: Thank you so much for the swap, I loved everything that you sent :) Thank you for the note explaining everything also! I'm hoping to see Hamilton in the summer, God willing I can get a ticket :) xxx
Comment: Thank you so much for the absolutely amazing swap! I love the art prints and all of the fun goodies that you made and the fic that you wrote. Also, I'm completely thrilled to have a little Watson to go with my Sherlock. I've reunited the two on my display shelf just in time for Valentines day :)
Response: YAY! I'm so glad that you like everything and that John will be able to keep Sherlock company now :-)
Comment: Hi, Kate, Thank you, thank you, thank you for the awesome package and all the goodies. You are going out with a bang! I love the giant pen and the bird pen. I collect pins you know. And the key. Anyway, I haven't opened the other packages yet. I think I will save them for Advent.
Comment: Oh my gosh! I was so far into the LotR Companion book, I almost forgot to rate you! I love it! I love it all! And there's more? Everything is way cool! And the Moria leaf it lovely! Thanks so much! Now back to the book...
Comment: What an extra special package! It really blew me away! You found and sent things that incorporated several things I enjoy! My favorites were the owl/superhero keychain (which i take everywhere), the owl/superhero papers & the adorable little Thor! THANKS!
Response: Whoohoo! I loved the extra challenge of finding/making some owl-related Avengers items. I'm so pleased you like them! And I'm glad you liked everything, including little Thor :-)
Comment: Congrats and good luck on your goals! You've accomplished a lot more than I have this year. I might have to borrow your idea of keeping a spreadsheet of everything you have written in a year. I have trouble keeping them all in order. Thanks for swapping!
Comment: 22 stories is nothing to sneeze at, Ms. Kate! And all of the other writing, you've been on a roll! Stop being so hard on yourself. And thank you for the page of quotes I needed to read today. A couple of them hit home in ways that are profound.
Comment: Sooooo.... I was happily sitting on my sofa when the mail arrived. Upon seeing this large box I wondered who ordered something. Upon seeing it was for me, I wondered what I ordered.
When I opened it I realized that I was the lucky recipient of a very lively swap. This certainly went about and beyond the requirements of the swap.
Now only was there an assortment of lovely items related to the theme that I wI'll be enjoying, there was a number of personal touches such as the music, the campaign, and the address labels.
Thank you so much for making my first swap in this group a super positive one. If I could give multiple hearts or something about a heart I would.
Response: Yay! I'm so very thrilled you like everything! I would have mailed it sooner, but was waiting on the okay from my coworker to include her campaign (didn't want to put in her creation without her approval). Have fun gaming!
Comment: I always love your reports, you're so focused and consistent. By the way, I'm kind of starting my next list and I hope you don't mind I'm adding some of yours to my running record of ideas to sort through when I'm ready! Thanks for your patience with the late rate.
Response: Steal away! I've taken/modified some ideas for my current list and my next list from people in the group, too.
Comment: Thanks for you comment. Those were some interesting facts. I read You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) - I actually listened to it on audio - and didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I love Felicia Day, but the book bored me a little bit. I hope you have better luck with it than I did.
Comment: Thank you so much! I absolutely love all of the Sherlock goodies! The 'John' pencil sharpener is adorable, the jumping Cumberbatchs are hilarious, and I can't wait to listen to your friends CD :)
Comment: Oh my Goodness, your kitties are absolutely adorable! It's sad to hear that Cassie isn't feeling well, though. I hope she gets better very soon! I love where they got their names from as well. Also, love the photos, especially the one titled "Cat Tree"
Comment: What a great package! I love the little journal -- I have a soft spot for journals with elastic closers. Did you carve the silhouette stamp? I love it. And all the little tags will certainly be used! In fact, I haven't sent this swap to my partner yet...so I think I'm going to have to use one of those tags, haha. Thanks bunches!!
Comment: Oh My Gosh! Your swap was perfection I loved it so much thankyou! Thankyou so much for getting me not one but the TWO Itty Bitties! And the bookmark was pretty creative, I've never thought of using paint swatches in that way! :) Thankyou for such a thoughtful swap, I couldn't describe how much I loved it! :)
Response: As soon as you posted that thing about the Itty Bitties, I immediately went to my local Hallmark store and got them--that was the last Hulk they had, so I'm glad I didn't wait! The bookmark idea came from Pinterest (theirs was much different of course, but I thought it was perfect to try the purple one for Fraction's Hawkeye). I'm so glad you like the package. I did have a lot of fun gathering/making things to put into it. In the end, it was hard to know when to just stop and send it out! My heart is warmed to know that you loved it so much!
Comment: Thanks for the long letter. I don't understand some of your writing "fics" but it's great you've got you self-published book, great you finished NANO many years in a row and great to have so much creativity and so many ideas. Don't burn yourself out and do put the real effort into things you care most about. Have a great coming year.
Comment: Again, what fun that you were my swap partner for both of these! And this is great - I perused it all before work this morning - now I can't wait to get home! I don't know most of the movies, but I look forward to watching them. But I have always loved "A Child's Christmas in Wales." And "Mr. Saint Nick" has been on my list to get for years! That movie is hilarious fun! Thanks for the tissues - I do tend to downright weep more at the movies this time of year than any other! Thanks for it all!
Comment: ♥ Eeyore and you do something like the gnomes and I do, only I never thought to make a postcard from the pics. I also do not let them pose with such ferocious lions. Your Eeyore must be very brave. Thank you for the cute card and fantastic idea.
Comment: Thanks for introducing me to the idea of this genre -- I didn't know how diverse it could be :)
It is fun to feel a little more up-to-date on fantasy -- I feel a bit out of the loop! I expect that we read in different directions of fantasy, but it is nice to know that fantasy is alive and well, and that I can stretch myself in different directions. Especially as the Dragon Riders series was one of my favorite discoveries as a kid!
Comment: I got your swap today! Super fast! I loved all of it thankyou! The lil moose ornament was hilarious and I loved the lil yarn doll, he's going in my car along with the lil army guy! And the book extra you included was awesome thankyou :) loved your swap!
Comment: Your note cracked me up. SO excited to look at all of the goodies. Now I'll have to earn the right to open! Thanks for calendar too. I forgot to photocopy the one I use every year. Like this one so much better with the incremental areas.
Comment: Hi Kate!
WOW! You certainly nailed the YELLOW theme with this swap! Not only that, but you geared it to my sewing hobby! Thank you for ALL the goodies including the fat quarter and ribbon trim. I liked how you added little stickers inside the cute coin purse! Thank you, too, for the decorative paper and the washi! What a great swap! You deserve a mountain of hearts! ♥♥♥ Happy Swapping! Valerie
Comment: I like the idea of YA literature for this swap! Thanks so much for sharing this book and your reaction to it; I really appreciated the opportunity to think about this genre. It sounds like a fun book for my daughter to read (hint to daughter :)
Comment: Thank you for the nice postcard. Sorry for the late rating. The pc got stuck with another one... I really happy for the positive change in marriage equality. I hope it would happen in my country too one day (may be the same day, when people of different religions will be allowed to merry.)
Comment: Thanks for you intelligent and heartfelt review of Alan Cumming's book! You make some interesting points about memoirs, too...that they are not as "historical" as biographies...I think that's why I like them so much.
Comment: Congratulations on finishing your 101 days. You may not have completed all your goals, but just sticking in there and being persistent is such a huge accomplishment in itself. I loved Arlington too when I visited, so glad you did that one. I look forward to hearing about your grace month and seeing your new list.
Comment: I'm awestruck! First, thanks so much for Dragonfly in Amber - I'd started to read that one, but now I have my own copy! But the BTTF stuff is fantastic! I love the clock-tower flyer and the "you're fired" fax! The postcards are great - well, everything's great! Hope my partner likes what I sent as much as I like this! And I had no idea Swap-Bot had their own postcard! Thanks for everything!
Comment: Great to read about your progress! I don't think to keep going for another month is cheating at all. These lists are there to inspire you to get these goals done and that's exactly what is happening. Btw, do some research before you do that mammogram to find out whether you really think it's a good idea.
Comment: Good luck in the home stretch! And I don't think adding a couple weeks is cheating at all - this is about you and growing and having experiences, not about some number of days (I know it's technically about a number of days but you know what I mean.) I know you'll end with a bang but don't put too much pressure on yourself - this is supposed to be fun. I can't wait to see your list in October. In the meantime, I donated a little to the HIV walk, I wish it could have been more. It's a cause I really believe in and am glad you are supporting. I wouldn't have done it if I didn't believe in it,but I also hope it helps you get one step closer to that goal. Looking forward to your report next month!
Comment: WOW! I'm almost speechless. Such an amazing assortment of goodies. I'm looking forward to reading through the HP magical guide on break and looking through the HP Cards (the box is adorable!). My favorite photo book of Harry Potter stage scenes. I've always wanted to go on the tours and Universal but have never been able too and these pictures are perfect to look through while armchair traveling through them all. Again, thank you soooo much!
Comment: Thanks for branching out into the poetry world :) It is a fun place to be sometimes -- slowed-down reading, a different cadence and pace, so diverse and yet such small bites! I think of it as the tapas smorgasbord appetizer dinner of literature! Will have to look up Billy Collins ....
Comment: OMG thank you so much you really spoiled me and I loved everything!! I can't even pick a favourite thanks darling!!!
Response: Yay! I had SUCH a hard time choosing which pop figure to buy at the store--they're all so cute! I finally just grabbed and hoped you liked it. And then I kept running into other awesome things I couldn't resist, like the mini lunchbox/tin and then the Cap eraser (so cute!). I'm glad you liked everything!!
Comment: Oh my goodness! You spilled Scotland all over me - and I love it! Great stuff! Having at least two lines in my family from Scotland and having a mom and a sister who are Scotophiles (is that the word?) - and who also love Outlander, we're all going to love reading that Highlander history book (me first, of course!). And I can't wait to listen to the cds. Everything you made is wonderful, too - love all the standing stones! Off to play now - thanks!
Response: And here I was worried that it was too much Scotland and not enough Outlander specifically. I really hope you like the Steve McDonald CD (let me know) as he really is my favorite; I've bought all his albums. And I'm so glad you (& your family) will enjoy the bag! I share my love of Outlander with my mother as well, though she's all caught up on the books and I'm a few behind.
Comment: This was possibly one of my favorite swaps ever! Thank you so much!!! I wish I could give several hearts. I was blown away that you got me the first Leia comic book, thank you so much! And I love the address labels.
Comment: Thank you! I love the Dany key ring figure and the dragon eggs are so cute! You included a lot of great things, esp since you aren't in the fandom. The buttons and necklace are great, and I'll get a lot of use out of the Robb bookmark! :) Thank you!
Comment: Thank you, Kate, for the pretty wrapped gift you sent me for this swap. I am going to see how close to Christmas I make it this year without opening my stocking stuffers. Of course last year was my first year on Swap-bot, so it was also my first Christmas on here. You can never have too many stocking stuffers, lol. I opened them all on one "bad" evening around the first of December last year. Let's see if I can do better this year. Of course, 8 months is a very long time to wait, lol. Thanks again, pobuffy
Comment: I am so glad that you set up this swap -- humor is a really important genre! The goose episode sounds side-splitting. I once read a hilarious memoir about a man and his menagerie, which included geese and a dwarf Holland Rex rabbit that thought that he was in charge of all of them. I was laughing for days. Wish that I could remember the title and author! Thanks for a fun swap and review!
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely disney box! You sent some wonderful things that will brighten my office at the library. The ATC's are super cute! I also love that you included a Clone Trooper Pez dispenser! Hilarious! Also the book list was a brilliant idea! I might have to add this to my teen department big book of reading lists. Thanks again for hosting and sending some really great things!
Response: Though the Clone Trooper Pez was a little bit of a stretch, it was too cute to not send (even if you already had one, because you can't have too many of those). Am so glad you liked all the bag goodies. I am thrilled you liked my book recs; I had worried that was a little too off theme :-)
Comment: Thanks so much for sharing your story! I really liked the first one best ;-) Do you do research for yours? I realize most of my time is spent actually reading for my stories. But now, I'm just going to take some creative license, and not stress over whether something is exactly right. I'll be posting mine tomorrow. Thanks so much for your patience!
Comment: Thank you for sharing your answers with me for this swap. I loved reading about your love hate relationship with Dean Koontz. It definitely does sound like you've broke up hehe. Sometimes it needs to be done.
Comment: Fantastic answers! I know, it was hard for me too to narrow down my answers. I'd probably say something different if I had to sit down and answer them again tomorrow! Thanks for being patient with me and getting around to answer mine! :)
Comment: Loved your answers, I'll have to start reading Supernatural slash fiction. Thanks for hosting!
Response: Do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! heehee One of the things I love about SPN is that they acknowledge slash--one of their episodes is even called "Slash Fiction." heehee Glad you got a kick out of my answers! :-)
Comment: I love this swap! :D Everything in it was so fun to open up and I love the creativity in the menu folder and the movie night--so GG and perfect for me too! The address labels are *perfect* and will certainly be used!! There was even more than I was expecting! :D Thanks Kate, I love everything! xx
Response: Oh, I'm so glad you liked it! I had three friends help me collect take out menus for the organizer, only to find that most of them were too large for the organizer! Oops! I bought a black one I was going to decorate, but then I saw this one all glittery and it just screamed Lorelai. I left the dividers unlabeled in case you wanted to organize it differently based on the take out places near you. But I definitely had fun making Luke's menu and gathering things with a GG feel to them :-) I'm glad you liked it and found it fun & useful too!
Comment: I am in tears with how freaking amazing you are!!!!!!!!! BOWSER I could die he's so cute!!!! Thank you so much for the extra special bag/box!!! I love it all so much!! I'd give you like 10,000 hearts if I could!!! It's too funny you keep getting me as your partner! I'm getting spoiled by you!
