Comment: Thank you for the wonderful package. I love your letter and all the wonderful goodies. Thank you so much.
I was slightly disappointed that there was no Ernie (the Swap-bot mascot) anywhere. I re-read the requirements and your letter does fulfill the swap.
Response: Oops...didn't know Ernie needed a ride! I'm impressed it got there so soon! Glad you were happy and thank you for the rating and the heart. Happy Swapping!
Comment: Such a gorgeous card! Love, love, love it - and I am so envious of you, on your way to India! I visited Delhi nearly 30 years ago and would like to go again. As a very young woman, I found it to be a hard place to travel, but I suspect that it would be friendlier to me now. ;-)
Response: Thanks for the rating, L. I am tickled that you are so pleased! You might get a kick out of "Holy Cow, An Indian Adventure" by Sarah MacDonald
Comment: AWESOME card of the Sands. I haven't been to Singapore in 15 years, my friends from there moved to Brunei for 6-8 months per year so it's harder to visit. Last time I went we stayed in a nice place across from the Raffles. We dressed up and went over the Raffles bar one night and hob-nobbed with the well-heeled. It was a fun evening, I think I'd like to find my way up to the rooftop on the Sands some evening and enjoy a fantasy evening again. Cheers
Response: Thanks Ruth for the rating and the heart. I am glad you were so pleased. Your time at the Raffles sounds like fun...hope you get to do it again soon. Try a swim at the Sands too! We have walked into fancy hotels and enjoyed their pool!
Comment: Love the AD card that you sent... can't believe that was a FREE card... I've bought cards that aren't half as nice as that one. Makes me want to hop on a plane and head for your spring/summer since we're heading into fall/winter here!
Response: Thank you for the rating and the heart! It always delights me when swappers like what I send. Yes, it was a pretty nice "free" card. May your traveling dreams come true!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful postcard of California. I love all those different views and also that you wrote so much on the back! My favourite views are the one with the foggy mountains in the upper left corner and the city view right next to it :)
Response: You are quite welcome. Thanks for the rating and especially the heart. That upper left corner is Yosemite National Park, a truly fabulous park to visit. We were just there and loved the stupendous waterfalls, at their max due to the record snowfall.
Comment: Thanks for the great Redwood postcard. I've taken that trip and it was breath-taking... we did a long weekend drive from Pleasanton on up the Redwood Coast thru to Eureka and back! Definitely worth the trip.
Comment: Thanks for the card & tips, we traveled with 4 other people, which had it's good & bad points, but we did go see Hoover Dam & new bridge, it was scary looking down & when big rigs drove across.
Comment: Thank you for your nice package! ;) It was necessary to send only one bookmark and I was gladly surprised by so much stuff in the envelope. :D And yes, I would like to become penpals with you. I already have your address, so keep an eye for a letter from Lithuania in your postbox (however, I'm not promising I'll write immediately since at the time I'm a bit busy - but I will write to you). ;)
Comment: Thanks for the great postcard from Singapore. I love all of the ones I have received from that country.
We do have lots of snow, but much melted yesterday and today! Spring's got to come soon!
Comment: I absolutely LOVE this multicolored PC! The glass beads are fabulous but I'm sure they are expensive (but well worth it). I, too, love going to the Torpedo Factory and try to get there a couple times a year in the spring and fall (when the weather is lovely here)! Thanks again for the great PC ~
Comment: Loved your bucket list! It's given me a few more ideas of what I'd like to add to mine :). I especially love your UFO entry, I've never heard anyone use it in that context before! Thank you again for the fantastic list, and extra goodies - love the fabric pieces :). Thank you!
Comment: Thank you so much for the warm welcome and the wonderful craft items! I can't wait to use them in future swaps :) Also, I loved reading your bucket list... and I envy you for having done such exciting things thus far in your life. Good luck getting all the rest done! :D
Comment: Thanks for your several recommendations. I wonder if you meant LOUISE Erdich rather than Louis. She is one of my favorite Native American authors. I haven't heard of that book so maybe it's a different author. Anyway, I appreciate your reviews.
Response: Sorry...you are right: it is Louise. As I said, I will try another of her books especially now with your recommendation! Thanks for the rating.
Comment: Thanks! I love the butterfly PC! I didn't know which PC swap this was for, at first, but then I narrowed it down by process of elimination. :-) Thanks, too, for the Margaret Maron recommendation - I'd never heard of her, but now I've got two books on hold at the library - thanks again! :-)
Comment: It FINALLY arrived! Thanks SO much for the great card!
*edited to add*
I didn't rate you for this in the summer...it never arrived and I decided not to rate at the time. You resent this to me Dated Dec. 2010 and it was rerouted to my new address. It arrived on Tuesday
Response: Wait! You rated me back in July. Your desk must look like mine! Thanks for rating again! Happy New Year Ah. too much holiday cheer on my part. Thanks!!!
Comment: Hi there! It's so nice to hear that you've been to Singapore a couple of times and that you have enjoyed your stay here! :) Eating is probably most locals' favourite past time so it's great to hear that you love our food here! Anyway, thanks for visiting and following my blog. Do you have a blog too?
Response: No blog....hard time just doing the "regular" internet stuff!
Comment: Thanks for the ace Durango & Silverton railroad P/C - that looks like one thrilling ride! Just this weekend I was thinking that my husband and I ought to go for a ride on the Zig Zag Railway (a local steam train) not far from our new abode, so how coincidental was that! Not that we've done it yet. ;)
Response: Thanks, Instead of doing housework or weeding the garden, go take that ride!
Comment: Thank you for the postcard. I think its the first Monaco one I have and one of my favorite kinds are multiviews. I hope you enjoyed your vacation in Colorado and are enjoying your retirement as much as I am.
Comment: WOW 2 amazing atc's..you did a wonderful job on the zentangle, I never though that a triangle could be so beautiful...The other one.. sewed and with those perfect folds is really something else..I am just in awe of your work, never let anyone tell you that you are not talented,,if they do send them to me and I'll set them straight..I can't stop looking at the folds in that one cards,,it is sooooo beautiful...I Thank you so very much,,,
Comment: Awesome postcard! You are so lucky to travel so much. I would love to do that too someday. The P.O. took a sharpie or something and scribbled out your address for some reason and I'd love to write back to you. If you get a chance pm your address to me. Thank you!! :)
Comment: what a lovely card from Malaysia, everybody always says how beautiful it is there!...Loved the chattiness of your postie, truly, and the groundhogs aren't out here yet!...too much white on the gournd....thanks so much, Marlene, you ROCK!..stamps were great too!
Comment: You definitely have all the colors! I would love to travel in that part of the world someday. We have lived in Europe a couple of times, but have never been to Asia -- closest I have come was Chinatown in Vancouver, BC! Thanks, and happy swapping!
Comment: Great card! Thank you. Thanks also for the neat suggestions for an altered RRH. We didn't do one this year due to family circumstances, but I'll certainly keep your ideas in mine for next year.
Comment: Your postcard was my first-ever fabric postcard received! I absolutely *love* it -- I took it with me to work, and it makes me smile each time I see it. It's also inspiring me to learn to sew -- even just so I could do fabric postcards myself! Thank you.
Comment: Marlene - thanks for the lovely postcard and the story of your trip. I think I was able to find the translation of the verse on the card: "But to God belong the treasures of the heavens and the earth; but the Hypocrites understand not." Happy swapping! Jolene
Comment: Thank you for sharing. I like getting cards from where people have been. I think you get more of a story about the place then you do from someone that lives there. I am so jealous. That would be such a great trip. So where will your next travels take you?
Comment: Thanks for the letter, the beautiful paper & the fabric patch. I will reply (though maybe not by long, long letter as I've decided I'm not really cut out for those, anymore) within the next few weeks.
Comment: I would so love to see the King Tut exhibit. Maybe someday it will come to Portland. I love the postcard . I had the Grandkids over today and was trying to get a picture of both of them but the little was was having none of it. Oh well, next time
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful postcard. Wow I bet you had a lot of fun when you were on your vacation in the Orient. Some day I would love to visit Tokyo, Japan. Where else do you have postcards from? I'd love to swap some with you. I collect 'em from all over the USA and world.
Comment: Well, Zanylady, you made my day! I love this postcard--totally one of my favorites since I've been swapping here. What you said about Welsh villiages in So. America rang a bell with me--a gal I used to work with was Native American by birth and adopted. Her adoptive Mother she always said was Welsh, but from So. America which I never understood. I wish I knew which village my Welsh ancestors came from-my maiden name was Davis (before that it was Davies) which is the most common Welsh name unfortunately. The country side there is so pretty! thanks again, Carol
Comment: Thanks for the great card! All of the places mentioned are on my list to see first hand one day, too! Also, I recently caught the postcrossing.com bug in addition to swap-bot one, but thanks for the tip!
Comment: Thanks for the postcard and for telling me about California winters -- I must admit I'm jealous! I love quotes, so it would be awesome if you could leave the one you tried to fit on the postcard on my profile!
Comment: Thanks very much! ;-)
(Fb's are friendship books - handmade hand-sized or smaller, with art-ish cover, inside blank pages penpals sign in with their addy label and what they swap or want in a penpal, then pass on to other penpals to sign in)
Comment: Thank you for the great postcard and the nice welcome to swapbot! I like the buggy photo a lot.