Response: I'm so happy you liked it (especially Bowser--isn't he adorable?) ! I was worried you might be getting bored receiving from me over and over. I had fun putting it together for you :-)
Comment: LOVE the Map ATC. The weaving technique came out really good. I defiantly want to try that one day.
Response: Thanks! Glad you liked the technique; it was a fun experiment. I might try it again some time with some variation/different kinds of images--maybe even keeping the strips in order so more of a picture emerges? Thanks for letting me know you thought it worked!
Comment: i'm so glad that someone else likes graphic novels as much as i do! Persepolis has been on my TBR list for awhile so i may have to bump it up! i wish i were a bigger Robin fan, but i may look it up anyway. thanks!
Comment: Thank you for another amazing package! You are so clever when you come up with ideas on what to send for these swaps. I thought the leaf soap and strawberry plant were really clever. The necklace is crazy!!! I can't believe the amount of time and effort that went into that! Amazing! I'm excited about the comic, too, because I haven't read one yet. Everything was just awesome. I look forward to being your partner in another Fandom swap in the future!
Response: You made it challenging for me, as I am pretty sure I sent to you for a previous Firefly swap! But it was fun coming up with new things to make and find. So glad you didn't already have that comic (I was on the fence about sending it, because I thought maybe you'd already read it; looks like I made the right call in sending). I'll let my friend know that his necklace was a hit (I think I remembered to include his etsy store card?). I bought his Rose/Bad Wolf Doctor Who necklace in the same style for myself last year and love it (though I never remember which beads go to which episodes without the chart, heehee). So glad you liked the package!
Comment: Twice in a row! Lol :) another great bag! Thanks so much! Love the little coffin!! And TOO funny I sent the same book out and was sad to send it bc I enjoyed it so much but then boom I get it from you!! :-) loved the little torture read too! Loved it all! Thanks again for another great bag!!
Comment: Very creative use of bricks! I love the clear ones...need more! I went to McKay's Books today to find out they are selling used Lego bricks in packages for $1.95 and $5.95. I didn't get any of those, but they had the black/gray moon base for $2.95, which I did buy.
Thanks for another fun swap!
Comment: Thank you! It was lovely to see your Q4 and Q1-3 as well. =) It was awesome of you to also include your world map, and all the books from Q4. I will be checking some of them out! And, love the serenity ship. I should have done something like that for the space book I read in Q4! Next map I sure will. = )
Comment: What do you know! I have 11/22/63 and I just re-read Good Omens! (Long live Gaiman and Pratchett!) Did you know that there is a BBC radio program of it now? It really is great! Thank you for your PC and for hosting this swap!
Comment: Omg! OMG! Oh my gosh! I love all of it sooooo much! And if you were looking for cat woman harley and joker mystery bags then you're awesome at guessing bc that's what was in them!!!! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ Thank you so much!!!!! I love it all! The box of doctors is quite awesome!! And the key chain just oh man all of it! â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ Been having a rough couple weeks and that made me so happy! Thank you! My son even enjoyed it :)
Response: Catwoman was easy to identify because of the whip (just had to make sure it wasn't Wonder Woman's lasso). Harley's hat made her easy to identify (I got one for myself as well). I wasn't 100% sure that was the Joker though because I couldn't feel a card in his hand. But I thought that I was feeling the two little points of his hair in the front, and I'm glad I guessed right and that it wasn't Hawk Girl :-) Couldn't have Harley without her Mr. J! I've been having a kind of rough time this past week, too, so your comment makes me super happy! I'm glad you liked it and that it came at a time when it could give you some smiles. Oh, and that was my first time making an ATC for 12. I haven't seen many of his episodes yet, so I had a time trying to figure out a good quote to put on it :-)
Comment: Thanks for your swap. Sorry the one book had you crying so much. I can't do books that make me cry. Nope, not for me. :) I was one of the people that hated the end of Allegiant. It just surprised me and I wasn't expecting it (I don't look into things about the book beforehand). I think I might have not hated it so much if I had known in advance.
Response: All I knew going in was that people hated the ending. So I didn't have any other expectations or info; I didn't know what about it people hated so much. Sorry you didn't like it! I don't like when books disappoint us. Also, the crying is my own fault; I know stories about the Titanic or the Holocaust will make me cry, but I read them anyway. I'm always glad I did, but it's an emotional journey to get to the end.
Comment: Thanks for your colourful letter! I LOVED Dr. Seuss too as a kid :) Other than "the cat in the hat" the only other books i have read on your list is the harry potter series- so will definitely look up the others. "Ishmael" particularly sounds great!
Comment: Earread - I love it! Thanks so much for your comments about the titles. Really makes them come alive.
Response: Earread is just so much easier to say than "listened to books on audio" don't you think? Glad you enjoyed my brief comments. It's fun to revisit my whole month of reading in these logs :-) Thanks for reading!
Comment: Love it! Especially the tree air freshener! Such a good idea. I'm going to write you back - but... where can I read your fanfiction? Also, I'm hosting a SPN penpal swap. Also, also - I had a dream about the yellow-eyed-demon last night. It was scary! :)
Comment: Woo hoo! I loved the kit! All I need is my laptop and an idea now. Everything was great but I have a feeling the timer and the red pens may be my most needed weapons this time. lol!
update:12/2 Opened by end of Nano gift! I'm thrilled!
Comment: Thank you for your swap. I'm sorry you didn't like Silkworm better but still read it because you like Strike. I read the first one but just couldn't garner up any interest in the 2nd one so I gave up on it. Not a series I'll revisit.
Comment: Thanks for the Wicked Witch ATC! The only thing I would suggest is some better glue, because her words were just floating around in the envelope. I can piece them back on, though.
Response: Oh no! I'm so sorry! I've never had that happen before. It was a brand new gluestick; I guess I'll be tossing that sucker out! I'm so sorry about that, but I'm glad you liked it anyway. Ugh. I'm so embarrassed. Thank you so much for letting me know!
Comment: Your reading was more diverse than mine - I had nothing west of Nebraska this quarter! Thanks for sharing your map.
PS - It was fun to see that you're using the address labels I sent you in a long-ago swap. :)
Response: I LOVE THOSE ADDRESS LABELS! They're some of my favorite address labels ever and I'm bummed I'm almost out of them. I made some of my own that look similar... but just not the same. Thank you again for them! :-)
Comment: You read books set in many more world locations than I did. Thanks for sharing your map!
Response: Thanks! Sorry for envelope snafoo--nice to have you as a partner for both swaps, though! Glad you enjoyed looking at my maps. Other swap partners I've had are MUCH more diverse in their book settings, so I'm trying to branch out a little more :-)
Comment: Thank you for sharing your tag answers with me. I loved the beautiful book cover you showed. I've definitely added more to my TBR list just by reading your answers hehe.
Response: Oh no! Sorry to add to your TBR! heehee But I'm glad you enjoyed reading through my answers. Wasn't that book cover so gorgeous? I'm never going to read that book, so I'll have to send it to a friend who'll enjoy the art as well :-)
Comment: I loved, loved, LOVED your package! Thank you so much! I would love to send you a letter as a response, if that is alright - maybe with the potential to be a penpal. :-)
Response: I'm so glad you liked it :-) Thanks for the rating. I would love to hear back from you; of course that's all right. I'm historically pretty bad at keeping penpals, but I would definitely love to hear from you about yourself and your path!
Comment: You and I are such opposites. :) Thanks for the swap!
Response: Oh, I think we have a few similarities! I look forward to reading your survey responses; thanks for reading mine. Sorry again for the brainfart where I sent it electronically at first. I'm still kicking myself for that. LOL
Comment: Thank you for your log! Enjoying most of your books is what matters the most! Glad you had a good month of reading. I look forward to what you thought of Silkworm. I started it but couldn't keep with it. I read all the first one but barely, the 2nd just bored me to tears. Won't revisit the series.
Comment: I don't mind being a repeat partner with you, your swaps are always great! Your Book Art board is really awesome. I'm jealous that you have a home library! I'd love to see a picture of it!
Response: I'll definitely be posting lots of photos on my blog when it's all done. Right now there are more books on the floor and in boxes in the center of the room than on the bookcases! Thanks for taking a look at my boards. I'm glad you found some pins you like! :-)
Comment: Kate, this was an awesome swap! Do it again, do it again! Thanks so much for your detailed very detailed analysis of Nik. it hadn't crossed my mind to even check wiki for additional information so I'll go do that for mine. this swap was perfect for what I need it with the character I'm writing thanks so much.
Comment: Thank you so much! Everything was amazing. :D I especially love the light up TARDIS :)
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I splurged on that TARDIS. I probably stood staring at it at the store for 20 minutes before I finally bought it; now I'm glad I did. You said you didn't have too much in the way of merch and no DW fan should be without a TARDIS and a sonic screwdriver!
Comment: I loved browsing through your boards! You had so many great ones and we seem to have some of the same interests! I am now following a few of them!
Response: Thanks for the kind words and the heart. I'm glad you had some fun looking through my boards. It's fun in swaps like this to look for common interests and inspiration for new boards. Enjoy & happy pinning! :-)
Comment: This was such an awesome package!!! I LOVE the dragon eggs, my son who is obsessed with dragons has been trying to steal them! Thank you for such an awesome fandom bag
Response: Oh, I'm so happy! Like I said, I joined this swap for my dad, so I was worried I'd get something wrong, as it isn't one of my fandoms. I'm so glad both packages arrives safely and that you like it. I'm thrilled and relieved! (Watch out for that dragon egg thief! LOL)
Comment: Thank you for the great lists! You made me laugh out loud with "Using a pedometer to keep track, walk to Mordor (1779 miles)". That's a great idea :-) BTW, my sister loves Castiel. Cheers, Elly
Response: I stole the idea to walk to Mordor from one of the swappers in my 101 Things in 1001 Days swap-bot group who is doing it as one of her goals; it sounds like fun, doesn't it? Also, your sister has good taste in characters! heehee Thanks for reading through the lists! I realized after I mailed it that I left one on my desk--oops! But I'd included more than 20 so I wasn't too worried. Anyway, thanks for reading them. (PS- I've never read a Nora Roberts book, but I included that one because my friends & I have an inside joke about her name popping up all over).
Comment: Thank you for your really prompt and complete response to this swap. You've got all the necessities (except the coffee cup) I hope you managed to produce a lot of work although I don't know about writing and watching TV at the same time.
Response: Usually I only do TV & writing at the same time if I'm writing fanfiction based on that show. Then it's excellent inspiration. Sometimes I put on movies I've seen a hundred times just for background noise. As for coffee, my tummy doesn't like it, so I can't drink it. I must make my way as a writers without it! :-) I'm glad you enjoyed my photos of my space. Thanks for the quick rating!
Comment: Thank you for sharing your answers, and the new found part of your sexuality. Also, I just want to say, I'm not much of a fan of kissing either (for me, it's all about germs. Can't seem to shake the thought).
Comment: Hey Kate,
I loved looking over your pins, I even stole a few and added them to my board, especially the one about spending a month in John Smith's cottage (I didn't even know you can do that!) I started following you on Pinterest, it looks like we have a few things in common. Nice getting to know you!
Response: I've kind of been obsessed with visiting that cottage since I learned about it a few years ago. Every Doctor Who episode, game, book, etc.? Yes please! heehee Thanks for following me. I'll have to check out your boards now! :-)
Comment: Thank you for the Wizard of Oz-themed goodies. I can't wait to read the Dorothy Must Die, and I especially love address labels you made!!! I'm going to walk around casting nice spells on everyone with my Glow in the Dark Glinda magic wand. Love it!!!
Comment: Thank you so muhc for a beautiful mixture of Potter-goodies! The wand is amazing and I particularly like the address labels. Also, your ideas for a Hogwarts acception letter were great! I felt a huge move of nostalgia when I looked through the things. Thank you!
Comment: I am in Harry Potter heaven!! Thank you so much for all the wonderful goodies. The chalk board made it intact! My favourites are the acceptance letter, the owl bag is fabulous, and I love the dragon!
Response: It was fun scouting around for a Ravenclaw-ish dragon; I was lucky to find him! Glad everything made it in one piece (and un-erased). And I'm glad you liked it all! :-)
Comment: Thanks for your reading log! I also have a lot of conflicted feels about Ender's Game (though I haven't read it), in part because of the author's stances and distressing blog posts. I may have to read it at some point just so that I can silence the back-and-forth arguments in my head, but for now I will console myself with the hundreds of other books that I definitely want to read.
Response: The author's horrible views definitely turned me off. People kept telling me those didn't factor into the story and that I should read it. I'm glad I did just to be able to say I gave it a shot. But I don't plan on reading any more of his books. I wish I'd turned the audiobook off as soon as the story ended and not listened to the author's endnotes, though; talk about egotistical! Still, I really am glad I finally read it, for the exact reason you state--ending my own internal conflict about reading it.
Comment: Thanks for all the details in your write-up - so very informative as usual. I haven't read Ender's Game in book format, but I did rad a short story version of it in an old sci-fi magazine discard i picked up at the library. (I didn't realize - or maybe just didn't remember - he was so young.)
Comment: I've heard of the Penderwicks books, but not the others - haven't read any of them. Thanks for the great list! And I love the postcard - how very cool, especially to a Narnian!
Response: You're welcome. Happy reading! I'm glad you enjoyed the postcard. I was thrilled when I drove by those streets in my parents' neighborhood. Great of them to finally put up signs so we Narnians can better find our way there :-)
Comment: Markeroni sounds very interesting. I guess there are more historical markers around than I realize. It might be fun to to look into! I've never built anything with Legos, but some of the creations I've seen are amazing!