We spend some time in Syracuse...a couple of concerts and LOTS of airport trips! ; ) We moved here from Arizona, so I'm still amazed at all the green around here...and amazed but not in a good way about the snow in winter!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely card, Iv been to hershey before too and agree that its amazing, for my pc that i was sending out its from chicago as I just got back from a week long visit to a penpal, super fun.
Comment: Wow! I just got your gorgeous PC today and I was amazed. It's so beautiful! And the I realized that it was an original PC designed by you! And it was on spanish! Unbelievable! :D
I've heard of Skype but never used it before. I would be a bit embarrassed, since I don't have the greatest english pronunciation... I'll check Skype and see if I get the hang of it.
Muchas gracias por la postal! :)
Comment: Thanks for the superb card. I'm making my first fabric pc right now and it is quite challenging. I don't have a sewing machine that can do all the fancy stitches. Using old ties is a great idea.
I'm going to give you a heart but right now Swap bot won't let me. I'll come back later!
Comment: Beautiful card...you are fast! I didn't even realize the names had been assigned yet. Not very springlike here today and they are calling for "the S word" for tomorrow night. Ugh...go away winter!
Comment: Marlene, thank you for your letter it arrived today. It was so neat to come home to a real snail mail letter. I loved the orange paper and Thank You for sharing info about yourself. I loved your envelope too.
Comment: Many, many, many Hearts to you!!! Your envie was like a package on Christmas morning :) The quilted ATC is SO amazing and beautiful. And ALL the Gold Star extras.Thank you so very much!! I love it All. It was so very thoughtful of you :)
Comment: Thank you for your nice card ! I really like it. If you do come down to Malaysia again, let me know :) I dont mind taking you around. Infact I will be going to perth in the coming April for a holiday.
Comment: great postcard and great quote. for the few days it took me to rate you, the postcard laid by my computer. Every time i passed by it- on the way to work or where i am now- it caught my eye. and yes, it did make me feel peaceful! thank you!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely card/letter and the ribbons! :) It's nice to hear that Finland or Sweden are on the "To travel to" -list. :D I don't know about the whole expensive thing but my friend from Germany at least thinks that it's quite expensive here (especially groceries and rent). Finland and Sweden are on the same line so I don't really see the difference. :)
Comment: Great postcard and thanks for your lovely message. I like the celebration of the Chinese migrant gold field workers - Australia has also been culturally enriched since our gold rush days by Chinese migrants.
Comment: Marlene, thanks for the nice postcard from Scotland. I envy your getting to travel to foreign countries. Due to lack of funds and vacation days, I've only been able to travel in the U.S. and Canada, Hopefully one day that will change!
Comment: Beautiful Card and thank you for the stickers. I will put them to good use. Thank you for your kind words and your personalized note. Happy Holidays to you and yours and keep creating and be safe during this holiday season......
Comment: I received your letter today. It sounds like it's beautiful where you live. :-) I'll be writing you back soon. P.S. I don't know where you got those adorable round rubber stamps with the different designs inside them, but they're SO cute! I love circular stuff.... :-D
Comment: I received your letter this weekend! Even it took me a couple timed to read it, i love your handwriting :D I also think an handwritten letter is more personal that a typed one! I'll write you back a.s.a.p!
Comment: Marlene, I love the ATC you made for me. The embroidery stitches on the leaf are so tiny. How'd you do the outline? Thanks also for the rickhly textured ATC background. It will be a shame to obscure any of it.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely note. Can't believe you remembered me from so long ago. I have been trading ATC but only with hand carved stamp groups this last year. Love both of your ATC's but the polymer clay was a very special "treat".
Comment: Your ATC is wonderful! I thank you so much! Thanks for the Auburn map too, one that i don't have yet, so it's truly awesome! I will gladly use the ribbons too! Love playing around w/ that stuff on cards -n- ATCs! THANK YOU!!!
Comment: Rah! Rah! Zanylady! What a really pretty card you sent . . .I love the hand-painted background and it's my favorite colors too. I can't believe you sent me three fat quarters along with my ATC! And such pretty fat quarters, too . . . yum!
Happy quilting and thanks a bunch.
Comment: I love the card! We have several books that deal with the California gold rush. I think I visited a website about Auburn several years ago when I was doing some research about a woman stage coach driver out your way. I wonder if you have ever looked for gold out there. Thank you for interesting notes.
Comment: OMG, OMG, OMG !!! WOW! They are all beautiful, so different, and so much work in them! You rock! 10 hearts given, if not visible up there !!! (We are in awe of those tiny hexagons.) Thanks for being so gracious about my screw-up!
Comment: Thanks for the "Sender's Choice" ATCs. I like the one done on a brown paper bag, it has a nice textured effect. I see that the post mark is April 25, and I received it on May 14. Can you believe it!