Response: It's definitely a great way to better know your town (and it's fun taking photos of my Eeyore mascot at sites all over!) I'm astounded by some of the things people create with LEGO. I'm definitely not that good, but I have fun with it :-)
Comment: Thank you! He is going to love this! I love the envie you made for it to go into as well. Such an amazing printable. Did you find it online or make it? Thank you for leaving it unsealed so I can include a ticket(:
Response: I made what's on the envelope myself, with Microsoft Word shapes and clip art found online. I wanted it to look like it had been sent to him for his 11th birthday and had been bouncing around the mail since then, only just now getting to him :-)
Comment: Snazzy printouts .. and a lot of books! I am also trying to diversify my reading -- sometimes it takes more research to find English language books not set in the "usual places" :) Hey, I never knew there were Torchwood books! And I loved The Scarecrow and His Servant. My favorite Pullman book. Reminds me of Candide a bit :)
Comment: This swap made me very happy! So much fun stuff plus a t-shirt like I wished for! I love everything, but the strawberry pouch is too cute!!! (I have a serious bag addiction, so thank you for enabling me!!!) Thank you for all the fabulous goodies and for continuing to host awesome swaps like a boss! ;)
Comment: I love your library. The photos are delightful and Paddington is cute. It is so nice to see another children and teen department besides the ones I work in. Your letter is awesome. Thank you for the bookmark and a glimpse of your favorite library. It looks like a wonderful place to be.
Comment: Oh-MY-Goodnesss! You made me a mini horga'hn!!! LOL! Awesome!! My sister was teasing me because I was so thrilled to play with my movable bookmark :) Thank you for everything! I certainly will celebrate on Monday!!
Comment: Kate, seeing how close you are to completing so many of your big goals is utterly inspiring. It's crazy helpful for newbies like me to see that it can be done. I can't believe that you released 600 books in one month?! Did that leave a big gap in your bookshelf? And your craft room door project sounds awesome - I hope you'll post pics! xo
Comment: Thanks Kate for the Harry Potter theme envelope. I especially liked the photographs from the tour. =)
Response: Yay! I'm glad it arrived intact :-) A few of the photos are from the Wizarding World of HP, one is from a tour I took of shooting locations (Lily & James' house from Godric's Holly), and the rest are from the HP Studio tour. Glad you liked it! Thanks for the heart :-)
Comment: Your wonderful Hundred Acre Wood package came today! What an amazing, creative bag of goodies! I just love everything! The postcard and the message from Piglet in the bottle cracked me up and I can't wait to read the books! Thank you so so much!
Comment: A really interesting mix of books this month, Kate -- thanks for sharing your list and reactions. I hadn't come across 'Beatrix Potter's Gardening Life' before and I think I might like it, so thanks for the recommendation!
Comment: WOW Kate!!! I don't know where to begin, that was by far the most original & most enjoyable swap Ive ever received!!! The Photo album you put together is just amazing and I love the cards you had for each photo describing your trip, I felt like I was right there with you, and the pictures are just breathtaking!!! I already know I will spend many happy hours looking thru the album, it was such an amazing idea, I never expected a personal tour thru Beatrix's home and land!!! All your ideas are so original, The book review I really enjoyed! I LOVE that you sent me Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck books!!! And I am completely in love with the address labels and the gardening gloves as well!! Loved it all, the Pez is adorable and the bookmark too! So many things!! It felt so personal, thank you so much!!! You did such a fantastic job!!! I wish I could give you more than just one heart! :) Hugs Sarah
Response: I'm thrilled you liked the package! I was so very nervous that I might have done it wrong. FYI, I was already reading the biography when the swap was posted and I finished reading just before sending the swap--it was excellent timing! Oh, as for the photos, you made me go back just now and look through all my photos again... and I found one that looks like the cover of the Jemima book! However did I miss that when I was sending photos to the store for printing? LOL http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n427/KateKintail/IMG_0720_zpse9e72103.jpg Anyway, I'm especially happy you liked the photo album and the rest of the package as well. I hope it will all continue to bring smiles in the future.
Comment: Wow, great progress! And you made me think of at least one goal for my next list!
Response: Oh excellent! I find everyone's lists and accomplishments so inspiring. I'm glad I could give you an idea! Are you starting your new list in Oct when you finish the current one or giving yourself a rest in-between? And thanks for the rating *hugs*
Comment: Is there a way to give you 5 million hearts???? Seriously there was quite a bit of happy squealing over your package. It is AMAZING!!! Fab job my dear. I adore everything. The magnets are already on my fridge, I've had a cup of tea, and the bookmark is in my favorite book. You did an epic job. BEST SWAP EVER!!! Thank you!!!!
Response: Aw, you're welcome. Thank you so much for the kind comments! This was SUCH a fun swap. I loved the scavenger hunt format, trying to find things to fit into certain themes instead of just a bunch of BBC Sherlock-related items at random; somehow it made me look around harder. I bought the tattoos first and spotted the magnets on the day before I was planning on sending--what luck! They were too cute to resist. Anyway, I'm so very pleased to know you liked the package!
Comment: Thank you - the vortex manipulator is so cool, my little Boy can hardly part with it for bed :o)
The Bookmark is in use already and the lost pteranodon poster is just the best.
Response: I'm so glad the vortex manipulator went to a good home; I bought it for myself but almost kept it. Now you make me glad I sent it your way. I found the poster online, though I made a few copyedits to it. Anyway, I'm so pleased you like everything! :-)
Comment: Loved “Look for the light
instead of the shadows.â€
~Duncan MacLeod, Highlander: the series quote! Thank you for sharing so many wonderful encouragements. I am going to print them and cut them up into strips and place them in a jar, so I can pull one out as I need a little encouragement.
Happy Mother's Day blessings,
Response: That's my favorite quote from my favorite TV show! Thrilled you liked it and the others. That's a great idea about what to do with all the happy we've been getting in this swap. I'm sure it will turn out nicely :-)
Comment: Stephen King is my favorite author, but there are so many of his books that I haven't read yet. I've got a ton of them on my shelves (including 11/22/63) that I really need to pick up soon. The Story of a Girl sounds like something I would enjoy.
Response: Story of a Girl was definitely well done. Didn't blow my mind, but was definitely a good YA read. If you get to 11/22/63, let me know. I'm DYING to have someone to talk to about it and keep mentioning it to people in my life in hopes that one of them will read it. heehee! Two characters from It show up in the book, and I screamed out loud with happiness several times. LOL
Comment: Thank you for sharing your very thoughtful answers and feelings about the book! I haven't read it yet but it sounds interesting and worth reading should I happen to come across it. I have similar feelings to you about the YA genre overall, as well (I used to dabble in writing it myself). Happy late birthday! ;-) Thanks again for sharing!
Comment: Thank you soooooo much for the awesome stuff! I felt like I was pulling stuff out of the bag forever! Love it all! :)
Response: Oh, I'm so glad. I was so indecisive about what to include. I'm glad you liked everything. I definitely wanted it to be full of goodies. And it was nice to have an excuse to focus more on Dean ;-)
Comment: Congrats on a whopping number of goals moved to the completed shelf!
Ah Gilmore girls, I used to watch that. But it was always scheduled at random hours so I just never saw the end of it... didn't know there were many seasons/eps?
Comment: You are blowing my MIND, woman! I can't believe a) how much you got done in April and b) how close you are to finishing some of your monster-huge goals. It is so inspiring to watch you plow through your list. Thanks so much!
Comment: I also loved And Then There Were None - one of my all time favorite mysteries. I was interested to read your review of Things Hoped For. I've read Things Not Seen, but had no idea it was part of a series. Thanks (I think) for adding another book to my already too long to-read list. :)
Response: I didn't like book 2 in the trilogy as much as book 3 (and I liked book 1 best). But I think it's a nice series that explores more of the concept throughout. Definitely some interesting twists & turns and some new characters. If you read them, let me know what you thought!
Comment: Awesome email!!! I loved your quotes, especially the animal ones, the sea otter and seahorses...couldn't help but smile! Beautiful way for me to start my morning, thankyou! :)
Response: And here I was worried I'd put in too many animal ones (I went looking specifically for some non-animal ones, just in case not everyone was an animal person). Those two were two of my favorites though, so i'm glad you liked them and the rest and that they put a smile on your face this morning!
Comment: ohh, cute LEGo figure. interesting to see how different each board is! I like the concept of a steampunk Red Riding Hood, I think I like that artist's wolf better then their Red.
Response: I actually have that LEGO figure (she's adorable in real life too) so she definitely had to make the list. I totally agree with you about seeing all the different boards. Everyone found such neat/different things!
Comment: I had the same thoughts about the infomercial tone of the webinar's first part. Your middle chapter revisions are subtle but quite effective. Congrats on reconnecting with your coworker/critique partner.
Comment: Because of the Easter holidays, it is only now that I read your wonderful email. Love it! :) I have heard of only a few of those books, so the swap made me curious, too. Your release location looks just perfect! I hope those books found their way into friendly hands (and leave them after a time, too). Good luck with your bookcrossing goals!
Comment: You read a ton of stuff last month! The fanfic sounds awesome. I downloaded the ebook file so I can hopefully check it out soon. I love Stephen King, but sadly I haven't read most of his books yet. I keep collecting them though! Maybe this month I'll pick one up!
Comment: Thanks for your reading log! I'd heard about the BBC series Tipping the Velvet, but mostly the parts about girls making out and vintage underwear--I did hear about it on the internet, after all--so I never pursued it. The book sounds interesting and a lot deeper than that, though, so I may have to see if I can get my hands on it.
Response: Apart from the main character trying to find a place for herself in a society that seems to have no place for her, there is definitely an interesting undercurrent of women's rights and early feminist/women's suffrage movement themes. The book is largely focused on the culture (or lackthereof) of the lesbian community during the Victorian era, though, as told through Nan's personal journey through several different jobs (everything from being a celebrity actress to being down & out and having to sleep in a shelter). It was a great book, but I definitely went into it with a bias as i'd seen & liked the series :-)
Comment: Wow, you got a TON of stuff accomplished this month! I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around the idea of 10,000 BookCrossing books, but it sounds incredible. Your saving projects are also impressive, and completely inspiring. I can't wait to see what you do in April!
Response: Aw, thank you! It's comments like this that REALLY help me stay on top of my goals. Thanks! *hugs*
Comment: Good job making progress this month. I'm inspired by your discipline in not touching your savings efforts. I'm struggling a little with that so you make me determined to work harder on that goal.
Response: Thanks! I've found putting it in a savings account like INGDirect helps because transferring money into my main account is harder and takes some time to do. Good luck with your goals!
Comment: If you're on Goodreads, you can get a code for a widget to put on your blog that automatically shows what you are currently reading as you update it on Goodreads. It's really handy! I agree with you about Forever Young Adult. I follow them with bloglovin, but their format is just so hard to navigate.
Comment: Thanks so much. I put it away so I am not tempted! Thanks for the Tinkerbell pencil. I love tink! I also enjoyed seeing the Christmas return address label, nice touch! Merry Christmas to you too.
Comment: Sounds like you made plenty of good progress this month. Thanks for sharing! How are you enjoying the Veronica Mars shows? Best of luck in March!
Response: I've finished the first season and I really like it. The main characters are likable and there's a good balance of mystery, info, and drama. I'm interested to see where it goes in season 2 now that the big mystery of season 1 has been solved!
Comment: Midnighters sounds interesting, I may have to look into that one. I also hate giving up on books, so I usually force myself to read it. I try to tell myself that I could be spending my time reading something I actually like since there are tons of books out there, but it's still hard.
Comment: AHHHHH this is so good, I love everything, especially all of it. ;) I love the address labels, I'm addicted to address labels. Gonna pass the recipes to my boyfriend to make for us, since I'm a terrible chef. <3
Comment: Hi - I got my swap in the mail yesterday! Thank you so much for the Flora & Fauna goodies - I especially love the flower (which I immediately put in my hair lol) & the cute panda stamp! Thanks for a great swap! ♥Kim♥
Comment: I also learnt to crochet!!! If you go for it, i would highly recommend using tutorials on YouTube!
On Ravelry, there is a group that suggests a granny square per month to practice new stitches but I'm not that good yet! I think I'll just stick to DC!!!
Anyway! Thanks for the list!
Comment: Thanks for sharing. Hey, hearing little voices in your head means you're craaaaazy! Wait a minute. I guess that means I am crazy too, or else we both know we are writers. My elve never shuts up. :)
Comment: Sorry about the late rating; life kind of got away from me.
I loved everything about this swap! I loved the recs on the back of playing cards. (I have to admit, I've been kind of neutral on altered cards, but now I am totally on board and think they're awesome.) I can't wait to try some of the plot bunnies, and I adored the fic. Thanks so much for hosting/sending such an amazing care package. ♥
Comment: Thanks sooooooo much for your swap. I loved it all. I enjoyed learning about him in the sketch, and I loved reading the part of the story. I do plan to look more at your stories, I think I'll like them. :)
Comment: Thank you Kate for your lovely postcard! I didn't know that The Chronicles of Narnia is a story by CS Lewis :) It's true what you say, soooo many books and so little time ;) Kind greetings, Aline
Comment: Where on earth did you find the pop-up! I love it! (I put it on my board, too...hope you don't mind.)
Response: I don't remember where I came across it... possibly through my local LUG's yahoo discussion group? Or maybe a friend sent me the link? I don't really remember, but I am glad now I didn't forget to search around to find it. Isn't that incredible? I can't even imagine what it takes to design something like that! People are so clever. Yay for being inspired by other builders!
Comment: OMG! BEAUTIFUL awesome photos. I just saw them and was like ACK! LOVE them!! I looooove that book, I love everything to do with that book. Thank you soooooo much for making my profile so beautiful!!
Response: Great! It was a little tricky as I hadn't read either of the books for both partners, so I'm glad I wasn't off the mark. The Night Circus has such beautiful imagery; I wanted to stick with the black backgrounds on all of them, but that one drawing was just too pretty. The credit for that one goes to http://kittygrimm.tumblr.com/ by the way. Anyway, I had a difficult time choosing, so I'm glad you liked the ones I finally went with :-) What a fun swap!
Comment: December was super busy for me too. Congrats on #39! Sorry to hear you're still sick though. Hopefully the new year will bring some improvement. I had never heard of More Love Letters, but that is awesome. Sounds like you made plenty of great progress. Best of luck in January!
Comment: Thanks for your reading log! I've thought about reading Redshirts. I'm a ST fan, and have read (years ago) all the TNG books at that time (they were up to 50something) and some of the Voyager. I do love Wil, so I'd probably listen to the audio, though Wil's voice gives me a headache after a while. I listened to him doing Ready Player One and after a while, it gets to be too much! :)
Comment: I received a great package!! I love the Slytherin Bag, the Meeko Ornament!!!, the fandom address labels, and all the other great items I recevied! Thank you soo soo much. You deserve many hearts! <3<3<3<3
Comment: Good work, sounds like your on track with your goals :)
Ps.Thanks for your support and this group otherwise I think I'd be even more behind in my goals.. Also I found a wreck this journal-which I heard of from your goals..such a cool idea so I bought one :D
Comment: KATE!!!!! Thank you so much for the huge box of presents. I can hardly wait until Christmas to tear them open! I love the stocking and it was especially sweet of you to include a present for my mom. I will write back after Christmas to thank you more. I hope you and yours have a Merry, Merry Christmas! Thanks again.
Comment: Right on! I love how it's interchangeable for any Slashiness I can imagine! Right now it's Joss & Capt. Mal for my Whedon tree!!! (My mom's disappointed I didn't keep up Jax & Opie - LOL!) Fantastic Card as well! Love the pull tab concept & the photos!!! ;)
Comment: OMG! I am so sorry. I got your first message of the boards, looked at them and must have accidentally deleted the message. I had no clue I didn't rate you. I'm so sorry! Thanks for your board. I highly recommend Lemoncello. It is such a cute and fun book.
Comment: Sorry for the late rating. I've been a little busy. what kind of graphic novels do you read? Sounds like you made more progress than me. Also take care of yourself. Health is most priority okay? :)
Comment: Thanks for sharing. We have a few of the same tbr books. I have read all the Southern Vampire series (was disappointed in the last one, but for the reasons everyone seemed to be :)). I've also read a lot of Chuck Palahniuk - I quite liked Choke, but not Invisible Monsters very much.
Comment: I loved that you turned something ordinary into a fantastic Christmas theme...love the tree idea! Thank you for the candy to open right away, as well. Those were really neat! I can't wait to start opening!
Comment: Thanks for sharing. It sounds like you have a few projects on the burners. If you have any chance that you can dedicate time to your writing - then make it happen! If I had a few minutes in the day that I could dedicate to myself, I would fill it with writing! As it is, I'll have to wait until my kids leave home :) - I've been getting a lot of swaps lately from people who write a lot of fanfic. I haven't tried my hand at it yet.
Comment: Wow. Such a lot of reading this time. Sounds like you made lots of great progress. I always love to see all the things you're working on. Good luck in November. I hope you start feeling better!
Comment: Thanks so much for your list. I'm glad you got to read more, but I'm sorry it was for that reason. I also wanted to like Incarceron more than I did. I liked it, but didn't love it, and the characters were part of that. It could have been so much better!
Comment: Thanks for joining the swap, hope you enjoyed it. I liked the one Cesar Millian book I read, I thought it was good. I had wanted to train our Pit Bull well, but got really sick early on, so now she's not very well trained, but she does listen to me, just not my hubby. :)
Comment: LOVE my plot bunny mascot. Thanks for fun-filled box!
Response: You're welcome! I hope you weren't too disappointed it wasn't a VHS tape! (How did I even have that box still lying about? heehee) I'm glad you like the little guy. Let me know what you name him!
Comment: What an amazing ATC you did. I also used the same image and wording. I love what you did with it. The yellow brick road background and the tin colored glitter outline. Nice job! One of my favorites this series! Thank you!
Comment: Woot woot! Package arrived today. I'm so excited. I've earned two which I'll be opening shortly. I put them all in a basket in numerical order. I'm going to number the rest of my goals and open as I reach them. Thanks in advance.
Comment: Thanks, Kate! I joined this swap for my little guy in Rwanda, and I think he will like the Pooh bandages. Don't know if he knows who Winnie The Pooh is, but I'm sure he knows about bears, at least. :)
Comment: If I could give you multiple hearts, I would. You went way above and beyond for this swap. Your recommendations are fantastic, thank you. I just read capyboppy, about a capybara, and now I want to read Diary of a Wombat.
Comment: Wow! You got so much done this month! I hope you do get to go through the Blue Ridge Mtns. They are beautiful in the fall and this month will be peak for color. Congrats and good luck in October.
Comment: Thank you for sharing. You have a very interesting list of books. My husband reads a lot of the Star Wars novels as well as graphic novels, but I haven't really looked at any of them. I was also intrigued by all the fanfiction you seem to write - this is one area I haven't attempted yet. I have actually been considering it lately, but don't think I'd know where to begin!
Comment: Congratulations on completing 5. That is a lot to complete in one month. You'll be reaching 101 in no time! The lego castle looks really epic, well done :) And if you do go to blue ridge mountain I'd love to hear all about it (I'm a total tourist aha)
Response: I went to the mountains a few years ago, but didn't make it to the Blue Ridge Parkway that time. The last time I was there was probably... 21 years ago! I look forward to seeing it again, so I put it on my list. Here's hoping! Thanks for the kind words about the goals and the LEGO castle! Much appreciated :-)
Response: Thank you for rating. I hoped you like the bonus recipe and extra themed stickers as well. Memoir/personal essay isn't my strong suit, so I'd love to hear what you think about the piece in the exercise.
Comment: Thanks for the swap! I enjoyed reading your thoughts about all the books you read. I have read a couple you've read, but not the one you chose for the swap. Sounds like it could be a worthy read :)
Comment: I love this ATC! How lucky your friend was to visit all of Anne's places! Years (and years) ago, my great-aunt went up there several times when visiting Canadian relatives (wish she'd taken me just once, but it was technically before my Anne days). On one of her trips, she bought me a cased set of paperbacks of the first three books. I devoured them so much that the case is long gone, and the covers of two of them are held on with packing tape!
Comment: Yes, I'm very glad you asked! I love how you put photos and tables into your letter, I really need to learn how to do that (and I've been lusting after a color printer forever). Thank you so much for this swap and the group!
Comment: I enjoyed your letter! It was interesting to learn that you'll read from fandoms you aren't in - it seems like a great way to find new fandoms!
Response: Usually I'll only read outside my fandoms if it's an author I already know and love (read: trust) or if it's a genre I particularly love (read: hurt/comfort). I really have discovered some great fandoms that way, though. Yay for fanfic! I'm glad you enjoyed my letter :-) It was fun rambling on and on about one of my favorite subjects! Thanks for reading.
Comment: What a great selection of titles and comments, Kate! One odd thing I noticed was that our questions are different at #37 so here's one more from me: how often do I return titles to the Library unread? From time to time. Some books I just want to have a quick look at before deciding - and that can be "no"! Thanks for all the thought you put into this.
Response: OOPS! I used last time's list. I spot checked but didn't realize the two lists weren't identical! Silly me. I'll have to re-send! Thanks for letting me know :-)
Okay, resent. Thanks for letting me read your answer to that question. I always feel guilty taking a book home with me and not reading it. Poor little book! :-)
Comment: Oh WOW! Thank you so much for the beautiful things you sent me! You have really put a smile on my face especially with the book! It will fit nicely with my growing collection and i loved the address labels you sent too i've never had my own labels before!! Your amazing thank you again :))
Comment: Thanks for your reading list. The only one I've heard of off it is the Clockwork Princess. I read the city of Bones and the next 2, and Just didn't want to keep going.
Response: Thanks for reading it. Yeah, I liked the Infernal Devices series much more than the Mortal Instruments series, though the 5th book make MI start getting good again, so I have high hopes for book 6!
Comment: Kate, I want to thank you so much for this swap. I loved EVERYthing in it. I sincerely hope you enjoy what I send, because I feel thoroughly spoiled. I am definitely going to get use out of everything, and I will be sure to post pictures of updates goals in my blog. Thank you, thank you! You are amazing! <3
Comment: Good progress. And keep up the good work. We will get there eventually :) Also I have attempted but don't last very long at keeping my room tidy.. joining a clean swap might be an idea- (Inspired by something you mentioned in your email)
Comment: Thanx for the wonderful bag of goodies - I loved the little Tags on the "Artefacts" :o) Of course I will take good care of your book. My little boy is thrilled with the "Alien-Stuff" you sent. He was running around with the blinking glowing wristband shoved up to his armpit the whole evening *g* the Alien actually got relocated, I'm afraid he has to take it up with Kirk and Spock from now on, sorry abou that.... I adore your Zine - It seems we have a similar taste in reading, I know about half of the Fics you recommend! So now I'm off exploring the other half :oD
Thank you for a really wonderful Package!
Comment: Wow, you did an excellent job of tidying up your desk and shelf and the surrounding area! I also really liked your message, telling me about what you wanted to tidy up, how you did so - and what you found while doing so :) I also know the feeling of finding things I had forgotten I even had, when sorting through old papers for example! So, great job on the tidying up, and I hope it stays that way for a while! And perhaps there will be a similar swap in the future for you to tackle some other parts of the room at some point - if I don't start one, you can :D
Comment: Thank you so much for a great swap! I absolutely love everything! The ornaments are amazing - I had fun showing them to Henry and watching him guess the episodes. I love the bag and all the stuff I can use to trick out my cubicle. The journal and bag are gorgeous. Thank you for making it personal, too, I may have deafened Henry with my fangirling. ;) Awesome swap!
Comment: First of all: Thanks for joining the swap! I had hoped to revive the group, but perhaps some people feel encourgaed, now, that they see that somethings going on.
The lovely bones sounds very interesting. I´ve never heard of it and discovering something new was the purpose. And thanks for the beautiful BCID stickers!
Comment: Again I don't know where to start or how to thank enough! I absolutely loved everything you sent. Ah finally 12 years late my letter from Hogwrarts found me!! Now I know what to do in the future! :D Thank you so much of this wonderful package!
Comment: Thank you so much, these two books sound interesting. Always wanted to go to the national book festival but never been.
Response: WOW. I only sent them media mail yesterday. Good job, USPS workers! heehee Helps that we live so close, I suspect, but still, I'm impressed. I hope you enjoy them! And the National Book Festival is a whole lot of fun!
Comment: Thank you for sharing you reading log. You always have such an interesting mix of books on your list. I also recently read The Lovely Bones after having it on my reading list for a very long time.
Comment: Thank you so much! I loved looking through all the goodies. I like the little matchbook and surprise inside. : ) Thanks again for putting together these swaps, they're my favorite part of swap-bot.
Response: I'm so thrilled you're enjoying the group and that you liked everything. I had something in mind for the book but it lent itself to a matchbook box so much better than my original idea/attempt. I'm happy you liked it! :-)
Comment: Good progress this month! You'll get to 101 in no time.. Lego creations are awesome. Hope you find what you need to make it, would love to see it in all its glory.
ps. Thanks for the Marvel Journal I love it!!
Comment: Thank you for your list and review. I really liked the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy, especially how Sam is the more emotional one in the relationship and Grace is more practical. I didn't cry while reading it either, though!
Response: Thanks for reading and rating! I did like that twist as well. And glad to know you liked the whole trilogy. I'll definitely have to track the second book down when I'm done with the ones I'm reading now. Why did all my holds at the library come in at the same time? Gah! I wish I read faster! :-)
Comment: I received the Friends set, minifig and stickers! I think actually think the Friends series is cute and I do like them, it's just that I'd never buy them myself. It's great that you chose to send me that. Thank you!
Response: Wonderful! I'm glad I made the right choice then! Sometimes the Friends sets have some really neat, unique pieces :-) And, hey, glad I sent you something you didn't already have! Happy building!
Comment: Awesomesauce Kate!!! :D Thank you so much!!! I love what you assembled!! Totally using everything next week!!! :) <3 <3 <3
Response: I'm so glad you liked everything! It was a fun swap to put together :-) It was fun to walk the fine line between Harry Potter items meant for a swapper and magical items meant for Harry--it was fun trying to think up items that would work for both! I'm glad you'll be able to put some of it to good use!
Comment: Jeez, I even archived it - don't know what I was thinking! It was really an enjoyable read - a couple of characters I'd forgetten when thinking about my own list, and a couple that I never heard of who sounded intriguing! And I love the way you put it together, even including (with reasons) those who didn't make the cut! Thanks, and sorry for the late rating!
Response: Hey, no worries. I'm just glad it wasn't lost in the mail! I'm glad you enjoyed the lists and that there were some familiar faces and some you have yet to meet in books :-) Happy reading!
Comment: I love your collections, especially your keychains and your Harry Potter things; I really want to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Thanks for sharing! :)
Response: Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the photos of my collections. The WWofHP is definitely a great place to visit. I had a 4-day pass to Universal Studios and I spent 3.5 days just in the Wizarding World!
Comment: Wow! I love this so much. Thanks!!! I can't believe how much stuff you managed to fit into one little box (which was absolutely adorable). And you have perfect timing too. I was just looking for return address labels the other day. There is just too much cuteness to mention in this one! Thanks!
Response: Wonderful! I'm so glad you liked it all! I went crazy trying to find a box the right size--the place where I usually buy them stopped carrying them and I freaked out a little (I don't like change! lol). And I'm thrilled that the address labels came at a great time too. Yay!
Comment: I LOVE Everyday--one of my all time favorites!!! Awesome postcard too!! Thank you!