Comment: Beautiful ATCs! Thank you for sending two of them! You would have earned a star for just one- they're so beautifully made I can't pick which one is my favorite!! I love how you used your machine's fancy stitch feature. I wish I had a machine that would do that! (Mine's pretty basic; I can't even lower the feed dogs for free-motion work. :P )
Oh, and I adore the cute handmade envelope you made for one of them! Thank you so much.
Comment: What absolutely beautiful cards! I am not sure I will be able to send out the ones you made -- and I love your husband's photo. I also love that you decorate the envelopes. I will treasure these cards. Thank you so much!
Comment: Thanks! I like the fantasy you had in choosing the lists. And I could read your handwriting, don't worry! - BTW, it's ok for me if you want us to be penpals. We'll talk about it trhoug PM ok? Take care!
Comment: There are not words to describe your generous and thoughtful package. Opening it was like going to an antique store and picking out all of my favorites!!! I love the paper you made and decorated and it will be going into my journal immediately. The lace is beautiful, as are the beads, buttons, perals, ribbons, and ephemera. The linen napkin I will add to my collection for when I have tea. Thank your grandma for me also. I feel so blessed to get such a nice package. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Anytime you want to swap, just let me know. I love it all.
Comment: WOW girl I love the ATCs you sent. BOTH of them. They are so beautiful. I can thank you enough for sending an ATC as an extra. I can tell you put alot of thought and pride into your cards. WOW and thanx again and again.
Comment: Thank you so much for the bookmarks, the postcard and your endearing words. My little cousin (she's 8 years old) was browsing through my mail and decided that your fabric bookmark is her new favorite one. :)
Comment: Thank you :-)
I'm sorry, I thought I had given you a heart. I had a dozen postcards in themail I had to leave ratings for, lol! I used to live in Alaska and thought your postcard was very nice. What an amazing experience!
Comment: hi marlene! i just finished reading your letter! thank you so much for the stationery, it's so pretty! i'll be writing you back soon but right now i'm going to go look at all your photos on flickr!!
Comment: The card came yesterday and I must say for a card swap you did way more then you needed to. I am sorry you had to resend but I do appreciate it! Great package and well worth waiting for. So far the first has not shown up
Comment: Thank you for the two ATCs and the way you used recycled stuff for everything, including the note. However, I should point out that the ATCs didn't travel that well as I had to glue/tape a lot of the top pieces back in place.
Comment: Marlene, Your postcard arrived the day I sent my first five out. Extra fast! I've never been to Inyo Forest, we tend to head straight to Tahoe to look for snow. Thanks for the postcard. Carroll
Comment: Your card is great, you're so much more creative than I am! Wow, it's really beautiful.
I would love to be penpals with you. You still have my adress, don't you? Will you send me a letter? I'll answer it as soon as it arrives.
Comment: Hi Marlene - got my postcard yesterday. Inyo Nat'l Forest looks like a very beautiful place. It is quite different from anyplace I've seen. I'll put it on my list of "places to see". Thanks Lisa
Comment: I totally enjoyed reading the story - it was interesting hearing about the choices you made and, the "times" of the events. I didn't want the end of the page to hit! I have a new endeavor for you: Write a biography of your own! I would buy it! :) Thanks so much ~
Response: Ouch! As you can see I am rated pretty highly. I sent all the ATCs for this swap back in April! The PO has must have it for lunch. I'll send a replacement today. ( I mailed you a replacement and another card on 6/22/09). I will bet that the card you did receive has an April postmark.
Comment: Thanks for making a donation to Save the Children!!!..my swap partner made the point that everyone who participates in such a nice, worthwhile swap like this deserves a heart. She has a good point, so here's your heart!
Comment: Marlene, I really enjoyed reading about your quilt retreat. Based on the photo on the postcard, I understand why you wish you were still there. I'd love more info. such as the time of year, if the retreat is open to the public, and where Asilomar is located. Thank you again.
Comment: Love the letter Marlene. I love all the detail. It was a fun read. Thanks so much for the hand dyed fabric. I love green and I'm saving it for something special. I've never seen a polymer clay ATC. I loved getting something I've never seen before. Thanks.
Comment: hey thanks marlene beautiful card and envy
love the little gold hearts
got it this morning 19th
Response: Diamond....I sent you a card on 3/28 Thinking of you. If you did not get it, I will be happy to make another. The one I sent had a bright pink, fancy cut label on card with lettering of thinking of you and then a metal heart brad with ribbon and lace.
Please let me know immediately if you didn't get this one.
Comment: Marlene, Thank you so much for all of the goodies! My little boy snagged the glitter glue the moment it slid out of the package. He is a bit addicted to "painting" with them right now. Thanks again!
Comment: Where do I start? This swap package went above and beyond and it also included a special 'extra' package of candy treats just for me for hosting the swap! Very happy to have had you for my partner!