Response: Well, I'm glad I put two books on the postcard, as you'd already read one of them! So great to know there's another fan of Everyday (I seriously recommend it to everyone who's a human being lol). Am glad you liked the postcard--I just made them last month :-)
Comment: Thankyou kate for sharing your collection of ATCs, Eggs and eeyore. I love how you have put your ATCs in an album, it loks so nice. I love your collection of eggs. Wow I love your eeyore collection, he looks so cute in your cabinet, What a collection of keyrings you have Kate, thankyou love Jennifer.
Response: I thought you might get a kick out of the Eeyores. Thanks for your enthusiastic comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it all :-)
Comment: I love all your collections. I have ATC's too but not displayed yet. Working on it
Response: I was indecisive for a while about how best to keep my ATCs. I had them in little collector boxes for a while, but a few ATCs were took thick or too tall. Binders give me more flexibility and I can arrange & rearrange however I like. Right now I have one for fandom series (shows/movies) and one binder for one-off or artistic cards. Thanks for reading and for the heart!
Comment: This is great that I got you as a partner twice! Now I will have matching ATC's! You did a wonderful job on this Fizzgig ATC! And thanks for the extra card sleeves. Just by coincidence, I was running out!
Response: Oh good! I'm glad you weren't disappointed to have two done in the same style :-) And it's great the sleeves came at such a good time!
Comment: You really outdid yourself on this box. My mom and I were having a fun time looking through it, earlier. Thank you :)
Response: I'm glad you liked it. The 101 Dalmatians book was especially fun to put together; I saved the document with all the facts in case I want to make myself one :-) I also had a lot of fun making the little cards-wish I could have done even more Disney villains that way. Anyway, enjoy all the goodies!
Comment: Thank you so much for you package! Sorry it took a little time to register it. The 4th was a crazy weekend here. I loved the way you wrote yours up. It was neat to take a peak into someone else's life, although it is kind of scary how similar our interests are. I loved all the little extras you sent too. Thanks so much!!
Response: I'm so glad you liked the package and that my life wasn't too boring for you! I saw the mini comp books at the store and just knew I had to do something with them. For a fandom-related drive to help the victims of the Tsunami a few years ago I put together a similar package every day for an entire year of my life! It's been a while since then and this felt like a throw-back. Great to make a new fangirl friend on here! (PS- you and my sister have the same first name; there's another coincidence).
Comment: I guess you decided to change a few rules to the swap to boost your blog views.
Response: Whoa, what? That's uncalled for. I care nothing for blog views, and I did not "change" any rules at all. The swap rules clearly state: "Other options include providing a link to a blog post" so that's what I do. That way, I can format it however I like and it won't get lost in people's spam filters.
Comment: You don't mess around with your reading list! I have read Divergent, and I really liked it, but I found Insurgent to be kind of boring. I always stop reading/listening in the same spot.
Response: Thanks! These swaps are really helping me stay on top of my book reviews each month (I used to really fall behind). Plus it's SO much fun to see what other people have read. Thanks for the warning about Insurgent!
Comment: That is an awesome list! I love your merit badges. I have tried to do a 365 photography project and failed miserably. I'm thinking about maybe just doing a month long project of self portraits. Best of luck!
Response: Thanks! Every year during my birthday week I do a "Week in the life" and take 5-8 photos a day for a week. Then I can compare them year to year. That's been a fun project. The 365 one is making me nervous--it only takes one day for me to destroy all the progress I've made! Meep! But a month of self portraits sounds like a great project too!
Comment: Thankyou kate forthe lovely e-mail, I love the meaninig or your swap-bot name Katekintail. Thankyou for sharing the history of Kintail with me, I enjoyed reading it. I would love to visit Scotland. Thanks, love jennifer.
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. It was a fun sharing swap!
Comment: Hi James! Loved the letter you sent! LOL!!
That was all too funny, Kate.
Response: When I first saw "Hi James" for one brief moment I thought that you were leaving a rating for the wrong person *facepalm* Apparently I haven't trained myself properly yet. Thanks for making me laugh as well! Am glad you enjoyed the letter :-)
Comment: Love it! The card is so beautiful, and I love that there's the pic of Toews raising the Cup from 2010! I'm enjoying the heck out of this final, even if the Hawks keep giving me panic attacks.
Response: Go Hawks! Given the state in which you live, I thought that might be who you were supporting--gotta love those victory laps on the ice! I'm glad you liked the ATC, which might be the closest I come to seeing the cup ever (c'mon, Caps! heehee).I totally know what you mean about having a hard time watching--when my boys are playing, I get super nervous. Thank goodness for my ability to craft while watching hockey. Here's to a great season with an especially great ending!
Comment: Thanks for the list and review! I'm still working on my book - I may not finish before sending mine out, but it is very good! Anyway, I enjoyed what you sent - thanks!
Response: As it's the first time we've done this swap, I wasn't sure how long to make the reading period. I thought more than a month was a safe bet, though I ended up earreading mine and got through it much faster than I'd expected. Happy reading to you--hope you've got a good one :-)
Comment: Looks like it doesn't matter that you didn't finish a goal, you made so much progress on some of the larger goals! With all that stress, not gaining any weight back is a great achievment, too...
Response: Aw, thank you! What a sweet comment. *hugs*
Comment: OMG Kate!!! WOW! Just WOW!!! So amazingly awesome!!! I love it allllllll! You went above & beyond a mini bag! So RAD! Thank you, Thank YOU!!! I'll post pics sometime soon to Facebook :)
Response: You've sent me so many awesome packages, I wanted to be sure to return the favor (plus I had you as a partner last Star Trek in a Mini Bag swap, so I had fun trying to come up with some different things this time around). I'm so thrilled you like it all! :-)
Comment: Thanks for the wonderful package and for hosting this detailed swap! The book you sent is one I recommend to people, and I am going to give it to my daughter. I am also quite intrigued to read "Paper Towns" and "Every Day", so thank you! :0)
Response: Sorry for sending a book you'd already read, but I'm glad it will find a good home! I'm glad you liked the package and hope you had fun with this swap! I definitely recommend anything by John Green (he co-wrote a book with the same author who wrote "Every Day") as well :-) Happy YA Reading!
Comment: Some great sounding books! I just read John Green's first book & it was great. :) I'm surprised you didn't finish any of the books you started back in April. Are they boring?
Response: It's not that they're boring; the problem is that I have certain books for certain places. I only went to the allergist's twice this month, so I only got about 35-40 minutes during the whole month to read the book that I read there, for example. I did finish Wormwood, though, that was in progress last month! I'm just a really slow reader if it's a book that's not on audio. I just posted a new entry on my blog about where/how I read :-) John Green is my favorite current contemporary writer; I highly recommend EVERYTHING by him! :-)
Comment: Thanks for the link to your journal, and for links to the books! I'm curious about Shay's story, although now that you've mentioned the pretty art, I'm wondering if I should read it.
Response: I'm a Zane fan, so it was worth reading to see him again in that book. And I rather like Shay, so the concept was good. Some of the art choices just baffled me. Anyway, thanks for reading! :-)
Comment: Thank you so much for the Red Wings ATC! I absolutely love it! Now that our teams will be in the same conference next season hopefully there will be some good games to watch! Thank you for the extra stuff as well! I can't wait to use them for future swaps!
Response: I'm so glad you like the ATC and the extras. Here's to a nice, FULL season of hockey starting in the fall!
Comment: Hi Kate - thanks SOOO much for the swap! I actually didn't have the TIE Fighter yet, so that was cool! Love the stickers too - I haven't seen that particular sheet before. The bookmark was rad because I think Yoda is probably the cutest mini-fig in the Star Wars series. AND - those labels are awesome - thanks for making them for me!! Too many exclamation points for one comment!!!!! :D
Response: I'm so glad I was able to give you some things you didn't already have. Hope you have fun with them. And there can never be too many exclamation points! :-)
Comment: Fantastic package! Love all the Totoro things. The bag is so adorable. Thank you so much.
Response: You're welcome! I'm glad they made it to you safe and sound. The bag was the first thing to pop into my mind when I saw the swap description. And I had lots of fun thinking up little things to make for each of the boxes. I'm happy you liked everything!
Comment: Thanks for the as ever organized progress report! I'm glad that you got to see the bird exhibit. That sounds really fascinating. I'm still in awe of the number of books you read and manage to let go of. I'm such a book hoarder; that's why one of my things is to try and get rid of 300. You just did that in one month! Gasp! Best of luck in May and hope the house begins to feel like home really soon!
Response: Boy, I'm behind on my responses--sorry! Thanks so much for the comment and kind words. Many of the books I BookCross aren't ones I've personally read; they're ones I've accumulated or bought in order to register them and watch them travel the world. So it's not quite so impressive :-)
Comment: Wil Wheaton! I haven't read his book yet either, but it's definitely on my list. Do you watch TableTop on YouTube?? It's GOLD! If you like boardgames. ;) I just read Stardust by Gaiman and American Gods is on my shelf waiting too. Ella Minnow Pea is funny and quirky and a quick read, and now I want to read it again. Thanks for all the great detail! Extra hearts for you ♥♥♥♥
Response: I've heard of TableTop but haven't watched it yet--now I'm very excited to; thanks! It's great to hear some of your thoughts on books I listed, too. Happy reading to you!
Comment: Wow is all I can say about this package.
Thank you very much! when writing I'm a plotter... I usually get Ideas for how I start and end a story I just don't remember what my imagination wanted in the middle....
thank you for all the links. also I needed 2 more friends to suggest a book so thanks.. so I shall go on a hunt and read your suggestion.
I am part of a improvisation society but since I'm not living in Christchurch/major city some goals such as the flashmob goal are on standby for now. Thanks for all the support and suggestions :D
Response: Boy, it took a long time to get to you! I was just worrying about it over the weekend--the shipping cost even more than the contents and I was worried I'd have to do it all over again if it got lost in the mail! But I'm glad it made it to you safe & sound. And I'm glad you liked it! It was so much fun to put together!
Comment: I had fun reading your list--I think our films overlapped by about 25%. Hockey movie: Have you seen "Rocket"? about Rocket Richard--does have subtitles. Or "Love at first Bite"? (vampires, not hockey). Or have you seen BBC's Top Gear TVs show? Ewan MacGregor was their "Star in a reasonably priced car" one week. Thanks for the journal and the popcorn air freshener. MMMM popcorn.
Response: Ewan on Top Gear was fantastic (though I bet he could have done the course it in half the time if he'd been on his bike!). I haven't seen the movies you mention though (I might have seen some of "Rocket" while flipping through channels one day, but definitely not the whole thing, so I didn't want to include it). Thanks for reading and for the recommendations! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Comment: It was all fascinating to read. You have some great goals. Love the bird life list. I visited the NG Museum, too, they had another great exhibit. I wish you could take me to see a meteorite shower, too. Good to break up that goal about the house into smaller ones!
Response: Thanks LWB! Boy, I'm super behind in responding to comments. Thanks so much for reading through my list; I'm glad you found it interesting! I'm a little spoiled here in the DC area with so many free museums, but the NG Museum was definitely worth a visit, so I'm glad I finally gave myself an excuse to go!
Comment: The dragons pick was fantastic, deserve the black shiny plaque base! The Space video was way cool. Who does not LOVE The Princess Bride!? I did watch and thoroughly enjoy the MiniFig (Funny) Presentation as well. I love that you used videos and that you posted statements about why you picked each item! Extra Special Job!
Response: I'm glad you enjoyed my choices and the variety. Thanks so much for swapping with me in this swap ;-)
Comment: I love my package! Everything was so thoughtfully chosen. And the wash rubber duckie made me laugh so hard! Thank you.
Response: I'm so embarrassed that I got THIS behind in responding to rating comments. Especially as getting comments fills me with happy. I'm SO glad you liked your package of goodies. I'm also embarrassed to say I stood in the store for a good 5 minutes at least trying to remember the color of the shirts Wash wears, wanting to choose a duck that was as close to one of them as possible. Luckily, I chose correctly in the end. I'm glad you got a kick out of it ;-)
Comment: Very impressed! Even with a trip to Boston during the month you still managed to make so many strides! I"m intrigued by that book about the Hitler Youth. May have to find that at my own library. And you picked a good time to read it. Iirc, April features Holocaust Remembrance Day. Happy early birthday to you! Good luck with the P365. I know that I would fail at that challenge. :D (P.S. I get daily e-mails from this website: http://captureyour365.com/ Sometimes I need some inspiration for Project Life and I'll grab something from these lists.)
Response: I'm SO behind in responses. I'm SO sorry. But thank you so much for such great feedback! A daily email sounds like it would really help (I'm starting to get tired taking photos of the flowers outside my house LOL). Thanks for the encouragement and suggestion! Good luck with your things!
Comment: You've managed to read quite a bit more than I have this month, I'm envious. I also audiobook a lot of things, when I drove 9-11 hours a day, it was the easiest way for the hours to pass quickly, and for me to be able to "read" books.
Response: It was an unusually productive month for me :-) Earreading audiobooks definitely makes me feel more productive, but my commute is only 15 minutes, so it's very short bursts at a time :-)
Comment: I miss audiobooks! I used to have a job that I could do while listening to them all day. Alas. I love that you read volumes 2-4 of Spider-man, but haven't finished volume 1 yet. :) Sounds like the way I read sometimes.
Response: In my defense, I didn't realize how much of a series it was until l finished Volume 2. And then I just read in whatever order my holds at the library came in! It was hard reading Volume 1, knowing what was coming for the characters though! But still enjoyable. I listen to audiobooks in my car, but my commute is 15 minutes, so I make slow progress. I miss listening to them all day, too! I can only do that on data entry jobs. Thanks for reading my log and for the great comments!
Comment: Thanks for your book log! I'd heard so many wildly mixed reviews about Gotham by Gaslight that I've been hesitant about it, but I think that I will give it a go. :)
Response: I really liked the first story and the alternate reality details... but the second story (last third of the book) wasn't as good as the first one. Definitely worth a try, I think! Thanks for reading my list! :-)
Comment: That is a lot of goals in progress! I've never heard of badge books, you will have to tell me how those work.. Sounds interesting :)
I usually post an entry in my blog at the beginning of each month with some goals I'd like to achieve or make progress in..It helps me break it down and focus on certain goals at a time.So glad it's working for you too :D Keep it up Kate
Response: Awesome advice! I wish I'd known about that trick during my first two lists; that would have helped me stay on track! Better late than never :-) Badges are what girl scouts here in the USA earn and my favorite part of being a scout when I was a kid was going through the book and earning badges on my own. You get to learn all kinds of things and have an excuse to try all sort of things. So this is sort of the adult version of that for me! http://cb.pbsstatic.com/l/62/3462/9780884413462.jpg
Comment: This is an awesome envelope!! My boyfriend thought it was "real" at first and was confused! Thanks for the address labels!!
Response: Aw, what great feedback! It was only my third time doing mail art and I was worried it might not make it in one piece. So YAY! Sorry for COMPLETELY flaking and forgetting to include a note explaining that the front was supposed to look like a box and the back like a 2x3 brick with 6 studs... but you probably figure that out yourself :-) I'm glad you liked it!
Comment: Loved the envelope and labels. Thanks for hosting such great swaps!
Response: You're welcome. Thanks for participating. I am glad you liked your envelope and address labels. I'm SO stupid and forgot to include the notes I wrote to y'all in your envelopes. But the front is obviously supposed to look like a box and the back like a 2x3 brick with 6 studs :-)
Comment: Thanks! I love Dr Seuss books, they are fun to read no matter how old you are. And I have a lot of unfinished books too, they're all so enticing you have to pick them up!
Response: Absolutely right about the Dr. Seuss books! I loved visiting the Seuss world at Universal Studios a few years ago--it's like being in those books! And it's great to know I'm not the only person who gets easily distracted by new, shiny books *G*
Comment: I really needed the kick in the pants your comments gave me. I read that book a couple of years ago. Reading your comments reminded me how much I need to apply Mosley's advice right now.
Response: Thanks for the rating (I was worried maybe the mail had eaten it). Definitely make this the year you write your book! My problem is... two new stories just threw themselves at me. Ugh. Too many ideas and not enough time!
Comment: Thanks for the Progress Report! You were certainly more focused than I was during February. I fell off the wagon, my report reflects that, and I'm excited to hop back on, and focus more in March. Hope March is equally productive for you as February. Best of luck!
Response: Thanks so much for the comment. I hope March picks up for you as well. Having you all to be accountable to really helps me keep going!
Comment: WOW!!! You did an outstanding job on this swap!!! I love everything! The ATC's are fabulous. Thank you so much! I wish I could give you a million hearts. Yours is all packaged up and ready to go to the post office tomorrow. The eBay seller came through, so you'll have a couple extra surprises.
Response: I'm so thrilled you like it all! I know they're small, but the ATCs and case notebook were my favorite to make. I'm still on Season 5 (episode 16 now), but even though I'm done with the swap, I'm planning to finish the series before moving on (though I did take a break for the new House of Cards series on Netflix). ANYWAY, I'm so happy you liked the package and that it made it there safe & sound. I can't wait to get/open yours!
Comment: This swap was so amuseing,Wow I got all this Rat Stuff,I just loved it all, I haven"t owned a rat since my last one died 2 years ago.I have been thinking on getting one and now you"ved made up my mind, lol Its just they die so young, like 2 or three. Loved all the address rat lables, tags,Everything. You made my day!!! Thanks so much! 50+hearts for you!!
Response: I saw a photo of your rat on your Flickr-awwww! I wasn't sure if you had a new one or not, but now I think you must get one (I owned hamsters; similar life span and I still miss them many years later). Anyway, I had a fun time making/buying a whole variety of items to fit the theme. I'm so glad you enjoyed it all!
Comment: Kate - Thank you for this amazing package. I love all of it. You are too generous. Thank you so so much. Such cute things !
Response: You're welcome! It was lots of fun putting it together, piece by piece until I wasn't sure how I was going to fit it in the box LOL I went to the craft store the other day and had to untrain myself from noticing Hello Kitty items there! I'm happy you like it all :-)
Comment: You've accomplished a lot this month! Like you, I feel more motivated to do stuff, so I get to cross it off. Thank you for making these swaps, they inspired me to make my list.
Response: Thanks. Yay for crossing things off our lists! I hope to hear about yours in the next progress swap. Have a good time working through it! Oh, and thank you for taking the time to read through mine! :-)
Comment: Whoa! You are just way more detailed and organized about this than I could ever hope to be. Made reading easy. (For the moment, I just read the email; I have plans to check out the LJ links at a later date.) I think 4 goals in just shy of 2 months is fantastic. Guess that experience with previous lists is paying off in your approach to making steady progress through the list. ;)
Thank you for this swap and the group! I hope that once we've sort of dipped our toes into doing these progress reports that next month will be even grander. Love the accountability that this swap provides to actually get moving on doing and noting the accomplishments.
I'm working on compiling my data now, as I have a little word document that I keep. I'm sort of a failure at blogging, so I won't have nice and neat places to link.
Thanks again! Will see you next month, if not sooner. Good job so far and good luck for February!
Response: Everyone has his/her own style, so no worries about not having a blog/links. Keeping track of it at all is an accomplishment! I'm glad you like the swap idea (I definitely need someone keeping me accountable) and look forward to seeing your progress down the road in a future swap. Best of luck with your list of goals and thanks for rating so quickly :-)
Comment: Thank you so much for the awesome card and the TARDIS box of candy! The mime scene between the Doctor and Donna is one of my favorite Doctor Who scenes. I also really like the Adipose - really for no other reason than they are cute so you did a really great job!
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! It was so much fun to make once I decided what to do for it :-) I can't remember if I put it in the note, but the ring pops are to represent the first time we see Donna (as a bride) and a couple of the conversation hearts said "SWEET" on them, so they seemed perfect for this swap. Happy early Valentine's Day, Sweetie! :-)
Comment: You are a MONSTER! I can't believe how much you've done. It's obvious you love what you do. <3 (And I can get you an invite to AO3 if you want another.)
Response: I hope my letter was all right; I tend to ramble when I get excited about a subject. This was definitely a fun swap and I can't wait to read my partner's letters! :-) I'll message you about AO3, thanks! And thanks so much for reading & rating. Happy fanfic writing & reading to you!
Comment: There was so much to love about this fun swap: writing magazine, writer comics, dancing sunflower, and CD! I actually squealed when I saw the writing guide for mothers book. My son and I have already played with the Story Cubes and love them. Thank you for facilitating our sweet time together today, a priceless gift I treasure.
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I was worried the story cubes wouldn't be too useful given what you write, so I'm thrilled to know you & your son are enjoying them! I'm glad you liked all the items :-) Happy writing!
Comment: You're lucky you've got a group with whom to discuss your writing - although it's unfortunate they don't really understand where you're coming from -- if possible a friend or better a couple who share your preferences would be good readers too. Good luck.
Response: I'll have to contact my coworker who read my first story and see if he's up to the others. And I definitely have online friends who wouldn't mind reading for me. I figured out what the 7th story is going to be and started writing it, so I'm already well on my way! Thanks for reading!
Comment: The collection sounds like a great idea! Good luck!
Response: Thank you! The more I think about it, the less likely it is I'll be able to finish the thing this year. But even if I get a first draft done with everything written and edited and ready to be formatted, that'll be more than I've been able to do in a few years on the project and I'll call it a success :-) Happy writing in 2013!
Comment: Thank you so much for this awesome swap! :D Gandalf got a place of honour (SO cute :D) and I love all the other goodies as well. The tag is fab (Gandalf as well by the way, hah). Maybe it's a good thing they're not selling them here, or anything for that matter. My purse is thankful. lol. I looove the recipe booklet, bookmarks are always welcome, love the pen and the cards will be great for crafting. Thank you very, very much for this swap! :)
Response: I'm glad you liked everything! I thought about opening the tag to make sure it was a character you liked (I bought one for myself as well; haven't opened it yet), but in the end I figured it would be more fun for you if you opened it yourself. I'm glad to know it was Gandalf! It was difficult to find much merch out there for The Hobbit, I was sad to find. But I was glad to find a little on my quest that you didn't already have. And I asked all my friends for recipes for the book (only got one or two from the internet in order to get a full spread of pages; I had such a great time making that booklet, perfect for a hobbit to stick in his pack before heading out on an unconventional adventure.
Comment: Cute card, your cat is adorable, and he looks so happy that you rescued him!
Response: I will tell him you said so! :-) In truth, he adopted/chose me, so I'm the one who's lucky (says the person who was woken up an hour early by a fuzzy one in her face and cut her finger on the cat food can this morning LOL). I'm glad you liked the postcard!
Comment: I really enjoyed the background and history of your ATC. Thank you.
Response: Thank you for the rating + heart. My town is just a normal subburb apart from that bit of history still standing, so it was fun getting to focus on that for an ATC. Glad you enjoyed my location!
Comment: I absolutely love what you made for me! I especially love the emergency evil spirit neclace and the Abby Schuto namebadge. The bookmarks will definitely come in handy as I am always reading more than 1 book at a time :)
Response: Yay! I'm so happy you liked it all. Happy reading too :-)
Comment: Kate - I got her and she's lovely! Everything in the jar is great! Thanks so much!
Response: Oh, I'm so relieved! I redid the bird on the string 10 times before I was sort of happy with its position. And I had to re-stick the snowflakes probably no fewer than 50 times with various sticking methods LOL I'm so glad she made it safe & sound. Also, the tag has a hole in it if you wanted to attach it to the jar (I wasn't sure how you like to display those things). Anyway, I'm so glad you like her! Thanks for the rating.
Response: Thanks. I hope you enjoyed it and the personal essay. I was so nervous about reading it at my roundtable I was literally shaking! Definitely a good book; I am so thankful for this swap making me read some of these books I've owned for YEARS and never read!
Comment: love reading your answers, loved the idea of themed gift baskets , I remember the pound puppies
I hope you had a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Response: Pound Puppies rock! Now there's something I never expected to say on swap-bot. LOL So good to know someone else remembers them. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my answers & rate. I hope you have a wonderful new year too! :-)
Comment: Thank you for the swap. I love looking at christmas lights too!!
Response: I wish I had a big house and could decorate as extravagantly as some of the houses out there! Christmas lights for all! heehee Thanks for taking the time to read & rate. Happy almost new year to you!
Comment: The most amazing thing was the child-like wonder I experienced simply opening and unpacking your package. It was so profound I left all the gifts together on the table to enjoy for another day. That said, I really, really loved the magazine and CDs. Thank you so much. Wishing you a sweet holiday.
Response: I'm so happy you liked everything, even the items that didn't quite fit into the stocking. Best wishes for your writing in 2013! and I'll see you in another swap soon! :-)
Comment: Love the atc even though I can't stand Dawn lol
Response: I thought she was a really neat wrinkle on the show. I might be the only one who liked her though! LOL (Not loved, mind you, just didn't hate). I'm glad you liked the ATC. Always nice to have a set! PS, if you don't mind my style for this series, I'd be happy to do a private swap with you for the ones you missed!
Comment: Thank you for such a great package! The matchbox book was adorable! I loved the Disney theme! Yay I love it! :)
Response: I'm so glad you liked it. I went to your profile for theme ideas and I'm a big Disney fan too, so it seemed like a fun theme to play with. I'm eager to make more of these books now. So much fun!
Comment: Kate! Guess what! The Doctor sent me an awesome Christmas card and TWO fabulous ornaments! Isn't that cool?!? If he was here I'd tell him how much I loved all of it, and would wish him a merry, merry Christmas! Thanks :)
Response: Oh my goodness! You're so lucky! Maybe he'll pay you a visit in person on Christmas and you can tell him then. If not, I'll be sure to pass the message along through my channels and we'll hope he gets it. Cheers! So glad you liked it all.
Comment: Just a fabulous journal, thank you, Kate! I read it in one sitting. You put in a lot of time and I appreciate it. Maxwell is ADORABLE! Thanks for reading my blog - I'm now motivated to keep it up. Thanks again!
Response: I had a fun time putting it together- was both happy and sad to send it off! I'm so glad you like it! And I shall tell Max you said so; he shall be pleased and demand extra treats LOL I realized last night I meant to put in my next list of 101 Goals in 1001 days--oops. But I'm glad it was fun to read without it. And definitely keep up that walking--such a clever idea! Have a wonderful rest of the year!
Comment: Thank you very much for the lovely card! I also appreciate the book suggestions. I'm very excited about the bookmark. I was just asking the Bookmark Ordering Librarian at the library where I work if we could get some of the Hobbit bookmarks. I don't think she was too into the idea. Now, I have a Hobbit bookmark after all! Thanks again and Happy Bookmas!
Response: I'm such a geek to buy from ALA and I'm not even a librarian (though I do volunteer at two libraries). I was thinking of making a bookmark for the swap, but I'm glad I gave you the Hobbit bookmark instead. Great when those things work out! Just like me saving those outdated stamps that were just perfect for the envelope! Happy reading & happy holidays!
Comment: Great cards! I've known Lois Lowry for a long time, but didn't know much about David Leviathan! Thanks!
Response: It would have been too long to fit on the card, but my favorite thing David Leviathan does is every year he writes a story for his friends & family for Valentines Day and some of them end up being published. I think it's a neat & creative tradition and cool that we get to enjoy some of the results too! So far, I'm like Lowry's "Son" more than "The Messenger" so that's good :-)
Comment: This was a well put-together package and I love all the contents! I was very excited, probably too much for a 40 year old woman opening a THG pkg, per my children! lol THANKS SO MUCH!!! You rock & may the odds be ever in YOUR favor!
Response: I'm so glad you liked everything! I'm curious to find out what little figure you got in the mystery box. I am glad it made you smile; you can never be too old to enjoy a package of fannish goodness :-)
Comment: Thank you for everything. The package was amazing. An extra special thanks for the hot chocolate and mug...will relax with a mug tonight!!!
Response: I saw that in the store a few days ago and was on the fence about buying it. Am glad I made the right call. Enjoy! :-) PS- the apple/trading cards could be used for ATC-making or any other Twlight-themed crafts, I suppose.
Comment: Loved everything, especially the chocolate "galleons" from Gringotts!
Response: Am glad you liked everything! My printer died, then my computer died, and then my new printer started acting up when I was printing some of those coupons. So I'm glad I could get it out to you on time! Am very glad you enjoyed it.
Comment: Thanks for the great atc I love the concept.
Response: I can't wait to make them for the whole series. Now if I could only watch the series at the same pace as making ATCs, I'd be caught up to present day in no time. heehee Thanks for the rating & heart!
Comment: Sorry it took me so long to rate! I was impressed by how soon I got it! The ATC is great and I love the stickers! :)
Response: Woot! I was just about to message you and ask if you needed a re-send. I'm glad you got it & the sticker sheet (I knew I was keeping those around for some good future use! heehee) Glad you like it!
Comment: Thanks for my little determined actor! I'm sure he'll go far in life with such drive! This swap was a great start to a fun group. Thanks also for going beyond the requirements with the extra accessories and sticker sheet.
Response: Once I'd stuck all the different elements together, it took a while to figure out why it would be so mismatched. Once I realized he'd dressed in the dark, I just had to add a cape & flashlight *G* I'm glad you got a kick out of him. Thanks for participating in my first LEGO group swap!
Comment: SO EXCITING! I've already hooked the stuffed animal on my Nano bag and I've got big plans for that little notebook. Thank you!
Response: Whoohoo! I really wanted to get you matching pens but the bin where I got the notebook was GONE during my return trip to the store. I cried. Okay, I didn't, but I could have. So I'm glad I got that notebook when I did! Enjoy :-) And I'm glad you like the little guy. I hope he protects your precious word count for you! Happy writing!
Comment: Your Tenderheart ATC came out amazing!!! I loved it! I have horded the last set of carebear stickers for 25 years. The sheet you gave me may end up going to my children or grandchildren in 25 years! :)
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I was lucky that all three partners wanted different bears, and I'm glad you don't mind the one I selected for you. I hope you/your children/grandchildren enjoy the stickers one day. LOL! I do the same thing, though, hanging on to things I love best and then, dozens of years later, figure out the perfect project or use for it :-) Thanks for the rating & heart!
Comment: love love love love my Grumpy!!! I turned it over and seen the 2nd and he is my new favorite!!! I love the caption you added!!! Can you email me the pictures so I can print off some of my own?? oh thanks for the stickers..lol I about forgot about them..lol
Response: I found the images on the internet (did an image search for Grumpy) and cut them out carefully (if you can't find them, let me know). The rhyme is my own creation. Glad you liked the ATC & the stickers! Thanks for the great swap!
Comment: beautiful job...love my good luck bear.....thanks for the awesome stickers...great job..thanks
Response: I was LUCKY enough to get partners with requests for three different bears. So it was lots of fun thinking up little rhymes for each of them :-) I'm so glad you like him and hope you enjoy putting the stickers to good use!
Comment: I love your trading cards! Did you do them on any particular program? And thanks for sending Rowling!
Response: All done using Microsoft Word, actually. I didn't even open Photoshop on my computer for any of them. I'm glad you liked the cards, especially JKR (I just started her adult book yesterday, coincidentally).
Comment: These are amazing, I love the Impala, awesome!
Response: I decided to make the Impala one, but I had some other ideas as well. I thought the Impala one turned out fine (note the Devil's Trap inside the trunk, heehee) but the map idea is one I've used on SPN wrapping paper and SPN mail art and wanted to try it on a matchbox as well. I'm glad you liked them!
Comment: Love the ornaments, the tree ones are my fave!
Response: I made the green one for my very first SPN swap here last year (and have sent it around in ATCs and other packages). But the boys' tree in the Christmas episode had lots of different colored trees. It was fun deciding on some Impala-related quotes to include on the other ones. Can be used on a Christmas tree or hanging from your rear view mirror when it's not the holiday season! :-)
Comment: Thanks for the ATCs they are cool! And where did you get that stamp of the tattoo? Omg, I need one of those!!
Response: I'm glad you like them. It was fun hunting down quotes from each of them (thank goodness you chose demons with lots of lines; don't know what I would have done with a Windego! LOL). I bought the stamp from dragonflycurls on etsy (looks like she's on vacation right now). She had one for sale once but it was sold, so I had to special order it, but SO worth it considering all the SPN swaps I do on swap-bot! I've bought some Harry Potter and Doctor Who stamps from her as well and they're all great quality.
Comment: I thought that badger looked familiar :) ha! He turned out really cute :) I really like the effect on the atc of just using black and white with yellow highlights. Very striking!
Response: I am happy you like both! You definitely don't want to see the rejected versions of the stuffie LOL I know Tonks' hair is usually pink or purple, but I think she'd turn it yellow in honor of her house *G* I'm glad you liked the effect.
Comment: Love the jar!!! The fairie is adorable and I love al your ideas and takes on it! The note card is so sweet! The colors are beautiful!!! Thanks so much and it all arrived just perfect!!! Your box made me so happy! Hugs, Dawn Gallop stampmom9
Response: Oh wow--it got there before I could even upload the photos to Flickr! I'm so relieved it made it there safe and sound and that you're pleased with it! I'm glad she's found a good home with you :-)
Comment: You still get a heart, even though you prefer Willow and Tara together.... :)
Response: LOL Thanks! Actually, one of my favorite fanfic writers has a series where Kennedy (who is def. not my favorite) and Willow are shacking up together and they have a little baby named Tara... thanks to Oz. I love "super loyal and protective will fight anything to keep WIllow safe" Oz :-) Sometimes it helps to have a werewolf as a secret weapon.
Comment: Thank you very much for the items! That apron is too cute and I never knew there were Eureka books! I'll also have to add some of the reading list books to my ever growing list of things I'd like to and want to read!
Response: Did I say in my note that I picked up that CA reading list from a table at the National Book Festival? I know it's not strictly Eureka, but that's the state motto(?) and I saw you liked that genre of books, so I thought it fit well enough to stick in there :-) Glad you liked the apron, the book (no spoilers in it past what you've seen), and the other items! Thanks for helping me celebrate the end of the series!
Comment: This swap is definitely a great idea. I love your picks although the only one I've read was Cassandra Clare which I adore, can't wait for the movie. The other two I've heard and wanted to read but not enough hours in the day. Maybe one day :-)
Response: I'm looking forward to the movie as well! I saw you had read Clare, so I wanted to be sure to send one you knew. I highly recommend the other two! Especially on audio.
Comment: Thanks so much for the ATC. The Doctor has so many great "catchphrases" I understand it being hard to choose one. Your adipose stamped image was the biggest hit, though. My girls don't even know what it is, but they thought it was adorable! XD
Response: I'm glad you liked the ATC. I'm watching Doctor Who on TV right now--excellent timing! I bought that stamp on etsy--one of the best Who-investments I've ever made, that's for sure :-) heehee
Comment: Thanks for the ATC. The Raven is my favorite poem and I did a raven ATC too for this swap. :) Liked how the card had decorations on both sides.
Response: I "discovered" Poe in middle school thanks to short stories in creative writing class, but The Raven made an impression on me when I heard it later and it was fun making an ATC based on it. I'm so glad you liked it!
Comment: ahmigod! a 24-pack of fine point sharpies?!! This is like.. Dean getting a whole pie instead of a slice. Can't you just imagine his face? Yeh, that was me when I opened your package! :D Such a huge amount of awesomeness ~ ahh! As we agreed to a 12-pack on your end though I'd like to make it fair for you and shall PM you shortly. Other then this all I can say is that you are incredible (& very generous)! Many more hearts if I could!! :D
Response: Okay. That's my new favorite simile. Aw, Dean :-) But, YAY, I'm glad you like the sharpies. I hope they help you create many, many awesome pieces!
Comment: Very well done, thank you! I didn't recognize that quote, but I like it!
Response: The quote is actually from an Angel episode (season 1). So I cheated a little, but as it mentions Buffy and her time at Sunnydale, and it fits the picture so well, I thought it would work. Glad you liked it! Thanks for the rating & heart.
Comment: Thanks for the bookmark! And for the ATC. As I am just beginner with them, I love to receive new one´s to see, how other people make them. PS. Did you notice - I just sent you postcard on other HP-swap, and now you send me bookmark : D
Response: Yes! I do seem to run into the same swappers in group swaps--nothing wrong with that, though! Love to see active fans on here :-) I'm glad you liked the bookmark & matching ATC. My ATC style is not fixed; I change it for every series I do and I like to try out new things. But for this, I just went simple and all-digital. Normally you can't stop me from using glitter on ATCs. LOL! Anyway, glad you enjoyed them :-)
Comment: Yeah!!! What an awesome package :) I love that my baggie has a cool pink cover and even has Sherlock's wallpaper as a background. The otter paper really cracks me up :) The poppy pen and cork boards are very clever. Love the pins and all the other great goodies! Thank you so much for an awesome swap. Update: Thank you so much for sending the additional art print! It's very cool :)
Response: Oh YAY! I just got word that the etsy store had been having trouble with one of the prints I ordered; that's what held her up. As soon as I get my order, I'll send the last piece of it your way. But I'm really glad you liked the bag as it was :-) The otter meme on the internet is something I believe EVERY Sherlock fan must have a copy of. heehee I'm glad you liked all the goodies, the obviously Sherlockian elements and subtle ones as well. Here's to a season three! *lifts glass*
Comment: Thanks so much! This was such an adorable and welll thought out little package. I loved it. :)
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! Congratulations again on your acceptance to Hogwarts; not many Americans have their names put down for it, so you should feel extra special :-) I'm sure Ravenclaw will gain a fine member in you. Cheers!
Comment: Sorry it took so long to rate. Finally back from vacation and came home to the most fabulous package. I just adore all the wonderful items you put in my bag. It is cramed full of yummy fun stuff. I collect Pez so perfect! I have never seen the candy but what fun those are going to be with the kids. I just adore the Batman cookie cutters. You out did all my expectations. What a grand haul I made. 1000 hearts to the best partner ever!!! Hugs, Mona. ps- saving the towel fun for the kids and LOVE my little stuffie!
Response: Oh yay! I was going for a mix of things. I loved the cookie cutters so much I think I might have to track some down for myself now! heehee I'm so glad you liked it all, including the Pez. And I'm happy it gave you something to smile about when coming home from vacation! :-)
Comment: Your letter was awesome Kate! John Green is most definitely a rockstar! And I learned so much about him from your letter. Thank you! And okay, the Author Trading Card? YES! YES YES SO much frikking yes to doing this as a swap in the future!!!!!!
Response: Thanks for the rating & heart! Sorry I'm not better at drawing, but I'm glad you enjoyed it and a few reasons I think he's worthy of the title. heehee And YAY! I thought the trading cards be fun to share/collect/trade! I'm going to make a couple others for the swap photo before making it a District 13 swap :-)
Comment: Oh my goodness... I absolutely loved going through my box of goodies!! Everything is just perfect :) My kiddos were excited to see what else I pulled out of the box! Thank you so much, I can't wait to put my goodies to good use!!
Response: You're so welcome. There was so much on your profile to work with and it was a lot of fun buying/making all the things. I'm glad you & your family enjoyed going through it! :-) Thanks for the rating & heart <3 Happy swapping!
Comment: Thank you... Btw our results were very similar....the whole process actually stressed me out :0(
Response: Trying to make progress every day really was so stressful! And the only goal I completed was the one where I set a goal to finish by the end of the month and worked at it when I could. At least I learned what DOESN'T work for me!
Comment: such a good quote you used! and i agree willow is awesome. =) do you like her with oz or with tara? i'll go with tara =)
Response: I like them both, but I'd have to vote Tara over Oz. And either of them over Kennedy. She's such a fascinating and full character on her own, though--goes through more extreme changes over the series than anyone else... except maybe Spike.
Comment: Cute ATC thanks so much! Love the little extra goddy too!
Response: Thanks! I'm very glad you liked it. My real life Sunflowers aren't doing so hot right now (I don't think they like Virginia's outdoor weather) so I'm glad the ATC version made it safe & sound and won't die :-)
Comment: Wow, what an awesome bag 'o goodies! It's all really great :) I'm so excited to have an invitation to attend Hogwarts! The owl zip pouch is awesome. Socks, book marks, notepads , treats..... so manny goodies.
And thank you so much for angeling my 2 missing deathly hallows atcs!!!!
Response: I'm so happy that you liked all of it! I tried for a mix of Harry Potter-esque things as well as some officially licensed items and some crafted ones. I'm definitely glad you liked the ATCs- those were fun to make!
l-o-v-e the stamp on the card. My kids asked if you made it:-)
Oh the ATC's they are great. You are a fast worker. I love that quote from the Capt.
Thanks again for the ATC's
Response: I didn't make the stamp; I bought it on Etsy (money spent on an adorable Adipose stamp is money well spent). Let me know if you want to know which store/crafter and I'll look it up for you. I'm so glad you liked the ATCs! Jack's one of my favorites (I gave Doctor Who a second chance because I watched Torchwood and wanted to know more about Jack... then fell in love with DW despite myself, heehee).
Comment: Wonderful package! Thank you so much for everything! The Picard "facepalm" magnet is on my fridge & I can't wait to read the Shatner book! I love all the stickers, cards, etc! ***
Response: Oh yay! Iit's hard to find TNG items in stores nowadays and that magnet made me laugh when I saw it, so I'm happy you liked it too. And I'm glad you liked all the little goodies. Happy reading!
Comment: thanks so much! i didn't like paige in the beginning but i warmed up to her. =) i love the photos inside the triquetra sign. i wish i could see them a bit better, though.
Response: Sorry it printed out a little fuzzy. I have tried a lot of different things to get it to print clearer and haven't gotten it to work yet. I did have fun choosing the photos and getting them to fit inside the symbol. This is what it SHOULD look like: http://i338.photobucket.com/albums/n427/KateKintail/Paige.png
And I totally agree about Paige. I wasn't a huge fan of her in the beginning, but she definitely came into her own. My favorite of her was when she taught at Magic School and when she had that string of temp jobs with magical connections. Anyway, glad you liked the ATC!
Comment: thanks so much! i loved that season with her & cole. her being the queen and all that jazz. =)
Response: Really? Dark!Phoebe and Source!Cole were so hard for me to watch!! I hate it when my good characters go evil--kind of breaks my heart. But when they redeem themselves, it makes it all worth it. Great drama! Anyway, glad you liked the ATC :-)
Comment: Wow I love this ACT! And the little "air freshener" is way cool! Yes John Winchester can certainly be a difficult person to love! But he was a great character all the same ;) I cant wait until I get you as a partner again :) Happy swapping!
Response: He was indeed a great character--I like complex characters you can't help but both love and hate at the same time. He certainly had a great & important role in the series and I'm glad he made it into the ATC Series so high up on the list :-) Happy swapping & I hope to see you again in another swap!
Comment: Kate ~ thank you so much! The kids love the bowling set and I love the pins! I have never seen those before. Thank you again!!
Response: Woot! I bought myself a package of the buttons, too, as I'd never seen them before either (neat swap got me looking at everything in the aisle more closely). Glad the kids are having fun with the bowling set too! You're welcome & thanks for the rating & heart.
Comment: I love books! And I love the idea of a book fairy, caught in a library. Adorable!
Response: I'm so glad you liked it. I hope it made it through in one piece. I used SO MUCH GLUE to keep the bookmarks and pen and scrabble tiles in place (the scrabble tile letters that were chosen were not random, either, so I hope they all stayed put and are readable). I don't know if you took a close look at the book covers used in the very back of the jar, but they're all ones that sort of fit the color scheme and that you mentioned in your profile that you liked! I came up with the idea of doing a book fairy when I signed up for the swap and was so pleased I got someone who likes books too. And the pages are from a sci-fi book, because you mentioned it was a genre you liked. It was fun to make and fun to customize it a little. Thanks for the heart & rating. Enjoy the jar!
Comment: Love the story behind the recipe card!! You know I'm gonna have to try it even tho I'm sure my results will be the same as yours. Altho, I'm thinking ... print the recipe on a label and stick it on? It is awfully nice, and a shame to throw it out. Thanks for the challenge!! 8-)
Response: A label is a great idea; I hadn't thought of that! Wouldn't look as nice, certainly, nor would it then be waterproof, which was the whole benefit of the card. But, hey, if you can find a pen that works, absolutely let me know! Have fun trying :-)
Comment: Excellent atcs! I love their goofy costumes, don't you :) Thanks for the lovely postcards too. They are awesome!!!
Response: Glad you liked them! Yeah, the costumes are pretty terrible. But I like including the tributes on the cards because it's easy to forget the no-name tributes and they're all kids who died for their districts, in the end. Nice to put faces to them. Glad you liked the postcards too! :-)
Comment: Great idea using quotes for the background. I usually just add the quote to the card. Love it! Thanks
And I love the stamp? Did you have it made up? Let me know :)
Response: Yes, I comissioned dragonflycurls on etsy to make the stamp for me and she did a beautiful job. Given the length of this ATC series, I thought it was a good investment! :-) My style changes for every ATC series I do, but I thought the quotes in the background were a neat look--glad you liked them!
Comment: I laughed so hard reading your note about the junk. I admittedly spent a good half hour trying out every pen in the house on your recipe card to see if it would work... and you were absolutely right. That was poor planning obviously.
Response: I'm so glad you got a kick out of it. And it makes me feel better (vindicated!) to know that you didn't have a pen that would work properly on it either! LOL
Comment: Thank you for the ATC! Soon beautiful. I don't care if you put glitter on it. Its just sometimes it gets on everything and then for days you sparkle. Haha!
Response: Yay! I'm sure Cas will make sure the glitter stays put for ya :-) I had fun making it, despite the Castiel SPRock song stuck in my head the whole time. So I'm very glad you liked it! Thanks for rating!
Comment: Im sorry I always forget to rate. I loved it. actually I had to make the plastic stick around it again because I used it so much it came loose. I hope you understood that, english isnt my first language so i don't know how to say it otherwise :(
Response: Oh no--bad plastic! But I'm very glad you liked it!
Comment: I love the postcard! I have yet to read a Stephen King book, but I have been told by many people that I would love him!
Response: He's definitely got a style all his own, and I like his short stories better than most of his novels (great concepts). But Duma Key was especially fun because it had to do with art, so I thought it was doubley-appropriate to mention for a swap-bot swap :-) Happy reading!
Comment: This is the BEST swap!!! I was literally just jumping up and down in my room like a cartoon child. I was going to be all useless and sleep/laze around all day got woken up by the mail lady delivering this and am now in an amazingly good mood and want to go run around. Also, yesterday I was just thinking how I needed a bag/backpack thing for going walking with now it's spring AND I was working on my craft for this swap and thinking a lot about the Hunger Games AND it arrived on the movie premier date. You are magical.
Response: What excellent timing! When I sent it out, I had a HOPE that it would make it there in time, but I wasn't sure because it was heading out of the country. I'm glad you got it today of all days! I'm so happy you like the bag and will find it useful! (And here I was all worried you wouldn't like it at all) Happy Hunger Games day!
Comment: I will look for your book reviews now. I wrote a long focus for *The Hunger Games* for our book club meeting (I nominated it) and everyone loved the book and the focus. This year my book was *Suite Francaise*, also a fav. All your other books will go on my to-read list.
Response: Thirteen Reasons Why was perhaps the best book I read last year. It still haunts me (though in a good way) and makes me think. I just looked up Suite Francaise--it sounds amazing!
Comment: Awesome list! It would be nice if I could do a project every month, but time doesn't allow it. Stay encouraged & remember if at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off & try again :)
Response: Thank you for the encouragement! A project a month has been a lot of fun, but my 1001 days are nearing an end and there are still so many projects I haven't done yet! I might just have to do the same thing next time.
Comment: Thank you so much for this wonderful ATC! I love it :) I checked out the song that you mentioned in your note, it really is beautiful! Thanks also for the extra ATC sleeves, I really needed them! :)
Response: I'm very glad you liked the card (I love Aragorn looking all kingly).
Comment: I haven't had a chance to read it yet but I wanted to make sure I got the rating up before I forgot :) Thanks for sending-- I can't wait to get through it, looks like there's a long one in there!
Response: Thanks for the rating + heart. It was a fun exercise and I hope you enjoy the read! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Comment: So absolutely cute and perfect. I have been doing this swap with my son and he is going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this. Sirius is also one of his favorites. Thank you for a great swap.
Response: Yay! I am brand new to stuffies (that was only my second one ever) and this was the only one in this series I attempted because Sirius is one of my favorites and I couldn't resist. I'm so glad you liked it and I hope your son does as well!
Comment: Thank you very much! Nice ATC! And everything else is wonderful! Thank you!
Response: You're welcome! I'm new to ATCs, but I used to fill pages and pages with flowers like this when I was young, so it was fun to go back to my roots with this ATC! Glad you liked it & the little extras :-)
Comment: Thanks so much for this great package! awesome first attempt at mail art :) Loved the road map on the front & Ouija at the back! and love all the goodies inside, the 'car freshener' is a great touch & my fave is the book mark, but I'm sure that will get me distracted while reading ;) Oh the card you picked out, it's so fun! Thanks for thinking of me when you saw that :) Thanks again for the awesome package!! xox
Response: You're welcome! I'm thrilled you liked it as much as I liked the one you sent me! :-) You know I'm still new to the show (halfway through Season 5 right now) so I'm glad it captured the show all right. Getting distracted by the boys while reading with that bookmark... isn't so bad, is it? heehee
Comment: This Package was so awesome!! I can't believe the detail! So many hearts for you!!
Response: You are SO welcome! I probably spent way more time on it than I'd planned, but it was a whole lot of fun making everything while watching seasons 1 through 5 for the first time! I'm so glad you liked everything. Have fun with it!
Comment: Yay! Chai I can drink at bedtime! Can't wait to start the tasting party tonight! And I'm beginning to think Virginia is the chai-capital of the world, because I got THREE envies of chai from VA today - how funny is that?! :) Thanks for great teas and a cute card!! :)
Response: Ha! I just got one from right down the street from me, practically! You're right; Virginia must be a hotbed of Chai-drinikers! I hope you enjoy this flavor (I definitely needed something I could drink at night and still sleep afterward).
Comment: Thank you so much for the awesome package! The teas smell delicious, I can't wait to try them all (one of them is being tried right now.) I loved the poem! Thank you for the extras :) And I agree - the Deathly Hallows HP valentines ARE awful!
Response: I'm glad you liked the poem--I was pretty happy with it :-) Enjoy the sentiments & teas! Happy magical Valentine's Day!
Comment: Just realized i never rated you! AMAZING PACKAGE!! everything was awesome, the book, and bulliten board. The eeyore house jar is cute!!! -- Side note- the finishing touches are being put on yours now and will go out tomorrow :)
Response: Yay! I look forward to it. I'm soooo glad you got my package (I was just about to message you to make sure it didn't get lost in the mail). I'm so glad the items made you smile (and since you missed out on the whimsey jar, I wanted to be sure you got a jar of some sort). I had a lot of fun coming up with Eeyore-related craft items, so I'm glad you liked how they turned out. Thanks for noticin'
Comment: I love, love, LOVE how all your stationary matched and was stamped with the Hogwarts crest! Very attentive to detail :) The bookmark(s!) are lovely! I'm happy you went with a Jarvey, and even happier that you learned more about them :) Thank you!
Response: Aw, thank you so much! I thought the stationary was appropriate and just the right size to fit the bookmark, too. I'm glad you liked your Jarvey! I feel the need to include one in a future fanfic now. lol
Comment: Wow I love everything in my Jar. Thank you sooo so much!!
Response: I'm glad you got it! I had such fun with it. And I was thrilled to find a jar that looks like a honey pot--seemed appropriate, so I kind of stuck to that theme with Pooh Bear :-) Thanks for participating and I'm glad you liked what I sent!
Comment: Hi there Kate! I got your wonderful package today and I was so giddy..it was kinda sad really. :P I loved everything that you sent, and I have to bat my Fiancee away from opening it before me....GRR LOL THE LABELS ARE AMAZING!!! Thankyou so much!

Comment: What a WONDERFUL Christmas stocking overflowing with goodies. I took it home with me and my mom and aunt got to see each item as I unwrapped them. It just kept going and going! I fell asleep reading the magazine in bed last night. And I especially love Lil' Shakespeare! :) thank you so much for a Christmas stocking that warmed a writer's heart.
Response: I'm so glad you liked all the contents. You can probably tell I had a lot of fun picking out items for you. I'm glad they made you smile and I hope they inspire you to write great things in 2012!
Comment: If I could have given you a bunch more hearts, I would have. You should have been here to hear my squeals of delight as I opened your package. Not even my husband is as nerdy for Star Wars as I am for Harry Potter, and your presentation was awesome! Hands down best swap ever, thank you!
Response: Just catching up on my responses here. Oh, I'm SO happy you enjoyed your whimsy jar. I had so much fun putting it together. Huff huff Hufflepuff!
Comment: You did a really great job on these. It was fun how you used so many diff graphics from my profile. Including Lucy! Other favs, were cupcake and ladybug on daisy, but all were so unique and cute and bright. Thankyou so much! PS I just looked closer, there are sooo many cute ones. This was a lot you put into this swap. I can use even the ones you are not happy with in sb's. IM happy with them. :)
Response: I had a LOT of fun making them, so Yay, I'm thrilled! I'm so glad you liked them and find uses for them all. If you want the electronic files for them so you can print any of them, I'd be happy to e-mail them to you. Just message me.
Comment: Perfect Postcard! Loved the owl sticker! We overlapped on wolves in our top five list :)
And I have to look up tamarins to remember what they look like. Thanks
Response: Yay for wolves; such interesting creatures :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the postcard & list. Some of the photos of GLTs on Wikipedia are from my zoo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Lion_Tamarin
Comment: Thank you for the pretty postcard and the book recommendations. I've never heard of either author and definitely will look at those titles. I love that you offered a real-world title and a series of urban fantasy. Nice balance. :)
Comment: Thanks for writing Kate :)
I see you enjoy reading and writing a lot. And you also like Harry Potter *-*
Oh, and thanks for keeping it easy to read.
Response: Thanks for taking the time to read my answers. I'm hoping crafting will get bumped back up there with reading & writing now that I've joined swap-bot! Yeah, I'm definitely a huge Harry Potter fan :-)
Comment: I couldn't survive without carbonated beverages!
Response: They do bad things to my tummy. Occassionally I miss the taste and I'll get a cream soda or root beer and let it sit open for a week before I drink it or make a root beer float. Thanks for the rating and the heart :-)
Comment: I absolutely love love LOVE this package! We all had so much fun opening it and the animals are all having a blast with their new stuff. Thank you so much for researching aNd considering them all.
Response: Oh, I'm so glad they're enjoying it. Thank you for hosting my first ever package swap! :-)
